Re: Terrorist Attacks article

Sure thing. I'm a bit busy myself these few days, so I probably won't be able to turn to the article until this weekend. Cheers, Black Falcon (Talk) 04:45, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Comment made by 82.153.37.245

Sorry, just wanted to state the the authenticity of the video is debated. As you may well know, forced confessions are common in Sri Lanka (from both sides of the war), especially since this "confession" comes from 3 young girls. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.153.37.245 (talkcontribs)

Seriously, can you not even say that the neutrality of the video of the confessions of the chencholai bombings are debated?!?!

machan take a look at that mess and POV fork. Its amazing that the editor keeps giving us so many Human right sources.esp the onese he love dearly. Sri Lankan monitor,Churches commision on mission, BMJ.com, meeharaka.com u name it ,he has them !! I guess there are more human rightists than dark crows in a busy dirty pettah street!! It s amzing that the way these so called human right groups keep their mouth shut when Sinhalese and Muslims get butchered by the LTTE.I guee they not interested in this, what do u think ? Ohh,last but not least, beloved and ever reliable snagam and tamil net are also there.Article would not have been compelted without them, riiiight? cheerioIwazaki 会話。討論 02:14, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I updated some historical details about Mount Lavinia.

Also please have a look on Palitha Kohona article, it is proposed for deletion by one of the administrators.

Hello Snowolfd4,

Firstly, my apologies for the delay in progress on this case, as explained at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Sri Lankan Civil War.

I am writing to you because, as a party to this case, your input is required before mediation can begin, to do with an offer by an experienced non-Committee member to mediate. Please see the Parties' agreement to WJBscribe's offer section and provide your input, so that this case can progress. Voting will remain open for seven days, and further elaboration is provided at that link.

For the Mediation Committee, Daniel Bryant 08:55, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism?

Sorry, but where in the cited article does it state the the phone calls were threatening? There is nothing to suggest at all that the calls were "threatening" in any way! At the most, the article makes a wild speculation....? Can you please clear this up? Thanks 82.152.209.74 16:42, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

"Subsequent police investigations revealed that he had received threatening phone calls originating from the Vanni region"

That's what the wikipedia page says, when in fact their investigations have not "revealed" anything... They can only SUSPECT that the calls were in fact threatening, as you quoted in the article. Can you please edit this accordingly. Thanks 82.152.209.74 11:18, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

btw, i got myself an account ;) Thusiyan 14:01, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

POV problem in title of List of Terrorist Incidents page

Snowolfd4,

Regarding http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:List_of_terrorist_incidents&curid=54198&diff=130735502&oldid=130610898#Renaming_the_article a few months ago I noted that the title of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents page did not match the actual scope of its content, and that this was either misleading or POV, depending on how one wishes to categorize it. On the talk page I noted the problem, solicited suggestions for correcting it, and proposed that the page be renamed to reflect its actual scope. (I put this at the top of the page in an effort to gain the greatest visibility, being unaware of the convention of adding new comments to the bottom.) Two months later, having seen no objections, I renamed the page and posted a follow-up comment on the talk page explaining the rename. I also made the original page point to page under the new title and to another page. You subsequently reverted these changes, apparently being unaware of the discussion that I had posted (incorrectly) at the top of the page. After I contacted you about this, you then posted some comments at the bottom of the talk page to solicit input. I then moved the original discussion from the top of the page to the bottom of the page and merged it into the section that you had created. I also replied in detail to your comments, further explaining the rationale for the proposed change.

More time has now passed, but I have not seen any further followup from you on this topic. Is there anything else you think I can or should do to solicit more input on this page title problem? Are you now okay with the explantions that I have provided for removing the POV bias from the title?

Thanks, -- DBooth 16:59, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

LTTE

On the LTTE page could you please verify that the British polive have said there is no definite link between the LTTE and the credit card scam. Please see this page: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6578595.stm as a source to cite. Thank you. Thusiyan 16:20, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Article Eelam War IV un-sourced tag

Hi Friend,

Is there any possibility to remove the "{{Unreferenced|date=April 2007}}" tag from Eelam War IV article. Because we have provided the references / sources belongs to details attached to the article very clearly.

