Daddy Cool

Hey! I was just watching Spicks and Specks, and Ross Wilson just happened to mention the Daddy Cool wikipedia article on there. You and dan did the work there i've noticed, gave me a bit of a kick anyway so i thought i'd let you know :) k.i.a.c (talktome - contribs) 11:56, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Actually, he was questioning something i think. He said that WP said that they had performed at the first ever Sunbury festival, but he couldn't remember this happening. I can't see it in the article now, so he may have read it a while ago and it has since been removed. Still kinda cool, having an icon like that reading an article about himself, written by people like us :) k.i.a.c (talktome - contribs) 12:23, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah he also said that, I can vouch for that. Then Adam Hills quoted someone in the Aussie crowd (or the whole crowd?) as calling Queen poofters or something. Might be worth downloading the ep and checking it out if it's usable as a source. If not, it was a pretty good episode for laughs! k.i.a.c (talktome - contribs) 13:12, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

ARIA awards

Hey I see you've taken up the slack on the ARIA award pages. I got started on them last year, got sidetracked and never got back to it. Glad to see you've taken over (and are doing a fine job at that). Cheers Manning (talk) 14:55, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, thanks for that. That was one of the reasons I requested to the council to create WP:AUSMUS. As to the formatting, I really like the formatting of the table I used. Now, as to consistency, across WP:MUSIC, tables are somewhat expected, but not mandated. What I would suggest, if it's not too much trouble, is leaving the '97 page as is, but over the course of time changing the following to its format. Once you get into the hang of it, it's actually pretty easy. I used to dread it, but I'm fine with tables now. --rm 'w avu 06:02, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Your edits are, as usual, up to their high standards. Have found a reference to P&D tour of Canada (around late 1989/early 1990) which states that the tour was sponsored by the King Kong Condom Company! Also found reference in a blog that they toured Canada in the winter of 1991. Am trying to discover whether P&D toured Canada once or twice and then work it into the article. Dan arndt (talk) 07:53, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

I see you deleted the comments about P&D and the NZ band The Warners. I am guessing that the comments came from this article but have been unable to find any independent verifiable source. It does however tie in with the fact that P&D did have their own label so may be they did have a pressing plant as well. Dan arndt (talk) 08:07, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Marty and Murray are different people according to liner notes and pics in 13 Tasteless

Thanks for your help. I only can improve my contributions from here.

    Thanks Shaidar,
Yes I have a passion for Australian Punk Rock and Punk Rock in general.
There has been plenty written about punk in the two major cities but Brisbane seems to be
the more interesting to me. By the way, all previous mentioned muscians on VL's site are
also mentioned on the "13 Tasteless Masterpieces" cd. Should I put them back on the list of
members, that's where I got the names from originally?
I will seek out "long way to the top" book. Sounds good. Next job to fix The Leftovers...
    Dr.warhol (talk) 06:52, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

By the looks of it both were members but for short periods of time. 2 photos with Murray. One with the band and one by himself on the 3rd. last page of 13T.M. He is credited with being in the band late '89 to early 1990. Marty has one photo being with the band on page 11. He is credited on the Buzzsaw Popstar E.P. Grace Knight

Well lets see what we can do...

  1. am still checking for a birth date
  2. for some reason I think it is Valerie but will try and confirm
  3. i think that you pretty well covered the pre-eurogliders history will help work on the post
  4. not certain but she may have married lynch twice
  5. children - has at least one grown up son not certain whether this was Jackie
  6. haven't found any - only co-writes such as "Moving Away", her solo stuff generally are covers of older songs. with the exception of Zeitgeist, which she co-wrote all the songs for.
As for the others have added an extra book title she has written, you've obviously found The Age and Sydney Morning Herald articles & not certain of her sister's name ((but will search). Dan arndt (talk) 08:58, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
  • If we could lay our hands on I Wanted to Be a Jazz Musician by John Sharpe, which contains a section on GK, we may be able to find some more info.
I have been able to find her father is called Charles.
Pretty certain that she has the one son (Jackie ?), who is probably about 20 and lives in Sydney.
Still haven't tracked down a place of birth or date of birth. Dan arndt (talk) 01:17, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

