Orphaned non-free media (File:Bongaon High School.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bongaon High School.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:45, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I wanted to use a small size image (PNG format) instead of the previous large JPG image which I uploaded. But the resolution of the PNG file was not good, that's why I didn't change the image ( and I do not know how to remove an image). Thanks for letting me know. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "MagneticThinFilmLab". The reason given for MagneticThinFilmLab's block is: " Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully. Why can't I edit Wikipedia? Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy. Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username? Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. What can I do now? If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead. If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following: Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must: Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked. If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. ".

IP block exempt[edit]

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Salvio Let's talk about it! 17:22, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lonavala railway station edit[edit]

Noticed you removed all the uploaded images at Lonavla railway station claiming overcrowding & similarity. I disagree with you on both the issues. Other than one image which may be considered similar except that it has been taken at much closer range, i believe that the other images do not classify as overcrowding. Would like you to re-consider & revert your edit. Superfast1111 (talk) 03:36, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User:Superfast1111, I appreciate you extensive work on wikipedia regarding Indian railways. The reason for removing the images and calling it overcrowding (1+4 images) is due to the size of the article and it's overall significance. Now coming to the point of images, Outside Lonavla railway station.jpg is not a good image to showcase the railway station, instead what I see a station surrounded by garbage. I doubt whether Lonavla railway station - Dedication plaque.jpg image is needed at all as it can be best described in words (image quality is also not that great). I think you will agree that Lonavla railway station - Stationboard.jpg image is essentially similar to the existing one. And finally Lonavla railway station - Entrance.jpg is the only image that can be considered for this article (though I personally won't add it back as I don't feel any more images is required to this article). Instead of adding all images to the main article I prefer utilizing {{Commons}}, {{Commons-inline}}, or {{Commons category}} templates for those images, as it is best if all images on the same subject (e.g., here it is Lonavla railway station) are clubbed to a category and add to the wikipedia article (that's what I did in this case) and from the list the best and suitable should be selected for the corresponding wikipedia article. I hope you understand that wikipedia is an encyclopedia and it is not an image repository --sobarwikitalk 17:01, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with you on the 1st point,it is an unfortunate reality of stations in India. On the 2nd, it not everyday or everywhere that you get to see a plaque honouring a gallantry award winner. The quality is'nt bad not for anyone to read it. 3rd - Yes,it is similar but is taken at closer range & with more visible data that you can see on top of the stationboard. 4th - It seems that we sort of agree that it can be placed back on the article so thats out of the way.

So summing it up,we can forget the 1st image. The plaque & entrance to be kept & maybe we can talk about the stationboard to see if we can come on some sort of agreement. Fair enough??

By the way, all the images have been uploaded via commons so if you want to link them to the article, you can do so. Superfast1111 (talk) 05:23, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Close up photo overemphasizes the name, the article is about the station and which is clearly visible (with a substantial portion of station) in the existing image. As I have earlier said it is not necessary that a image is needed for honouring a gallantry award winner it can be expressed in words easily. You completely avoided last two line. So I repeat wikipedia is an encyclopedia and wikimedia commons is best suited for images. Thanks.--sobarwikitalk 16:48, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, well understood. I am only re-instating the image of the entrance & leaving the rest out. Thanks for the assistance. Superfast1111 (talk) 13:47, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am happy that the discussion came to a mutual end. Thanks to you.--sobarwikitalk 15:42, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
