Adoption[edit]

How's life? Have you thought of joining a wikiproject? Also you can find some userboxes to put on your user page to tell everyone a bit more about yourself. Ta! frummer 17:10, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I just added some userboxes and am looking into wikiprojects. Zenpickle 04:50, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ramona pages[edit]

I love your Ramona Quimby pages. I'm working on Beverly Cleary pages, and what you did is a big help. Check out this template I've added to the BC pages like Picky-picky. - Peregrine Fisher 07:02, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great! I'll use the template. Should the Ramona Quimby series tag point to the Ramona Geraldine Quimby page or the Ramona (series) page? I'd also like to put all the current edition book covers on the book pages. Zenpickle 01:23, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I changed it. Hopefully someday we'll have series pages for Henry Huggins and Ralph S. Mouse. - Peregrine Fisher 01:33, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's chapters on the web at http://www.beverlycleary.com/books/ramona_books.html. They make good external links like the one I added to Ramona the Pest. - Peregrine Fisher 02:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good call. I'm adding more book details and ISBNs, and I'll add the two missing book pages. Zenpickle 02:50, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello![edit]

You have requested adoption. May I adopt you? Sr13 (T|C) Editor review 07:31, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, please do! Thanks. Zenpickle 15:02, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:BeezusandRamona Dockray.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BeezusandRamona Dockray.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. You were right[edit]

Sorry for my snarky remark on the edit history of Girls Preparatory School. You were right about the spelling of "alumnae". I'll get started on those prep courses right away.--Daveswagon 23:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania in Atlanta![edit]

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 08:52, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know I did see your user page, and maybe wondered if you could help with more computer-related things, like maybe contacts for translation of documents into Korean or Japanese or anything like that. Obviously you may not know how, but I figure someone you know might. In any case, it's always good to touch base to let you know we're planning a Wikimania for Atlanta, even if you don't live there anymore. ;) Mike H. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BeezusandRamona Dockray.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:BeezusandRamona Dockray.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Wikipedia Campus Ambassadors wanted in Troy, Alabama[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian in Alabama. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors to help with Wikipedia assignments at Troy University, which will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester. The role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

I know Alabama is a big state, but if you happen to live near Troy and you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone else from Troy who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 16:16, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:BourdainSkull.png or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