West

This is actually embarassing as I actually know this record - may have been in my brothers collection.... Anyway it was a compliation album put out by local radio station 96fm containing a number of up & coming unsigned Perth bands most of whom were probably never heard of again apart from Eurogliders, Helicopters, The Manikins, Hot Biscuit Band (Luke & Katy Steele's dad's band)... My guess is that "Should Have Been There" was either a song that never saw light of day or may have been an early version of "Heaven (Must Be There)". Dan arndt (talk) 09:11, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Did you see that a new article was created for the AIR Charts? Not bad for a 'new' editor, he has requested feedback - thought you & I might give him some assistance, if your up to it. Dan arndt (talk) 02:06, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Have been working on fixing the discography for The Waifs in my sandbox but have seem to come unstuck with my old foe - wiki-tables! Could you have a look and try and find where I am going wrong. I want to create two columns under Australian peak chart positions one for the ARIA Charts and the other for the AIR Charts - any way you can help me? Dan arndt (talk) 04:20, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the assist - don't know what I'd do without the helping hand. Deleted the reference to Kent Report (it came with the original cut & paste but forgot to delete it). As for the EPs most of them are actually offically according to The Waifs & Jarrah Records actually singles so I have listed them that way. Any thanx for helping out.

Mental As Anything

Was starting work on putting together a discography for Mental As Anything but of course my tables still don't make any sense. Anyway to cut a long story short the article itself needs work - has already got a couple of tags (mainly need for citations) - and given that we have already bumped into the Mentals before (Oz for Africa, Australian Made etc) I thought that they may be worthy of a make over... what ya think? Dan arndt (talk) 04:54, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Do you want me to dump my album charts over in your sandbox rather than keep the albums and singles seperate. As for EPs need to check what the WP standard for them - think its a seperate chart - however given that EPs chart on the singles chart it makes more senjse to include them on the singles table rather than seperate. What no comment about my psychic abilities? Not a big JPY fan but will admit that he has provided a lot to Australian music and his artilce is well in need of an overhaul. As for Kev Carmody fully agree as well with his nomination - when we were doing PK I got a hold of a copy of Cannot Buy My Soul worth a serious listen... The Dingoes is a bit of a suprise packet - did some work on that article a while back - interesting in seeing the justification of their inclusion. So much work, so little time. Hi there - there's a problem another editor has identified with your proposed hook at DYK, and I had a quick hunt for something that would fix it, but failed. It's a great article you've put together, so if you can propose an ALT hook, it might still get featured, but you'll need to be quick. Cheers. hamiltonstone (talk) 10:26, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

GANGgajang

Have noticed that an editor, User:Nouse4aname, has recently moved GANGgajang to Ganggajang, when I attempted to revert the move the user cited 'Correct capitalisation as per WP:MOSTM and WP:NC'. I've checked WP:NC and it would appear that based on the overarching objectives, using the most easily recognized name; using the mane most prevalent in reliable sources; and using the name most readers are likely to search by that the article should be GANGgajang not Ganggajang. I've also had a look at WP:NC (common names) which would seem to support my view - anyhow I was hoping that some people who are older and wiser than me might be able to give some clear directions on the correct name for this article. Orphaned non-free image (File:ChantooziesInner.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:ChantooziesInner.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Replaceable fair use File:WSaddington01.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:WSaddington01.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 23:45, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

John Butler Trio Discography

Have been trying to put together this discography but as usual am having trouble with formatting the charts - any chance of you dropping over and having a look for me. BTW the updates to the Diesel article are really motoring along (pardon the pun) - inspired me to do some work on Innocent Bystanders - not that there is a lot of verifiable references around to use. Dan arndt (talk) 05:36, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Was hoping for assistance on the albums section - trying to get the columns split properly. Dan arndt (talk) 07:01, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the assist - will work on a suitable worded lead before creating article. Was thinking in the new year that Jenny Morris maybe a suitable collaboration project. Dan arndt (talk) 07:39, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi, this GAN review Talk:Crowded House/GA2 has been on hold quite a while. Do you feel that it is ready to close? Thanks! —mattisse (Talk) 18:55, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Jenny Morris