Thank you,

List of Tamils article

Just because you say that a site is POV doesn't make it so. Remember your SATP and SPUR and all the other crap thats been put on wikipedia ? If you think those sites are not POV sites then neither is the one you removes. Thanks

You must have erred when you reverted a vandalism into the page of North Collins, New York, which was itself a deletion of a large part of the page. I fixed it. Thanks anyway. Stepp-Wulf 04:20, 20 May 2007 (UTC).

Machan

Have you noticed the newest trend here? Load all the articles with pathetic propaganda and hilarious lies ,and asked good administrators to protect them in order to keep the lies and garbage. What amazes me most, is all the external links of the Sri Lankan tamil article are belong to Tamil racist web sites .Sangam ,tamil nation,Sydney tamil, etc..All are heavily biased extremely racists sites ! Plus, have you noticed the Jokes there ? I will be busy till this Friday, with my reports and Job-interviews..After that, I will talk to the relevant Administrator .Till then, Please keep an eye on those articles and try to keep Wikipedia from those pathetic lies.Iwazaki 会話。討論 13:59, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Notable Attacks by LTTE

Why did u add those incidents again? They have already been documented under "Terrorist attacks by LTTE". Thusiyan 17:10, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Well on the article "Terrorist attacks by LTTE", it actually says "This article does not include military and guerrilla style attacks carried out by the LTTE, which are covered in the related article Notable attacks by the LTTE."

Thus, shouldn't that article contain only those attacks. Thusiyan 20:15, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Chencholai Bombings

I added why that reference was relevant. The authenticity of the video is doubted and this is a neutral, indisputable fact. Deleting that is vandalism. Thusiyan 20:17, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

opinion and contribution requested

Hi I recently came across an article brought into notice by a fellow blogger; with the topic National Sport. There is an issue of Sri Lanka being listed under cricket as the national sport. The original initiator of the article claims that his interpretation of it is that it should be as it is as cricket is more popular than volleyball (i.e. That the section deals with popularity). I dont quite agree with this and I have been giving my reasons and citations at talk page and editing the article. However the article keeps being reverted back by the original initiator.

Since I have barely done any contribution to wikipedia, Im not sure how this should be continued or whether my point of view is correct. Seeing that you have made quite a contribution to Sri Lanka related topics, I would appreciate if you can look into this matter and either provide with me you opinion or get involved in the topic it self :)

Thanks --Kulendra 01:24, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Red cross workers article

Ahh lol, that's actually the first time I edited the article, I try my best not to be biased. Don't worry I'm not a huge fan of wasting time either. I hope to see unbiased editing from you also. Thanks Thusiyan 22:48, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Wow that's quite a debate going on there. It's funny how some things can escalate so quickly. Anyway, happy editing! Thusiyan 23:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, you did a good job but what about Duraiappa stadium mass grave. I will give you even my bottom line. Other than the category of mass grave (You dont seem to have a problem with it anymore) and the source SL monitor , I am open for any suggestions all the way from top to bottom. Hi. Thanks for supporting my request for adminship. It was successful and I am now an admin. I hope you don't mind that I brought up that specific instance to answer question 3 ... I just couldn't think of any others worth mentioning. In case you may have any lingering concerns, I want to assure you that I will not use the admin tools on any article in which I have a vested interest except in limited cases (e.g., blatant vandalism). When it comes to any content dispute or deletion debate, I will participate as an editor only. If I can ever be of help, please let me know. Cheers, Black Falcon (Talk) 05:34, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Updated DYK query On June 7, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Aranthalawa Massacre, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thanks for your contributions Snowolfd. I think the consensus is pretty clear, among "neutral parties", but we have a bit of an obstinacy program. On a brighter note, I was given a home-made pilgrimage DVD for Vesak of Indian Buddhist holy sites, which I intend to make screenshots of and upload. The resolution is not that great, but better than nothing as it stands. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:33, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
