Image copyright problem with Image:Rabbi_Maurice_Davis.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rabbi_Maurice_Davis.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:17, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Source?[edit]

  • Do you know specifically which newsletter, i.e. a date? I think this would be a fairuse so I am going to try to change the tag and allow it... Smee 10:33, 3 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
    • Fair use rationale provided, but a specific date and/or possible hyperlink if you found this on the internet would be helpful. In any event, thanks for the additions to the article! Smee 10:43, 3 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Capitalization conventions[edit]

I noticed that you added the heading "Notable Guest Stars" to Gilmore Girls. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization), I've changed this to "Notable guest stars", using sentence case — that is, only the first word and proper nouns are capitalized. Please consider this in your future edits, and thank you for your cooperation. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 01:31, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Ballet Nouveau Colorado requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 03:55, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Ballet Nouveau Colorado[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ballet Nouveau Colorado, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ros0709 (talk) 21:06, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've done a lot of good work there. I had to slash back some of the more promotional content, as it was beginning to look like a magazine article or advertising brochure, rather than a dispassionate description. (The call-outs with quotes were particularly inappropriate.) Still, on the whole, you've done an excellent rescue job there. Please continue to work on other articles where your expertise is needed. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:50, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the material you have restored, such as the vanity stuff about Ferguson, simply has to come out. It reads like a promotion of Ferguson and his company. Also, the external links are inappropriate, per our standards on such matters.--Orange Mike | Talk 15:26, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
YouTube and Myspace links, in particular, are strongly discouraged, unless there is no other website for the subject at all. Third parties are generally not linked to, either as external links or as "See also" links. I would urge you, though, to consider crafting an article for the accrediting agency, if you think it is notable (and if it is not, then its accreditation is probably of dubious value to this article). --Orange Mike | Talk 15:31, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is customary to provide an external link to the subject's main webpage at the end of an article (as well as in the infobox), so I restored that. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:37, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dance magazines[edit]

Currently Dance (magazine) and Pointe (magazine) are both redlinks. Think you could contribute at least stub articles on these, if they're notable? --Orange Mike | Talk 16:21, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for March 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Council of State Governments, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Washington and Georgia. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. A tag has been placed on File:CSG National Headquarters Logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Train2104 (t • c) 00:03, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
