Thank you[edit]

Thank you so much for all your articles. I was just reading the article about the Shimabara Rebellion that you wrote way back in 2003. I was (for the millionth time) amazed at how many topics Wikipedians have created. Thank you for all your work over the years. You've created something amazing. The Original Barnstar
Your name came up on a Wikipediocracy thread about solid content writers who don't get the credit they deserve and I just wanted to drop by and do a little of that. Thanks for your work on behalf of The Project! Carrite (talk) 02:34, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

At the time he was not notable, so the redirect was understandable. Now there is a college basketball player by this name. Whether he is considered notable by Wikipedia standards I'm not sure.— Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:54, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your list of missing geographic terms[edit]

I have created an article for Washlands. Hopefully it won't be deleted this time.--Robert EA Harvey (talk) 07:32, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Editor of the Week[edit]

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week, for being a "solid content veteran". Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:Buster7 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

I nominate Skysmith, a solid content veteran that does not always get his well-deserved credit. He is unassuming, enthusiastic and positive and, importantly, avoids the dispute pages. He has generated hundreds (if not thousands?) of articles since 2003 including biographies of obscure but deserving individuals. With 85% of his 48000+ edit to articles, he deserves our thanks for all his hard work on behalf of The Project and our readers.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

Proposed deletion of What If the Moon Didn't Exist[edit]

The article What If the Moon Didn't Exist has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of meeting WP:NBOOK or WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Where do I request articles on certain fish?[edit]

Hi, Is this the right place to ask for articles on certain fish? I noticed that there are no articles in English on Glyptothorax kashmirensis and Glyptothorax kudremukhensis, two critically endangered fish on the IUCN redlist. Thanks. -- Cpt.a.haddock (talk) 10:39, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • You can add them to proper places if you wish - Skysmith (talk) 21:35, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :) (Oddly, I didn't receive an alert for your reply.) -- Cpt.a.haddock (talk) 19:34, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Esteem (company) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
