Improvement

Hi. No wish to get into a dispute. I am somewhat nonplussed by your belief that an edit needn't be an improvement to be made. I just felt that your edit, which included changing 'round 3' to 'the third round' was essentially just changing words to others with the same meaning. That isn't an improvement and that's what edits should be. Also, your edit mentioned him winning a second title and said that 'as a result'he got POTN. The original edit said his performance earned him that accolade, which is accurate. Titles don't result in bonuses, petformances do. Happy to discuss why you think your edits improved the article here but let's not get into a row. NEDOCHAN (talk) 16:43, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

@NEDOCHAN: Fair point on the performance of the night thing, however regarding “round three” vs “third round”, what I changed it to is what is typical in MMA articles when discussing a fight result, “_____ won/loss via (method) in ___ round” which is evident through Cejudo’s article and other MMA fighter articles. Again, edits, specifically edits done where there was a reword, aren’t always about improvements. Sometimes rewords are done for consistency, even if it is just within the article.--Rockchalk717 20:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Additional comment, saying “round three” is not typical even outside of Wikipedia. Reading reports of MMA events usually say 3rd round. Same with all sports, third quarter, third inning, third period, third hole.--Rockchalk717 21:43, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

I didn't revert post discussion btw and I'm happy with how it's turned out.NEDOCHAN (talk) 14:25, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. dos Santos -Alex Morono def Zak Ottow

Hi Rockhclk717 - Greetings. Pls note the method is as per Sherdog.com based on [[WP:MMA}] guidelines "unless sources within the body text of the article state otherwise, always use the result that is available in a fighter's record at Sherdog Fight Finder. Do not use your interpretation of a fight result in the record, as the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. Any result that is not referenced or that is not the same as in Sherdog, must be returned to how it is described in Sherdog. Shedog indicated Alex Morono def Zak Ottow "TKO (Submission to Elbows)" - see [1]. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:35, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

@CASSIOPEIA: I have changed it back as was my intent after I reverted your edit, even before this post. I’m well aware we use Sherdog, I have reverted the Tim Means/Niko Price result on this page multiple times because IPs keep switching it to KO from TKO and have done the same with other fight results. Fun side note, I actually was in attendance at this UFC event because it took place in my hometown :)--Rockchalk717 04:53, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
Greetings. Not sure what you referred to as I dont see the your self revert of UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. dos Santos page and pls do self revert to "TKO (Submission to Elbows)" as per sherdog. As mentioned above, Wikipedia is about verifibility and not true. Just as if a subject has 3 children in real life but the source indicate only 2, we cant change the number from 2 to 3 for that is not the source indicated. I am happy for you that you had the chance to watch the event live as I have missed many times when UFC came to Australia as I was always out of the country/lived oversea. Cheers and have a wonderful day ahead. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:07, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
@CASSIOPEIA: See this edit. I’m well aware of all of this that’s why I changed it. Hopefully you are able to go to one soon. It definitely should be on every UFC fan’s bucket list. Good day.--Rockchalk717 05:14, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
Hi Rockchalk717, I saw the edit you mentioned about; however, it should be "TKO (Submission to Elbows)" as per sherdog and not "TKO (Verbal submission to elbows)" (you have an extra word "Verbal" :). Agreed, every UFC fan should go to at least one of the event, especially in LV at International fight week and attending the PPV event. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:21, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
@CASSIOPEIA: Oh you’re right, my mistake I have removed verbal. I am planning a move to Tucson, Arizona which is only about a 7 hour drive to Vegas and I do plan on seeing a title fight in Vegas at some point.--Rockchalk717 16:46, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
Hi Rockchalk717, Thank you for the correction. Appreciate it. Arizona ya - the desert state. I drove through the whole I-10 from Jacksonville to LA, and from El Paso to Phoenix we encountered hardly any cars in hours :). Watch the fights for me when you are in LV. Cheers.
