See how his video has a play button and a screen capture shot and mine is just a simple listing of the filename? Mine is in the right format, and it will actually play if you download it, but it's missing the play button and the screen shot image. It almost looks like the play button is part of the art that's uploaded at the time the movie is uploaded. Here's the master of Obama's movie...

I'm very confused.

Many, many videos are uploaded to Wikipedia everyday. I wonder how I can find an expert on this topic?

Hello there Scubeesnax, I'm not sure, but I think it is caused by the format being .ogg rather than .ogv, which is the other (working) video's format. I'd let other's confirm this first though. Hmm, I thought ogg was just the updated standard of ogv format. Both are Theora. Do you know how I can find expert advice on this topic, ie. how to convert a file to the correct format for Wikipedia use? Eric. -- Scubeesnax (talk) 00:48, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RESOLVED! Thanks to your help, I was able to download the free ffmpeg2theora-0.25.exe software and convert my mpeg4 and flv files to ogv. (In the past, I had converted them incorrectly and you're right, ogg files don't work!) This link, provided by Intelligentsium, also was invaluable Commons:Help:Converting video. File source problem with File:Pathfinders to Peace.ogv[edit]

NOTE: I deleted Pathfinders to Peace.ogv and Pathfinders to Peace.ogg, and I posted correct source info for Pathfinders to Peace 2.ogv. Thanks for catching this :) ERIC

If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Henry Lozano. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. I have removed the extra spaces. AGAIN. Please stop adding them back in. Paragraphs in Wikipedia are spaced using a single line.
