Hoping for a bit of sage advice

Hello Snowolf,

I am not "new" to WP in the strict sense, but I have never totally rewritten an existing article either, and I would very much like to try my best to further improve the article Endangered Species Act. I have already expanded the history and listing sections, but the whole thing is, well, an embarrassment. I've rm POV and so on, but it really really really needs a complete REwrite (IMHO). I am looking for someone :) to be my bodyguard (kidding)-for advice on how to rewrite an article and not create an edit war. As you probably know, this (endangered species) is a hot potato subject. This article currently has a couple of editors in disagreement-Grundle2600 and Loonymonkey, but Grundle seems to be talking to his(her)self as far as I can tell from the talk page. My goal is to get this article as far up the assessment ladder as possible! I refer you to my one and only masterpiece as a reference to my editor abilities, Theodore Lukens -bio of a conservationist.
