Welcome[edit]

'ello there. I notice you're a new editor to Wikipedia, so welcome along. Regarding your recent article creations on Nottingham Forest players, please check this differential to see where you can improve your editing in order to make less work for other editors. Thank you, and please continue your efforts. - Dudesleeper · Talk 21:08, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the awfully nice reply. Wikipedia isn't a news page, nor is it point-of-view, so if you don't want your edits reverted, keep it neutral. - Dudesleeper · Talk 13:45, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So you keep saying. What's notable about Forest drawing their first three games 0-0? And the rest of it was, again, your own point-of-view. The "do not delete Dudesleeper" was an interesting way to round it all off. - Dudesleeper · Talk 14:07, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
None of it is notable. Which part are you not getting? - Dudesleeper · Talk 14:12, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[Slaps noggin] Yep, Blackpool have just had three goalless draws too. Oh nope, wait, they just had a run of twelve straight wins. My mistake. - Dudesleeper · Talk 14:19, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Shame we left you behind in League One too. - Dudesleeper · Talk 14:24, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I recommend the article Nottingham Forest F.C. season 2007-08 be set up for this information. Mattythewhite 14:27, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Forest have had a slow start to the season as they currently lie 18th in the Football League One table after a couple of goalless draws and a 2-1 home loss to rivals Leeds United F.C.. The Reds are at home to Leicester City F.C. in the second round of the Carling Cup on August 28, 2007 after beating Chester City F.C. 4-2 on penalties in the first round.
The only thing I would change is the "commentary" at the beginning. It might be a slow start in the eyes of someone who wants them to win every game; otherwise, it's "slow" compared to what? Also, redirecting names in lower case (emile sinclair) to the proper capitalisation (Emile Sinclair) isn't necessary because you can an enter a name in the search box all in lower case and it will still take you to the relevant page. A redirect would be useful if his name was Émile Sinclair (redirecting Emile Sinclair -> Émile Sinclair), but that isn't the case. - Dudesleeper · Talk 17:53, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 14:10, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

You continue to make point-of-view edits to Nottingham Forest F.C. and its related articles, despite warnings against doing so. Please refrain from carrying out further such edits, or I will be forced to take further action. Consider this your first warning. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please Use Edit Summaries[edit]

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

I see that you are editing the article Nottingham Forest F.C. 2007-08 season, and have asked for help on the kits. I have attempted these for you, and hope they are to your satisfaction. They look like this:

Just letting you know that it wasn't me who edited the Calderwood section of the Forest page. I tidied up the introduction to the whole Forest page but didn't touch the Calderwood part. I actually agree with you that it should be kept brief and not be an essay! Nottmlad —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 22:57, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Football League One 2007-08[edit]

I thought it would be a good idea to add more detail on a seperate article for football league one this season such as a results grid and top goalscorers on a seperate article. Can you please tell me why have you just deleted my work? Smithy33 12:50, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have not deleted Football league one 2007-08, merely redirected it. The content is still here, but Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. You are encouraged to write about minor leagues on your own website, but it is not an appropriate article for Wikipedia. Stifle (talk) 12:59, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kris Commons[edit]

Hi there, could you refer to an earlier version for the Kris Commons, the version before 22nd November 2007 because some idiot as deleted the references section and put an idiotic message on it. I do not how to put an older version over the top of a newer version. If you could do that, it would be great.

much appreciated, Smithy33 (talk) 00:05, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done, but it's possible to do this yourself as well, see Help:Revert. Stifle (talk) 11:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lewis McGugan[edit]

What's wrong with the information you deleted? That page has nothing to do with you so do not edit it. If you do delete some stuff which I believe is valid, I will put it back on so do not waste mine and yours time please. comment me back on my page Smithy33 (talk) 23:43, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, I have as much right to edit the page as you do. You do not own it. Secondly this is an encyclopaedia not a fanzine so terms such as 'Cracker' and 'mesmerising form' have no place unless you can source them. Also 'with many believing he will be a star in the future and the next big name out of the Forest academy.' is pure unsourced speculation - see WP:CRYSTAL. I will compromise with you by leaving the content in but taking out the hype. BlueValour (talk) 00:29, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I have now added a quote which says what you want to but in a sourced form. I would suggest that this is the way to go, not to threaten to edit war. BlueValour (talk) 01:08, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Garath McCleary, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Junior Agogo[edit]

Hi Smithy33. I see that you reverted the edit I made to this page and then added the following:

there is nothing wrong with this section, do not change because i do all nffc player profiles and they are all similar, do not change because i will return it to current format so don't waste your time

As I'm sure you're aware, Wikipedia is open for anyone to edit, and the pages for Nottingham Forest players are not your exclusive domain. Therefore, anyone can change anything. Additionally, the standard of English used is not of a high enough quality, there is at least one tautomer, and phrases such as "He has netted two stunning strikes..." and "...a terrific 25-yard effort..." should be regarded as POV and reworded. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
