 You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community and visitors from the global Wikimedia Foundation for our Wiki Gala at Prime Produce in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. All are welcome! This is a sequel to the March 2023 Grand Central Salon and the March 2022 Wiki-Tent Brunch. The event will feature lightning talks and a Wiki-fashion show, for which you are encouraged to dress in your finest Wikimedia clothing and accessories (bags, buttons, even books), or clothing connected to the topics you edit on wiki projects. All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct. In addition, to participate in person you should be vaccinated and also be sure to respect others' personal space, and we may limit overall attendance size if appropriate. Meeting info:

note re wikiproject efforts and updates
Hi, thanks for noticing what i've been doing ^_^
Not many Wikipedia editors are doing what I am doing because the majority of them focus on the main page only, but very rarely in the 'maintenance' pages, such as categories and templates and their related talk pages, thus the WikiProject tagging. So yeah, usually I will look into the topic on what's best to classify them into what WikiProject, because some of WikiProjects are overlapping or redundant, and many of them have become inactive or even defunct.
As for WikiProject History, since I think that topic is really wide, so I shall keep it as the last WikiProject tagging. If there are any more specific WikiProjects, then I think we shall use that one first, e.g. WikiProject Women's history or WikiProject Military history. Except then the article/category/template is (let's say) History of Japan, then that is straight away WikiProject Japan and WikiProject History tagging. If anything related to years (e.g. 1995 in China), then I would tag WikiProject Years and WikiProject China. If there is any past event, I would focus to tag them on the topic and location, e.g. Brazil World Cup, I would tag WikiProject Football and WikiProject Brazil, although that event has passed and way in history. So I think the definition and scope of history in WikiProject History is quite flexible. Chongkian (talk) 12:05, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
