Just as a follow-up to this, when uploading images, you need to put a license/copyright tag on them. If you know they were first published in the US before 1923, you can put {{PD-US}} on them. If you don't put any license/copyright tag on images, you will get the bot-generated warnings, and the images will get deleted a week later, unless someone (several people in this case, including me) notices and gets them undeleted. As Natalie said, please ask if you have any questions. You can ask questions here, or on our talk pages. My talk page is User talk:Carcharoth. Natalie's is User talk:Natalie Erin. Revert one of your edits[edit]

You had moved a page entitled Otho F. Strahl to Otto F. Strahl. I moved it back, as Otho was indeed his correct first name. regards! 8th Ohio Volunteers 20:41, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:Dudley M. Du Bose.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Dudley M. Du Bose.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:19, 10 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Walker Colt Article[edit]

I notice you have made contributions to this article. The article is currently locked down due to an allegation of copywrite violation made by user: Pigsonthewing. The individual links to an amazon.com (uk) exerpt from my book Percussion Pistols and Revolvers, etc claiming that text in the wikipedia article constitutes a violation of the copywrite. Apparently somebody had taken the allegation seriously enough to lock the article and slate it for deletion. There is no copywrite violation as the material in the article is well sourced and the copywrite is held by me. The individual has also gone through a couple of my contributions and delete them in the same time period. This individual has a history of edit wars and disruptive behavior. If you have comments, please place them on the walker discussion page--Mcumpston (talk) 05:45, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of World War I films, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lost Battalion (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for October 1[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Oveta Culp Hobby, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
