Edit of List of "Stalinists"[edit]

I noticed that you changed the order of the last list, putting Siqueros (who I added) at the top.
Can you explain this? Is this some convention that I've not encountered?
CPMCE 01:24, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish-language naming convention includes two last names: the paternal and the maternal, in that order. Alphabetically, Alfaro Siqueiros is listed first because his paternal last name begins with A. —Sesel 05:22, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Featured article candidacy for an Hugo Chavez subarticle[edit]

I noticed you have listed yourself in Category:Leftist Wikipedians. That said, you will probably be interested in an Hugo Chávez Featured Article Candidacy (FAC). Chavez himself happens to be a socialist politician. As usual, please use your own higher judgment in deciding how to vote on this FAC, if you should decide to devote a few seconds to the matter. Regards, ← SARAVASK 01:52, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There is an ongoing attempt to define state intervention in the economy as inherently fascist through the creation of an article entitled economic fascism. I have started an AfD on that article based on the argument that "economic fascism" is (a) too vague to ever be properly defined and (b) an inherently POV term of abuse which will cause eternal edit wars, and the observation that the subject of economic policy in fascist regimes is already covered in a multitude of other articles, including fascism itself and corporatism. Please consider voting or commenting on the AfD. -- Mihnea Tudoreanu 23:02, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Naomi Klein[edit]

Can you provide a quotation where Klein explicitly advocates socialism? Also, I think your assumption that anarchists are automatically socialists assumes too much. Homey 14:35, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

KTVX[edit]

You have received this message because you have edited a Salt Lake City media article in the past. We have recently had an edit war regarding the wording and inclusion of a paragraph on the KTVX article. In hopes of resolving this I have put together an informal survey. List of state leaders[edit]

Roitr has made more edits that contain false information on the list of state leaders page. I would like to as you if you can seek a temporary editing ban (I have no idea how to do that). Thank you. – Zntrip 21:58, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have made the decision to ban Roitr for one week, given that the user has repeatedly inserted demonstrably false information into List of state leaders, and has received several warnings on the relevant talk page. The ban expires at 16:50, 17 December 2005. —Sesel 22:54, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You are write it false information into List of state rulers. You delete Greenland, Puerto Rico, Guiana, but you do not delete Western Sahara, Palestine - they too not the independent countries too. Greenland and Puerto Rico-actually these states have full internal and partially external administration in their territories. Nauru recognizes Queen of the Great Britain as Paramount Chief of State and it is necessary to specify it. I consider that on this page should be included all of state leaders without a difference independent they or not independent - only then it will be full clause. Roitr 11:15, 11 December 2005

Western Sahara and Palestine are recognized by many states as sovereign. Nauru is a republic not subject in any way to the British crown. —Sesel 15:47, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That fact that Western Sahara and Palestine are recognized by many states does not do their independent. They have not full self-controllability, in difference for example from Taiwan. Greenland and Puerto Rico-actually these states have full internal and partially external administration in their territories. Many states recognize them too. You are right Nauru is a republic, however as Fiji. Nauru and Fiji they subjects in British Commonwealth and recognizes Queen of the Great Britain as Paramount Chief of State. Roitr 19:50, 11 December 2005

I belive that Roitr is using the IPs 82.81.75.246 and 82.81.103.123 to continue adding false information to the list of state leaders page. Is there anything that you can do about that like blocking the IPs? – Zntrip 19:20, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

NOTE: 82.81.103.123 (aka Roitr) deleated Zntrip's last entry at 20:33, 11 December 2005 (UTC). It was readded by Zntrip at 21:33, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting Front Page[edit]

You probably know this well enough, but the Sankara quote you put on your user page is essentially a direct copy of Clausewitz' earlier phrase. Dunno if that affects how you want to attribute it. I've always sort of endorsed the inversion of the phrase: Politics is simply war carried out by other means. But that's just me.

Thanks for the good work on List of dictators, btw. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 07:02, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I had no doubt that the same sentiment had been expressed by someone earlier in history, but I didn't know that von Clausewitz specifically had said it. Thanks for pointing this out. —Sesel 22:45, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seretse Ian Khama[edit]

Hi Sesel, I see the contributor of the less than flattering descriptions of IKSK is persisting, from different IPs at the same company. Looks like a newbie, and topic - while negative - is widely discussed in Botswana, so I'd like to encourage him/her to engage at the Discussion page. You look knowledgeable ;-) do you know if there's a suitable template for this? Cheers JackyR 00:35, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid there's not much I can do right now, other than explicitly marking the article as "controversial". I looked through the entire template catalog and there aren't any that I see would be very helpful in this situation. It is difficult to communicate with an editor who uses "dynamic IPs" (I think that's what they're called) unless they are willing to discuss on the article talk page. I'll continue to keep an eye on Ian Khama's article, though the opinions expressed by the anon editor match my personal impression of Khama, Mogae, and the Botswana government.Sesel 03:47, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers for doing that. Yes, matches what I know too... JackyR 05:30, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you have made some contributions to List of U.S. foreign interventions since 1945, since your contributions, there has been over 5 pages of deletions by apologists. Your additions were probably deleted too. I listed most of the 5 pages of deletions here, in the entry on the talk page, "The memory hole". This page has been vandilized so much, I can't possibly do this alone. I was hoping that you, and others who contributed can help rebuild the page, adding back the information that has been deleted, but this time citing the information that you put back to avoid future apologist's attacks. Thanks in advance for your time.Travb 06:58, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peru[edit]

hi, please have a look at Talk:List of political parties in Peru --Soman 17:07, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Having looked at it more closely, I don't see sufficient support for Bongo stated in his annotation at List of dictators, nor in his Wikipedia article. Please discuss this on the relevant child article of the dictators talk page. "Kleptocrat" certainly seems evidenced, but the "outside rule-of-law" really seems to be missing evidence (single party rule might be undesirable, but it is not extra-legal per se). My RfA[edit]

