Comment[edit]

Killers from Space is a little improved now, I changed it to a start class for now. It will need alot more work before the next class rating of B. RobJ1981 19:32, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Film naming convention[edit]

Hi Silverscreen, thanks for your contributions to the Film Project. Please note that naming film articles should be "So and so (19xx film)" (not movie). Cheers! Hoverfish 12:30, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Movie sourcing[edit]

Use IMDB for a source, and in most cases: official sites. But since it's an older movie, there is no site like that, so IMDB should work fine. RobJ1981 21:23, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tommy Rall[edit]

Sorry, the only proof I have is a signed program by him and a photo will appear in BHS 2006-07 yearbook. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Teofil Bartlomiej (talkcontribs) 00:06, 10 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Abbott and Costello[edit]

The sites limelightmovieart.com and www.clown-ministry.com are spam sites. In addition, there were something like 8 clown-ministry entries, when the max for any sites should be 1. As for fan sites, they should be kept down to an absolute minimum. I usually go for one well-representative fan site or none at all. The baseball hall of fame link was brief and wasn't notable enough to be included. Impressionist links should never be included, since those are pure advertisement. Radio logs are available in many places, and many are more complete than the one that was included. As for app.com and the web.archive.org links, they were dead when I tested them. --PhantomS 15:32, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Bellaver in naked city.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bellaver in naked city.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Kershner Films[edit]

I am sorry for the late reply, as I have been away for quite some time. The notability of those Kershner films is based upon the fact that they were theatrically released, however, I created them quite some time ago, admittedly, for the sake of the Kershner template. I'm afraid I haven't seen those films either, so my efforts would be as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. Sorry. ....(Complain)(Let us to it pell-mell) 03:46, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Benchley[edit]

Howdy! I'm going to be putting some significant work into Robert Benchley in the coming days/weeks. I know you expressed some interest in improving the article, so I figured I'd let you know if you're still interested. --badlydrawnjeff talk 18:00, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Meredith.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Meredith.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Dermot 15:42, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Abbott_and_costello.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Abbott_and_costello.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 13:15, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Jack Daly[edit]

The total content of this article at the time of deletion was: == Jack Daly == Jack Daly was born in Brighton in the UK. Hopefully to make a computer company.

The Daly you are talking about is a completely different person, so if you want to create an article on the actor, more power to you! Create a stub and let me know if you need any help. Thanks for keeping an eye out, ˉˉanetode╦╩ 08:17, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I guess it was a bad link and an even worse article. I'll see what I can do about the actor Mr. Daly.--Silverscreen 15:58, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:RallPortraitSmall.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:RallPortraitSmall.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 07:12, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Fields and lou.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Fields and lou.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Naked city.jpg. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
