A7s

Yes, I am being very cautious of A7s. See what you think of what I did with Soundcircuit, Superstreng and Soopermuse. Taking it slowly to start with... - Just zis  Guy, you know? [T]/[C] AfD? 11:03, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

My First Block (nearly) :-)

I blocked 82.40.120.5 (talk · contribs) for an hour for continuing to linkspam after multiple warnings from User:Wangi. This address is in a block allocated to blueyonder, probably dynamic but I have asked them to confirm. Assuming it is dynamic I would intend to block any repeat of the same behaviour by this IP or another in the same block without further warning, again for an hour at a time. Wangi is watching the pages, the vandalism is linkspamming of http://businessperthshiremagazine.com into articles in Category:Perth and Kinross, easy enough to spot. What else should I do? Should Ileave a note one one of the noticeboards? Thanks, Just zis  Guy, you know? [T]/[C] AfD? 15:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

216.174.135.154

What's the deal with 216.174.135.154 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)? Since you unblocked him, his edits have not exactly been vandalism, but they've been kind of bizarre--he added information about a hockey coach to a hockey team article (OK) and then added information about microchips to the same hockey team article (OK. . .). I reverted, left him a friendly message and he seems to have stopped, but you may want to keep an eye on him. Thanks. Chick Bowen 22:24, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Odd, indeed, but probably more befuddled than malicious. He seems to have a static IP though, so it won't be hard to keep up on him--I'll check in on him every once in a while. Thanks again. Chick Bowen 00:43, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

That was kind of you. I'm going to have to watch out, or Doc G's label of "public defender" is going to stick, eh?
brenneman(t)(c) 06:41, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I see you nominated this for FA. Why is there no mention of the Halloween documents in the article? What about how they had to settle a lawsuit with Go Corporation? And that was in the early years! I highly recommend the book "Hard Drive: The making of Bill Gates and the Microsoft empire" to get the skinny on this matter. I really don't think it's ready for FA, I'm considering submitting it to FARC but thought I'd talk to you about it first. - Ta bu shi da yu 07:07, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Questionable user

Gobacktotexas (talk · contribs) seems to do nothign other than add his blog to the External Links section of Mel Gibson. I am minded to warn him that if it happens again I block him. Is that fair? - Just zis  Guy, you know? [T]/[C] AfD? 12:35, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

CfD

Please do not blank active discussions - this has been proven in the past to be completely fruitless. You are also verging very close to a 3RR... remember that cfds do run for several days so you have a bit of time to discuss et al. if need be (which doesn't include blanking other opinions). You can always take it to WP:DRV afterwards if you think the outcome was incorrect. WhiteNight T | @ | C 22:13, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry but the entire CfD was totally invalid from the start. This CfD will not run for several days because instead of doing a CfD discussion, we are going to have a real discussion of the underlying issues, a thoughtful discussion without voting, in an attempt to educate people about the underlying problem here and how to solve it.
I moved the comments to a place where they can easily be access for those who care. And I'm strongly protesting against the idea that a bunch of uninformed votes to delete is the right way to do anything around here. --Jimbo Wales 22:25, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Block

I have blocked you for 24 hours for disruption for deleting Category:Living people after Jimbo expressly forbade doing so. It is the duty of administrators to uphold the rules of Wikipedia whether they agree with them or not; when Jimbo issues an order, it is to be obeyed, and to openly defy him is never acceptible behavior for any user, but certainly not for an admin. Please, in the future, respect that Jimbo is the final arbiter of any matter, and refrain from acting in defiance of his decisions. Essjay TalkContact 09:52, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Valhalla Legends

Is this article going to be undeleted? It seemed from the discussion that it was, but the article is still absent. Harry Metcalfe 12:44, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Heh, I just came here looking to see if you could take care of this. Please note that the article was originally titled "Valhalla legends" -- as I'd stated, I'd requested for it to be moved, but it was deleted first. (Review Log) Robert Paveza 01:55, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

RfA Thanks

Please accept my embarrassingly belated thank you for supporting my RfA, which much to my surprise passed 102/1/1, earning me minor notoriety. I am grateful for all the supportive comments, and have already started doing the things people wanted me to be able to do. And hopefully nothing else... Just zis  Guy, you know? Succesful RfA!

Thank you for your support during my RfA! The community has decided to make me an administrator, and there's work to be done. I look forward to seeing you around the project in the future, and if you see me do anything dumb, let me know right away! Regards, CHAIRBOY () 23:11, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

Just wanting to let you know that my RFA is up and running. You voted to Support me in my last RFA (which failed) and I was wondering if you'd like to support me again? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. --Mb1000 20:02, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

The Neanderthal theory of the autism spectrum

As far as I understand, that article was deleted. Could you help me find decision/votes that leaded to it deletion? I belive it is original reserch, but guy (Rdos) reinstalling link to that theory in Neandertal article. If I can prove that consensus was reached that it is original reaserch, it would be nice. Fair use images on user pages

Hi RN. I notice that User:RN/GWB includes at least one fair use image (the Time magazine cover), and such images can't be used on user pages. I haven't checked the other images on that page, so I don't know if there are any others which are fair use - please could you check through and remove the fair use images?
