Third message re: Michael Sacco[edit]

Shipmate, please take a couple of deep breaths. You aren't going to accomplish anything this way. If you want to say unflattering stuff about Sacco, that's fine. You just have to cite a reliable source when you do it.

Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles, as you did at Michael Sacco. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Also, please be aware that the previous two warnings on this subject are clearly visible in the history of this talk page. HausTalk 17:17, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Sacco

Michael Sacco is president of the Seafarers International Union of North America, AFL-CIO - a federation of 12 autonomous unions representing 80,000 merchant mariners; industrial, service and government workers; and others in various professions. He first was appointed to the position by the SIUNA executive board in June 1988. The only seatime that Mr. Sacco has is as a member of Paul Halls Knee Capping Crew which was stationed on the Dredge Zanzibar in New York Harbor. His job along with other Goons was to stifle dissent among the rank and file members with Violence and intimidation.

Mike Sacco is a made member of the Mafia according to William Redden a former FBI agent who investigated Sacco when the Union

Leadership was involved in Corruption known as the Vacation Loan Scheme The Feds made the Union pay back over two million dollars that they

had diverted from their pension plan. According to Joe Theis, of the labor department the reason no one was convicted of a crime was because of political contributions made to the Clinton Administration.

Sacco also is president of his home union - the SIUNA-affiliated Seafarers International Union; Atlantic, Gulf, Lakes and Inland Waters District/National Maritime Union (AGLIWD/NMU). The district's membership is composed of mariners, boatmen and fishermen working aboard U.S.-flag deep sea ships, Great Lakes vessels and inland waters and harbor boats. It includes mariners from the former National Maritime Union, which merged into the SIU in 2001.

In November 1991, at its 19th Biennial Constitutional Convention, Sacco was elected a vice president of the AFL-CIO, the federation of 66 national and international unions representing more than 13 million workers in the United States.

Since 1988, Sacco has served as president of the AFL-CIO Maritime Trades Department, representing 29 unions with members engaged in shipping and maritime-related trades. He most recently was reelected to the post during the MTD's 2005 convention. The Maritime Trades Department is a Construct organization formed by the Late Paul Hall and its purpose is foster the aspirations and desires of the Seafarers International Union. The Rank and File Union member has no say in how it is operated.

From 1980 to 1988, Sacco was sent to Saint Louis to run the the SIU AGLIWD's Great Lakes and Inland Waters division as vice president by the Late Frank Drozak(who did not like Sacco and wanted him out of headquarters) He served as secretary-treasurer of the Greater St. Louis Area and Vicinity Port Council (an MTD chartered organization) and as an executive board member of the Missouri State AFL-CIO. He has no trouble gaining fluff memberships in organizations which the Union has control of in order to up his own petard.

Sacco also was vice president of the Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship from 1968 to 1979. The school, located on the grounds of the Paul Hall Center for Maritime Training and Education in Piney Point, Md., prepares men and women for a career aboard U.S.-flag commercial vessels and provides upgrading opportunities to active members.

Michael Sacco joined the SIU in 1958 and shipped aboard the Dredge Zanzibar as part of Paul Halls Knee Capping Crew, Until he and his late brother got jobs as with the Union as a result of a deal with the Mafia for favors rendered. In the 1960's he had various appointed posts in the SIU , including those of patrolman, port agent and headquarters representative. During this time the Union made regular payoffs to the mob in order to be left alone according to inside sources who grew up with Mike Sacco.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Sacco served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He was born February 14, 1937. He is married, and he and his wife, Sophie, have five children.

Hello Robertswanso, welcome to Wikipedia. Over the last couple days you have been re-adding the above content into the Michael Sacco article. You will, however, notice that it has been regularly replaced with the previous version of the article. There are three reasons for this.

  • The majority of the text you have above is taken directly from http://www.seafarers.org/about/bios.xml and is copyright. Wikipedia is unable to accept copyright material.
  • The claims you make, such as "Mike Sacco is a made member of the Mafia" are very strong claims and may be libelous. Such statements need to be backed up by very strong references, such as a link to a recognized news source or peer reviewed text.
  • If you look at the text which you are replacing, you will notice that it contains a number of things like a photo, categories, and a general structure which helps keep Wikipedia looking consistent and useful.

If you would like to contribute to the Michael Sacco article, please consider starting a conversation on the Talk:Michael Sacco page, and working toward gradually improving the article rather than simply replacing it with your version.

Hey, thanks for making your latest changes without removing the whole page! For the moment I moved your changes over to the talk page. You can find them at Talk:Michael Sacco#allegations. Feel free to add your views and thoughts on that page. As a start, could you provide a direction to look for your "public record" information? Which courts? Which publications? Cheers.--Bookandcoffee 18:00, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
