OK, I was trying to resolve the licence issue on this Photo File:DOME T4240ZMS microserver.jpg (as it was scheduled for autodeletion). I had a high resolution picture (of my work) taken by a colleague, and was trying to acknowledge that he took the picture, which was taken so we can publish it. I own the item in the picture and thus can make the photo available to the public. I made a number of edits before I understood how to set the licencing correctly, and I guess in doing that tripped a few wires.... Sorry.

Note: If your colleague took the photo they own the copyright, not you. Only they can release it to us, not you. You attempting to do so is copyright infringement. You owning something does not give you the rights to it. I own the Game of Thrones books. I can't take a photo of the cover art and claim it is mine and I own the copyright to it. That isn't how the law works. Instead of constantly reverting and attempting to cover up the copyright issue you could have asked. --Majora (talk) 04:22, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Just a side note since I have to be going soon. If you wish to have the photo properly released so we can use it please see WP:CONSENT. The form there must be filled out by the photographer and sent into our volunteer response team. They will process the permissions and verify they meet the bar we need for copyright purposes. If you want to go down this road let me know and I will change the tags on the image. It would still be eligible for deletion but it is a "permissions" issue and can be undeleted if/when the permissions are received. Let me know what you want to do. The image isn't going anywhere for a little bit anyways so there is time. --Majora (talk) 04:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Yes, I agree. I will delete the picture, and upload a new one that I took myself. The picture in question was taken by my colleague specifically upon my request for publication, so I thought I can publish it. I learnt something about copyrights.