Have started work on her early history - just trying to make some sense on a chronological basis - will fill in the various facts with references as I go. (BTW saw your edits on The Triffids - have got a copy of the SBS Great Australian Albums series which has a wealth of info on it & am also trying to get a hold of Vagabond Holes a biography on Dave McComb - so will get back to that one later). Dan arndt (talk) 04:59, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Have managed to find some differences in the chart postions for some of her singles - any chance of you going through and putting in the correct info... Dan arndt (talk) 03:25, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
My bad about including the reference - in saying that have you had a look at the AllMusic bio - it states 'Wife of Australian singer/songwriter Paul Kelly' pretty fundamental error if ever I saw one. Dan arndt (talk) 04:28, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Stick with Home Economics teacher (newspaper article as opposed to promo bio) - and Dekadance (the cassette version) was released in April, 1984 - a friend of mine had a copy, apparently they are collectors items now - not that he probably still has it. Dan arndt (talk) 05:31, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Did you know that husband Paul Clarke did the photography for The Swing, which JM was one of the backing vocalists? He was also the director (together with JM) for the video of "Pieces of My Heart". Dan arndt (talk) 06:17, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Not to certain about her guitar skills - Have been trying to track down the credits for her various albums (according to AllMusic she only provides the vocals for Body & Soul and Shiver). Interesting enough The Swing was the only INXS recording that she appeared on, although she toured with them numerous times. BTW have sent a correction notice off to AllMusic regarding her bio. Dan arndt (talk) 05:49, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
The article still needs work - particularly in respect to the phrasing of sections of 'Later years: 1995–current' some of it still reads like a promo for her releases. Dan arndt (talk) 05:49, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
According to AusCharts] both "Break in the Weather" and "She Has to be Loved" were both accredited 'Gold' record status. Any idea where we can get a hold of the ARIA yearbook for 1990? Dan arndt (talk) 09:04, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
As the various releases are accessible on FreeDB or MusicBrainz do we need to verify them? The only other sources are various music sale/order sites like Chaos.com etc. I actually managed to get a hold of Listen: The Very Best of Jenny Morris and have updated the article on the compilation album from that. Also found a reference to JM's "Downtime" video - do you think its worth including? Dan arndt (talk) 05:59, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Want to have a go at fixing up her studio albums. Probably could do with a Template as well. Dan arndt (talk) 07:03, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Is it worth doing a peer review of the article or do you think its a way off being GA status (and not worth the effort?). Will work up an article for her latest album. Dan arndt (talk) 01:28, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Finished the article for Clear Blue in Stormy Skies and have now listed JM for a peer review — fingers crossed and we'll see what happens... Probably should revamp the The Crocodiles article and maybe create a new one for QED whilst we're at it. Dan arndt (talk) 03:00, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Created Jenny Morris discography and trimmed Jenny Morris Discography. Tweaked QED a little. Currently checking spelling & unverified claims.shaidar cuebiyar ( talk | contribs ) 20:14, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Checked spelling/grammar. Have queries re: names of some people. Sally Zwartz and Jonathon Swatz. Both last names are similar & I'm not sure whether they're related (seems likely with such a rare name and both in Wellington with Morris but no OR allowed). Also Ricky Morris or Rikki Morris? Is he related to Jenny?shaidar cuebiyar ( talk | contribs ) 20:45, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
It's Jonathan Zwartz - he is a well known bass and double bass artist - performed for I Am Joes Music, Dog Trumpet was a member of the backing band for Kate Ceberano, Grace Knight, Shannon Noll & Casey Donovan amongst others. He is listed as an Australian musician but it would appear he was born in New Zealand. Not certain about Sally Zwartz or whether she is related (not enough info around). As for Rick Morris - still checking his relationship with JM (he doesn't appear to be a brother). Dan arndt (talk) 09:32, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Done some research and Rick Morris is Rikki Morris, who was actually the sound technican for The Crocodiles before he became a member of the band. According to all the infor I can find out about him, he doesn't appear to be a relation of JM. Interesting enough he co-wrote the B-side, "Checkmate", to the QED single, "Everywhere I Go". Still trying to see what I can find out about Sally... (unfortunately there is not much to go on). Dan arndt (talk) 00:44, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the word of encouragement - have renamed in accordance with WP naming conventions (thanks again for the assist). Dan arndt (talk) 04:35, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Bored?

