bishop

Please learn this: a man is not ordained a bishop. He is ordained a priest. He is consecrated a bishop. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 22:35, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

I just saw this on my way to write you about something else. Do not learn this. The Roman Pontifical, the liturgical book used by a bishop for various rites, calls the ceremony The Rite of Ordination of a Bishop. Note also that dioceses and the Holy See itself refers to the ordination of bishops. Certain traditionalist groups reject this terminology, which emanated from Vatican II. I will also add there is nothing wrong with referring to the consecration of a bishop. They are, in fact, consecrated and official documents do refer to the consecration of a bishop. In truth, both are correct in equal measure. Farragutful (talk) 16:11, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

Consensus

Sorry if my suggestion came across as ambiguous. I meant to say invite the projects (on their talk pages) to join in the discussion on the template's talk page. As is, you'll have three discussions - which may come to different conclusions - in which case you've got no further forward. Regards, Cabayi (talk) 21:29, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

Cathedrals

Seeing as you are trying to get all the US cathedrals photographed I thought I would give an update of what I've done and plan to do this year.

You had mentioned something previously about getting better photos of the Greensburg cathedral. I was able to do that earlier this month. (Well, I hope they're better. At least there's no tent in the front yard!) I was in New York this weekend and I got interior shots of both Brooklyn cathedrals, which I'm not entirely pleased with. Both have odd lighting, and my camera only does so much. I got some exteriors, but focused on the interiors.

In June I will be in the Twin Cities. I am planning to take a side trip to Duluth and Superior. I'll focus on Duluth as there are no photos of that cathedral, and go to Superior and see if I can get inside. I might try and get some more photos of the St. Cloud cathedral, as well as some interiors of the Minneapolis and St. Paul cathedrals. At the end of the month I'll be in Dallas and I'll try and get interior photos of that cathedral, as well as photos of the Fort Worth and Tyler cathedrals. I'll also try and get better photos of the Episcopal cathedral in Dallas, as well as an Anglican cathedral near Forth Worth and an Orthodox cathedral in Dallas.

I will be in Florida in late July, and I hope to get to both the Venice and St. Petersburg cathedrals. St. Jude's was extensively renovated a few years ago and it no longer looks like the photo we have. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year.

In September I will be in New Jersey, and I will try and get the new co-cathedral of the Trenton diocese in Freehold. I will also try and get better photos of the cathedral in Paterson. The last time I was there it was covered with scaffolding.

I hope this helps. Farragutful (talk) 16:37, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

escudo obispo Vasa

Hola Roberto!

--SajoR (talk) 22:44, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Mar

I am glad, if I can make something useful! In the Bizantyne tradition is "Kyr", but in Chaldean (including Indian Malancara Church) is "Mar". But Orthodox still using it like "personal name", for example Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II, etc. But I see, that in Catholic tradition it's more simple--Noel baran (talk) 03:16, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mario Alberto Avilés

Hello Roberto221,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mario Alberto Avilés for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
