Deer Valley High School[edit]

I just did my first wiki disambig with Deer Valley High School and I hope I did it right. If not, I just want to let someone know so it can be fixed up. ^_^; -WarthogDemon 05:15, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is fully cited from scholarly books and papers by reputed historians. If you want to indulge in original research trying to disprove accepted history, then WP is not the place for it. - Parthi talk/contribs 05:13, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Read the article and then read the books cited in the reference. WP cannot use primary sources. We can only report what has already been accepted and published. That is what this article does.- Parthi talk/contribs 05:25, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In this article you created yourself, you yourself say, " Though legendary and apocryphal, the early Chola kings of the Sangam period and the life of people contributed much to the cultural wealth of the Tamil country. The Sangam literature is full of legends about the mythical Chola kings". Unless you can prove that they were anything more than legendary and mythical, there is no reason to club them with kings whose historicity is proven. Rama and Krishna appear in literature and poetry in all languages all over India. And yet, nobody has gone as far as call them anything more than mythical. So I will be changing it. And one more thing, do NOT use popups in content disputes. You should know better considering the company you keep(No, I am not talking about Sundar... not even close). Thanks. Sarvagnya 05:46, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you cared to read the article Legendary Early Chola Kings, it contains suprious listings of cholas from around 10000 BCE. This is what is termed 'mythical', not the Early Chola kings. Again read some books before dabbling in WP. It will certainly expand the mind. I don't care about your cleaver insinuations. Your track record speaks for itself. Remember the 3RR rules when you indulge in such activity. I am not here to 'prove' anything. Unlike you and some of your friends, my focus is in writing good articles. - Parthi talk/contribs 06:29, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The template and block stay. Checkuser does not show likely, but confirmed. Which means that User:Dmcdevit is very sure. I would ask you to send a message to Dmc and/or post on ANI. - Aksi_great (talk) 19:31, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If as you say Gnanapiti has moved to another city, then IP evidence would show it. Again, ask Dmc about it. Only he can verify what you say. The template and block on 1 account stay till then. - Aksi_great (talk) 19:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since you are saying that the pair of you shared personal laptops, I think that counts as Meatpuppetry to say the least. Also, I can see that Gnanapiti started using popups within his first 100 edits, which is consistent with you guiding him and mentoring him. As such, I don't feel that you are able to edit the same pages without contravening the Meatpuppetry policy. You have already teamed up to get five reverts on Belgaum border dispute and Saare Jahan Se Achcha. So I don't think that you would be permitted to edit the same articles simultaneously. As for Gnanapiti, the only way is to check very recent statistics or unblock him to edit on non-battleground articles to register his IP in his new location. Also Note that Arya was termed as very likely and still blocked but sarvagnya's confirmed sockpuppetmaster and yet not blocked?. Mahawiki

emblem[edit]

Hi. I dont think I can scan them from a book. I asked someone about it. I shall repost the question to Blnguyen about this one. My books also gives the maps of the empires for those that dont already have it. If i can scan it that would be great. Also about Aftermath of Talikota, I am sure I can come up with source data for TN feudatories. Kerela normally goes with TN. They had small kings like Zamorin etc whose info is lost in an unimportant phase of Vijayanagar history and really needs digging.Dineshkannambadi

Battle of Talikota[edit]

I have added brief details about the aftermath. Nothing is said of Kerela though. After the shift of Vijayanagara to Penukonda, the whole history becomes one of small kingdoms constantly waging war against each other, against the Sultans of Bijapur, against the Dutch, the Portuguese, the British etc. a real Chow-chow affair. The only time South India seemed to getting into an empire like situation was under Tippu Sultan, when he controlled most of south India, south of Krishna. The history is so hotch-potch between 1565-1750 approximately is that its like eating Chow-Chow bhat, if you know what I meanDineshkannambadi 02:01, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I will look into it. Looks like lot of things need to be done there, but a good start from you. Thanks. - KNM Talk 18:41, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An Arbitration[edit]

I've noticed you have dealt with several users that are currently involved in this arbitration case. If you would like to say something on the main page or the evidence page, I'm sure your additions would be welcome. Thanks. BhaiSaab talk 17:14, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re; Shivanasamudra[edit]

Thanks for your note. I hope you do read the extended discussion (also some of it is on User:BostonMA's page -- and it is very confusing because we lost track of what page we were on (at least I did), and therefore posted some things twice!