If you have some time on your hands then you might want to check out the Australian Collaboration of the Month, essentially a group of editors are going through Australian articles which are unreferenced and inserting references... its actually a mammoth project, with over 2,000 articles on the list. There a number on the list which are music related, and are fairly easy to reference such as Adam Brand, Ash Grunwald, Ashley Naylor etc. Dan arndt (talk) 09:11, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Unfortunately R/L has interferred with Wiki-editing lately - so haven't worked on too many unreferenced BLPs. Noticed your handiwork on Kathy Wemyss - good one. Thought I switch from Australian Country & Western (Adam Brand, Adam Harvey) to more rock (Andy Kent) and roots (Ash Grunwald). Trouble is rather than just add references I feel the need to flesh out the article - give it some substance. Which slows my progress down dramatically. Anyhow got a copy of David McComb's recent biography so may end up re-editing that article as well as the article on The Triffids. Guess I just need to focus! Dan arndt (talk) 09:54, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
I know, I know - don't work well with deadlines (love them as the whoosh by). Can you check out my McFarlane ref can't check on work computer. Dan arndt (talk) 10:18, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
Ooops my lack of communication skills is amazing (& here I thought youwere a mind reader) - the McF is on Andy Kent & Davey Lane may need to be You Am I. Dan arndt (talk) 01:36, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Jenny

Sorry for dropping the ball and letting you do all the corrections from the PR - looks like its getting in shape for a GA nomination though. Dan arndt (talk) 00:39, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Have closed off the Peer Review and am now going to nominate the article for GA status. Thanks for going through and addressing all the issues to date - hopefully it will mean relatively smooth sailing through the GA process (though we may have some editors who have diferent opinions to those doing the PR). Australian Crawl query

Hi I have been reading the Australian Crawl (band) article and found that you seem to have done a lot of editing to make it a suitable article. The Final Wave album was recorded at the Melbourne concert but this was not their last concert. The last concert was at the Perth Entertainment Centre. There was an story in a Perth newspaper about everyone expecting their last concert to be in Melbourne but they had decided to have it in Perth. James Reyne also said this at the concert, which I attended. Last Sunday, I heard a radio announcer say that Australian Crawl's last concert was in Melbourne, so I looked it up and found that here and many other websites say that it was. The source cited here is Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop, I haven't seen the article. Unfortunately I only have my memory, which has been confirmed by several others, including a band member. I haven't edited the page because I dont have a source. It seems coneone has changed history. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks Woddawik (talk) 15:38, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

My brother went to the Final Wave concert at the Perth Entertainment Centre - even bought me a tour t-shirt. However I don't recall it being the final final concert - will trawl the archives and see what I can come up with. Dan arndt (talk) 01:16, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Relevant McFarlane entry says, Nevertheless, the band had run its course and Australian Crawl broke up at the beginning of 1986. The band's final concert on 27 January 1986 produced the album The Final Wave which came out in October. See here (Aside: current url in article points to a Word doc hosted at a Brazilian site: I'll fix this url asap). Which does not specify Melbourne. While Australian Crawl article says The band performed its final concert on 27 January 1986. The concert was recorded and released as the live album The Final Wave in October. I don't see Melbourne here either.shaidar cuebiyar ( talk | contribs ) 05:06, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
That's it that's the shirt I had! Well it wasn't a shirt but a tank top but that's the one! My guess is that Perth was the last concert on their national tour as it is usually either the last or first spot on any tour of Australia, depending on where the act is coming from (i.e overseas acts). Am still blown away about the t-shirt... Dan arndt (talk) 08:57, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
You're so clever! I have that T-shirt, well, mine's a short sleeve windcheater, but can't locate it at the moment. Alas I was sure it had that dates on the back, and it would solve the mystery. It is in chronological order but that can't be proven. One day I shall try to get the Battye library and find the newspaper article, it was in the now defunct Western Mail. Thanks for your help. Woddawik (talk) 23:27, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

BTW, clearly... that article/url which states Jan 1986 was the last concert is incorrect as the T-shirt states the concerts were Jan-Feb, therefore the last concert was in February? yay? Woddawik (talk) 23:37, 8 February 2010 (UTC) Thank you for your kind welcome, I'll try to be as useful as possible, once I work out what i'm doing!Woddawik (talk) 10:24, 11 February 2010 (UTC) Found it! Dan arndt is helping me to correct the error. Thanks again Woddawik (talk) 02:00, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Yay! Done! Thank you and sorry for giving you more work.Woddawik (talk) 03:37, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Just what order is that Tshirt? Should this concert be on the Perth Entertainment page too? Also should the reference for the related pages (James Reyne, Simon Binks, Brad Robinsons be changed to the Western Mail article?Woddawik (talk) 07:34, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Didn't think that the T-shirt was a reliable reference, particularly without dates. Dan arndt (talk) 02:10, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Missy Higgins GA Review

