November 2011[edit]

Hello! I'm a bot created by another Wikipedia editor. I wanted to let you know that I removed a link that you recently added to the page MyBroadband here. I did this because http://cyberstalkers.tk is probably inappropriate for an encyclopedia.

We appreciate your help in making Wikipedia better for everyone. If I made a mistake, feel free to undo my edit. If you have any questions, you can ask at the Help desk.

Thank you! --XLinkBot (talk) 14:04, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hoagland[edit]

Take your changes to the talkpage, but good luck, as they seem to violate our policies on WP:BLP. As for being a "fanboy", personally I think the guy is a wackjob, but that is beside the point. Follow the policies in this matter, or risk being blocked for violating them. Heiro 09:45, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@Skelletor: The procedures at Wikipedia may appear mysterious, but the reason things work the way they do will become apparent on contemplating what would happen here if anyone can edit meant that anyone can add whatever they want and have it retained. There are thousands of controversial subjects with fanboys on both sides, and procedures such as WP:BLP are designed to cope with that situation. Johnuniq (talk) 09:51, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

December 2011[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Richard C. Hoagland. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:50, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