It also involves User:Dineshkannambadi to some degree: [1] [2]

I am very confused about it all right now and would like to apologize to BostonMA. I know he is sincerely trying to do the right thing. If you could help that would be great! Mattisse(talk) 16:43, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It does help. Thanks! Mattisse(talk) 17:03, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I finally had time to read what you wrote to me earlier and see that it doen't pertain to me. So I moved what you wrote me over to BostonMA's page as all those names you mention are not anything I have to do with or understand. To tell you the truth, I don't know what you are talking about. He probably knows what you mean and can sort it out and do what you want. Thanks for helping out. Mattisse(talk) 02:17, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sarvagnya, Mattisse is not inclined to deal with this now. I am officially agnostic on the the name issue. The only editors who seem to have expressed definite opinions are yourself and User:Dineshkannambadi. Dineshkannambadi is correct that the majority of maps and other references use "Sivasamudram". That is how it is spelt on my map as well. However, I personally don't think mapmakers are authorative in such matters. They are also faced with having to choose from a number of possibilities, and they in turn may have chosen one name because someone else chose that name, and so on. So, I will go with whatever name you two decide. Sincerely, --BostonMA talk 03:04, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am done working on India articles[edit]

Hi, It's only a punishing experience for me. So I ask you to leave me out and please do not intrude on my talk page again. I have archived the mess and will forget about it. No more work on India for me. Your attitude decides it for me that Indians do not want non-Indians working on your pages, except to do the gut work. I get it now and will no longer intrude. Thanks for understanding! Sincerely, Mattisse(talk) 02:24, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the apology[edit]

Hi, your apology sounds very different from the way you came across on my Talk page, so I appreciate it very much. I have worked on articles for all sorts of countries and only on India articles does ethnicity seem to be a question. I have been assumed to be Indian, or asked if I am Indian countless times, even by the admin who was blocking me. Never in any other country has anyone cared enough to ask. And now it is boiling down to the issue that I can no longer conduct research because the name practices for Indian articles are moving in the direction of using names that are not found on world database sites. Preferring local names is wonderful for the locals, but it excludes the Wikipedia editors at large and seems inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Certainly it prevents me from continuing to work on India articles. I am sorry to leave, but it is becoming impossible to continue. And i do resent the high-handed attitudes of Indian editors. It is extremely unpleasant and I am no longer willing to expose myself to this behavior. There are many other interesting areas where abuse is not constant. i hope you understand my decision to move on. I am giving up many articles I care about, but it is not worth the misery involvement with India entails. Very few Indian editors, in my experience, are interested in gathering a database of information. Most seem to spend there time defending there own parochial territory. Sincerely, Mattisse(talk) 03:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re: Baka's comments[edit]

Hi Sarvagnya. I'm unable to take up personal disputes, while content disputes themselves are quite overwhelming. Please check with another admin if he has been stalking you. Since his comments were related to another article, I've not gone into its details.

Regarding Tolkappiyam, I think the section needs to be rewritten in the light of fresh references from Parthi and Arvind. I expect your cooperation in this. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 10:52, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kiruba shankar[edit]

Hey. Cool down man. You don't need to get so excited about an AfD (atleast that was the impression I got from reading your comments). "I havent even heard of this 'nobody's' name", "Writing a whole article about this 'nobody'" are not the best sentences to use. It is insulting to call anyone a "nobody" even if he/she is not notable. - Aksi_great (talk) 20:00, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you are trying to convey. I can't comment on why others may be voting to keep. But I see many editors whom I respect and trust on the list of people who have voted to keep. Anyways, I do not intend to vote on the AfD. I just left a note on your talk page to let you know my opinion about your remarks. You have made some good points. Just wait and watch what the others say to it. - Aksi_great (talk) 20:18, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
