Rickover Naval Academy is a public 4–year high school located in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. The Academy is operated by the Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago NJROTC program and was dedicated in 2005.Rickover is located one the third floor of Nicholas Senn High School The Academy is named in honor of United States Navy Admiral Hyman G. Senn High School[edit]

With support from former Mayor Richard M. Daley, Senator Dick Durbin, Alderman Mary Ann Smith, and Chicago Public Schools, a wing of the Senn was converted into the Rickover Naval Academy, named for Admiral Hyman G. Rickover. Dedicated on November 2005, this is the fourth military school in the Chicago Public Schools system.[citation needed] The academy is a college preparatory school. ref name="Sun Times SotW"/>