Hi Sesel, We've worked together nicely on List of dictators, so I thought perhaps I could contact you to see if you'd like to opine at my current RfA: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters. I've gotten a lot of opposition because of having edited a lot of "hot button" political topics (including the dictators), but it's running sort of at the approval threshhold. I'm sure a comment from you could help other voters understand how thorny political topics attract POV-warriors (and promoting NPOV makes "enemies"). All the best. "Link spamming"[edit]

It's a site I use a lot, that has lots of good relevant info - when I'm bored I like to chuck a few links to it when it makes sense (usually when I've looked for something myself and not been able to find it - you'll see most my edits are on very specific categories or for specific thinkers). Before I made my user account i was told this was okay by another user - is it not? If you check, the links are all relevant and are not spam - they provide further detail to any of the articles I'm adding them to. —SocialistJack

I am not trying to discourage you from editing, but adding links to different pages of the same website may be seen as aggressively promoting said website. I personally don't have a problem with this, but others may. —Sesel 18:31, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for edit summary[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 12% for major edits and 51% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 07:30, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete my article[edit]

I am new to wikipedia and am just trying to make my first article. I just found out about the sandbox feature today so I will use it in the future. I am going to reference all of my sources. I am still learning to use wikipedia and would like to know any suggestions you might have to help me with my article so it is acceptable. Please do not delete my article.

Thank you very much in advance,

Anthony Braxford

I don't have any problem with the fact that you contribute to Wikipedia. The question I ask by proposing the American Centrist Party article for deletion is whether the group is significant enough to warrant an article. I am very in tune with the developments of third parties in the US, and I had never heard of the American Centrist Party until I saw your article. Outside discussion in reputable sources is generally required for an article to be notable. It is generally not acceptable to rely solely on first-person accounts, blogs, or the publications of the organization concerned.
I should add that it is not my decision to delete or not delete; the deletion process requires a majority vote or a consensus.
Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns. —Sesel 06:35, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The ACP Chairman Matt Unger spoke on this show as well on June 29, 2005. American Centrist Party S2D 6/29 6pm PT LIVE The American Centrist Party founder Matt Unger will be on this edition of S2D to talk about the party and what his hopes are. And of course, what's news to him.

Join us for this program at 6p on LVROCKS.

This show is also archived on http://www.spankwagon.net/public_html/staticpages/index.php?page=archive Matt is on from 18 minutes into the show onward.

Also another interview with our chairman

Also here are some blogs about our party which aren’t exactly flattering but our chairman responded with what we are really about. Please check the whole page: http://www.centristcoalition.com/cgi-bin/mt-comments.cgi?entry_id=2312

Also I am currently in the early, early process of running for city council in Greenville, NC 2007 and am a campaign manager for another woman who will run endorsed by the ACP as well. And Matt Unger was running for Florida state senate before he had to move to another state. I haven't seen his local papers publication on him and running for state senate but if you need to see it or have proof I will see what I can do in locating it.

As of 2005 we had 65 plus official members and there is also an “unofficial “ American Centrist Party site on myspace.com. I say unofficial because the person who started it is not an official member but believes in centrist ideals as do the other 150 or so friends of the site. www.myspace.com

I hope this counts as enough coverage for my site to stay up, I think that it does. Thanks again for your quick response to my previous post.

hello[edit]

My name is Andre Edwards and I noticed that you deleted the American Centrist Party article I wrote. I know that Anthony Braxford wrote one and you deleted it. He is new to Wikipedia as am I . First of all the article I wrote is different in scope and the article is thoroughly sourced from outside sources including but not limited to the ACP website. The article was formated according to Wikipedia standards. I have looked at other minor parties under Wikipedia and there are other parties that are small but growing and have and article posted here. Some of them are even one or maybe two paragraphs long. The ACP is a small but growing party and we have had some public exposure as Mr. Braxford previously posted. I hope that you will respond to me with a reason why the article I posted was deleted. Please give me another reason other than the previous AfD because this article was written with neutrality and good information and sourced properly. Please also tell me how the American Patriot Party's wikipedia information is able to posted since it is so short and since the party is currently in reorganization and the main website posted on the wiki site is defunct. What must I do to write an American Centrist Party article that is okay to be posted on Wikipedia?

Andre Edwards

The AfD decision was the consensus of the people who voted on it. The message is quite clear: something must be notable before there is an article on it. —Sesel 00:37, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In what way is the ACP not notable? What defines notable according to Wikipedia standards? If you look at the previous post by Anthony you can see that there are several instances of the ACP being mentioned and talked about in a notable fashion. One source which has the ACP listed as a viable political party is the DC Political Report which is also a source for several other political parties currently listed on Wikipedia. If you want to get down to it about notable, you have an article on the American Patriot Party that has its national party in chaos and main website which is linked to Wikipedia and has a broken link. There are articles about the Marijuana Party which very little public exposure. Yes we are small but we are growing and have been noticed by a notable sources. Thank you for the quick timing on your response to my post.

Thanks,

Andre Edwards

I have not been involved with the articles of the other parties you mention. If I could impose my beliefs, those sorts of articles would probably be deleted too. —Sesel 21:04, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