Hi, I've started making changes to the article per your review, I hope you don't mind. It just struck me that maybe you'd rather wait until you've finished, so if that's the case I will! --BelovedFreak 11:52, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Renaming "the"

I did consider "The Vampire Lovers" however, most records and articles on the band are credited as merely "Vampire Lovers". I would have to somehow make contact with band to ask which they would prefer, as some records do have the "THE" moniker title. If you still believe "The" is more appropriate, then I think it would be quite acceptable. Dr.warhol (talk) 23:22, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thank You!
For your amazingly thorough GA review of Missy Higgins and incredible amount of help with improving it! BelovedFreak 00:06, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

I can't thank you enough for all your help & putting up with all my questions. I've only nominated one article for GA before this one, but I've observed quite a lot, and your's was probably the most thorough I've seen. A lesser reviewer would have simply passed it (which given the amount of improvement it's had now, would be wrong!) or just quick failed it, seeing so many improvements to be made. So, I'm glad I got you reviewing. I've also learned lots of tips & tricks too that should help me with the discography apart from anything else, so cheers! --BelovedFreak 00:06, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

uBLPs

I agree that as we get closer to the end of each group of uBLPs the delete % will rise. The latest list has gone up in two ways - firstly from the recent tagging of unreferenced articles and those that were missing the WP Australia tag, and secondly because I used Category:Australians by musical occupation this time, not just Category:Australian musicians, so it captures producers etc as well. Finally, a huge "thanks mates" for, along with Dan, virtually clearing out the entire music section. If only we had a film/tv buff equally as dedicated! Great work. CheersThe-Pope (talk) 01:32, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

APRA Top 30

Was thinking after working on "Quasimodo's Dream" that all the top 30 songs should have their own article - given their significance, seems a shame that they are otherwise shelved in obscurity... Dan arndt (talk) 00:30, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Give me a break... Was just getting around to fix the references. BTW "The Loved One" is a little light on for references (by your standards) - whats happening? :D Dan arndt (talk) 01:59, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks was just about to get into some "Science Fiction" and you beat me to the punch! Will have to have a go at "Even When I’m Sleeping" but could do with a hand - are you able to check out the McFarlane reference as I can't get access (work filters some websites). Help I've lost my link at the Aus-Charts Forum - so I can't check up the Kent Chart positions - can you have a look for me mate. Thx. Dan arndt (talk) 01:40, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

I know that there first album, Sunnyboys, charted nationally (#13?) and according to the article, "Along With You" reached #15 on the singles chart not #28. The second album Indivduals also charted (#19?) and possibly their third album, Get Some Fun, though I don't think that any others charted. Love some help.Dan arndt (talk) 06:22, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Not certain which of the IMDb refs you are looking to replace?

  1. 26 - Starstruck: can probably find alt ref
  2. 42 - Young Enstein: similar
  3. 56 - Everynight...Everynight: ditto
  4. 69 - Filmography: do you propose we find references for every film he's been the composer or been involved in the soundtrack
  5. 70 - Awards: I think stands up for itself (reliable) would be a pain to have to reference each award.
  6. 71 - Kaarin Fairfax: Can probably find alt refs for her appearances in One Night the Moon, The Harp in the South and Poor Man's Orange if necessary.

Have started putting together potential alternative references in your sandbox. In my searches I found out that Kaarin Fairfax also had a bit part in Young Einstein - check it out! Dan arndt (talk) 04:17, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

You might want to check that all the links from the references work - am about to head off for the weekend - so if you want to work out which ones are ok and insert them in the PK article then go ahead. Dan arndt (talk) 06:29, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

PR of Love in Motion

Thanks you very much for your peer review of Love in Motion (Anika Moa album); it has proved very helpful. However, in the track listing section you suggested using the APRA refs. These are fantastic references, and I will use these in the future, but how shall I cite them in the article? A string of ten references will look quite odd, as will a citation after every song title. What, in your opinion, is the best way to do this? Adabow (talk) 09:38, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Commons invitation

Hi, I transferred the edited version of File:Paul Kelly 2007.jpg to Commons. I noted the changes that you made but since you don't have an account there the link to your name goes nowhere. You should consider going to Special:MergeAccount and then go on Commons, which will automatically create an account for you there. On Commons you can upload free images, fix mistakes, etc. and the images or other files are accessible for all Wikimedia projects. To learn more check Help:Unified login. Thanks for that :D Hekerui (talk) 21:11, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi, you might have noticed that I reverted your edit. I did it because the information was elsewhere in the article, and because the source you used isn't really appropriate. It's just the link to the APRA webpage, and says nothing about the actual award. The kicker part about it is, though, while I was in the middle of the revert, I literally had an edit conflict with an anonymous IP vandalizing the article again--and it was about poor Greg! Anyway, wanted to explain. --Christine (talk) 03:00, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Bill McKenzie sandbox

