The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The top image of Joan White is incorrectly labeled “Not published”. No one knows whether it was published, but it probably was, in Spotlight the actors’ directory. If it is not, Spotlight would certainly have other pictures of her. This will require some transatlantic inquiries.

All my pictures are publicity material. Attached to the picture of James Mason is a detailed and cogent presentation of why publicity photos are in the public domain. I note the article This Happy Breed presents a picture with the same rationale that I have used. So that is settled.

It has further come to my attention that the pictures Junior Miss, A Phoenix Too Frequent, Waltz of the Toreadors, You Never Know and This Happy Breed are all scans from newspaper pages (The Sketch, Tatler, Berkshire Eagle (twice) and The Times). The tag

This image is a scan of a newspaper page or article, and the copyright for it is most likely held by either the publisher of the newspaper or the individual contributors who worked on the articles or images depicted. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of newspaper pages
