Looking for help with the article about Accenture

Hello Shahvr, I'm reaching out to you because I see that you've previously made a few housekeeping edits to the article for Accenture. I'm currently working on behalf of Accenture to make some updates and improvements to their article. Because of my financial COI, I don't make edits directly. Instead, I run them by volunteer editors to make sure everything looks okay, and ask that they actually implement the changes. I've been working with another editor on the Accenture article, User:FeralOink, but they seem to be busy, and there's also one open issue at Accenture that I'd like to get another opinion about. If you have time, do you think you could take a look at Talk:Accenture and see what you think?

Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Shahvr, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

• You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
• Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
• Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
• If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
• In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
• Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. Respected Administrators & Editors, it is a bit humiliating to get blocked on Wikipedia because of my unawareness from its every policy. I am sorry for my all unintentional mistakes. However, I am taking this opportunity to improve my understanding of Wikipedia Copyright Policy and also want to put my points for some scenarios. 1.) Media: I agree that I don't have clear understanding for uploading media files on Wikipedia, so I have already stopped to upload any kind of media file on Wikipedia for a long time. In fact, I don't have any issue if you blocked my account on MediaWiki as in future I don't want to upload any media file. 2.) Text: Since 2012, I have made many edits so it may be possible that in some cases there were copy-paste with the references and the information were not written in my own words. But check my all recent changes I have done. Example Mumbai , Surat or Startup company . Also check the quality of references I added till now. I thought it should be fine if some article is already present on wikipedia then I could add one sentence about that subject to another article without reference. Example : I added one sentence about Gir National Park in the article of India. But I was wrong and I am accepting that. Till now if someone leave message on my talk page about my fault then I always try to improve it. Agreed, I may have made mistakes but those are unintentional. I am not defending my faults but just don't count me irresponsible editor or contributor. In case if you change your mind and unblock my Wikipedia account then I assure you that in future I won't make those mistakes again and will comply accordingly with Wikipedia copyright policy. You were not blocked because you were unaware of every policy. We don't expect users to be aware of all policies- though we do expect that you communicate with others when your edits are challenged or policies are pointed out to you. However, copyright issues can potentially put Wikipedia in legal jeopardy, so it is important to address such matters. @331dot: Copyright is different from country to country and it is entitled to the original creators or authors or publishers or owners as their intellectual property rights. It means that it prevents others to use them unless a use is considered fair (non-commercial use) or a permission is taken from their owners.

In context of Wikipedia, if I am editing or adding text to Wikipedia, then I need to verify the re-use/re-distribution policies & copyright permissions of the sources (be it online new-site, book or other). Even if I am the original author of the content, I must have to license them under Creative Commons License however copyright is never transferred to Wikipedia and I still retain copyright to materials I contribute to Wikipedia, be it text and media. For public domain works (all the creative work to which copyrights are inapplicable now like some famous artists’, scientists' or engineers' work), I don't need to take any permission as their copyright is explicitly disclaimed. Always give credit to the author(s) whenever you edit or create Wiki pages and never misuse or infringe the copyrights of them. Because any misuse or infringement creates legal liabilities and seriously hurts the reputation of Wikipedia. Always write the content in your words thereby creating a new copyrighted work which can be included in Wikipedia without much trouble. Copying within Wikipedia is even required the source credit or edit summary at the destination page as it requires supplementary attribution to indicate it. Though Wikipedia server is hosted in the US and is bound to comply with US copyright law, it has many international projects, users & contributors (like me) so some may still be under copyright law in the source country and in other countries.