Thanks for your offer of help with (eventually) creating a (W.A.) Bill McKenzie article. I thought this might be fairly easy because Bill was my father-in-law and therefore I have a fair amount of knowledge. The trouble is getting it referenced/cited. My husband has a copy of a verbal history from Fremantle Library and there is biological cutting available at the NLA.
I did the helpme thing, then looked at the sandbox, and it's completely blank! Basically, I don't know where to start, so I've delayed doing anything.Woddawik (talk) 17:08, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Wow! Thank you for doing that. I'm rather busy but I'll try to look at on the weekend. May I enter his birth and death dates, etc from my own knowledge or do I have to find/cite proof? Cheers and thanks again.Woddawik (talk) 16:22, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:49, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

It appears that I am as confused as you are on the recent FARs closed by SandyGeorgia [1]: --> [2]. It appears that the FARs were under review, things were being discussed, concerns addressed and ... ALL OF THE SUDDEN the reviews were closed without reason.

This is my first FA nomination so perhaps you have more experience here but I am actually at a total loss as to what just happened.radek (talk) 03:11, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I just wanted to say: articles that are under review at FAC are already among the very best Wiki has to offer so don't be too disappointed. The process suffers from a lack of reviews, this is why I guess lots of nominations have to be archived. Hekerui (talk) 10:38, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Apologies for being AWOL on the PK FAR - was thinking that the article on Noiseworks (and associated articles) looks a little under done, want to swing over and take a look. I think that there should be enough info around to get it up to a decent standard. Dan arndt (talk) 04:33, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for adding the authors of "Take Me Back" when I searched APRA the list was too long for it to be displayed. PK4FA

Have just been watching the DVD of Triple J's PK Tribute Concert, Before Too Long - in the extras there was a whole series of interviews with the performers explaining the influence that PK had on them over the years. It also contained interviews with PK talking about his history etc. Not certain how to include any of this within the article but would probably help if we could. Dan arndt (talk) 01:24, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Thought that might be the case <sigh> now I'm going to have to go through and transcribe some of these interviews <sigh> will re-watch the video over the weekend and see what I can come up with - was planning to take a few days off work and relax down south. Dan arndt (talk) 04:04, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
The DVD didn't include a bonus CD, the second DVD contains extras, essentially interviews with the participants and PK. I'm pretty certain that the CD release of the concert, included a CD of PK's performance (will check). Am not certain whether to include it in his discography as the bonus CD isn't released in its own right. Maybe we should include a section under the heading tribute albums in both the discography and template. Need to check other FL discographies and see whether they include tribute albums. Dan arndt (talk) 09:04, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Have checked the CD release, it contained three CDs - the first two CDs were of various artists performing PK's songs, with the 3rd CD featuring the original songs performed by Paul Kelly. Still of the opinion that it can't be included as a PK release given it is only one CD out of a set of three and was released separetly. Dan arndt (talk) 09:11, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Run to Paradise

I've found an article that is in so much need of help, even I don't know where to start. Purity of Essence

Went and saw HG late last year and they previewed some of the songs off the album. I remember hearing "Crackin' Up" for the first time and thinking that they still had it. Actually the most memorable moment was when Roddy Radalj got up on stage - the first time that he had played with the band since 1982. I'm pretty certain that the song they played on stage was "Leilani". Anyway was a great day - sunny afternoon in one of the Swan Valley wineries. Dan arndt (talk) 07:54, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Discographies

Serves me right for not checking whether I was walking on an actual article or in my sandbox. Have tried to set things back as they should be, reverted edits on JBT & set up re-draft of Triffids. Feel free to dip your oar in on the Triffids Discography or JBT Discography - both need decent leads (many hands make light work - at least that's the case if you're an electrician). Dan arndt (talk) 10:01, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Have just been working on fixing the article on Goanna & have been trying to find whether McFarlane has anything on the band that I could reference. Is it possible for you to check - would appreciate you running your eye over the article & seeing if there any copy-edit changes you want to make.
