The part I was saying was irrelevant was the part about Oliver having the ring. I honestly didn't notice the bit about Oliver being Lex the first time. When I read it the second time, I realized that you were introducing your own assumptions into the article, which is considered original research. Category:Roman Catholic Church sex abuse scandal

I would personally prefer Roman Catholic sex abuse cases instead of Sex abuse cases of the Roman Catholic Church because the first name indicates that the cases are being committed by certain deviant individuals, and not by the Church itself. The Church is comparable to a large human corporation, which includes both laity and clergy with all their faults, and so to imply that the abuse cases are of the Roman Catholic Church would be like writing Sex abuse cases of the United States of America or Sex abuse cases of the People's Republic of China, which is technically inaccurate, at least in human terms. I understand your concern, but the title isn't just referring to sexual abuse cases committed by Catholics but specifically by those in positions of authority like priests and religious. The term "Church" has many meanings, and one of them is in reference to those in authority in the Church in its other senses. I'd be happy to put together another term, but I'm not sure what it would be. There needs to be something more than just "Roman Catholic", since that would include every Roman Catholic and that's not the intent of the category, but I'm open to suggestions. What about Sex abuse cases of the Roman Catholic clergy ? If you're specifically talking about priests, religious or bishops, then the proper term is probably clergy. Don't be mixing up the clergy with the laity, that's a very pre-Vatican II thing to do, that's why at the Council the Church was specifically defined as the people of God. There is a name for such a thing, and it's called clericalism, meaning that the only thing that is taken into account by the casual observer is the administrative role of the clergy. And yet, in modern times, most dioceses are not entirely run by the clergy, but are actually managed by small teams of dedicated laypeople that effectively control the Church. I thought of that, but religious aren't necessarily clergy. Clergy = ordained. So, the term doesn't apply to religious brothers, for example. "Church" has a number of meanings, both theological and secular, so don't assume that a definition from Vatican II excludes other theological definitions (Body of Christ, Bride of Christ, Visible Sacrament of Saving Unity, etc.) or secular definitions that non-Catholics use, one of which is the so-called "institutional" Church. Remember this isn't a Catholic site, so you can't just insist on a narrowly theological (in fact, narrow even for a theological) definition (Smallvillefanatic (talk) 18:08, 12 June 2009 (UTC)).
