Sun Belt Conference[edit]

We were editing the conference page simultaniously today and I need two clarifications. There is nothing that says the conference can't have divisions (SWAC football) but will they in fact keep the division format. South Alabama (2012) and Georgia State (2013) were not eligible for football conference titles in their final transition years but Appalachian State and Georgia Southern (2014) are eligible for football conference titles in their final transition year; is the difference being that South Alabama and Georgia State were new start-ups and Appalachian State and Georgia Southern are existing programs. Msjraz64, the Sun Belt can have divisions. They currently have them, and will continue to do so. Appalachian State and Georgia Southern will be eligible for conference titles in 2014, according to sources 8-9 in the article, directly released from the conference. I am not sure of the reason for this. Robconstant (talk) 00:22, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I am a former long-time resident of Arkansas now living in Colorado and it's hard to get some of the details from here. I knew the conference could keep the divisions, the reference to the ten team SWAC, but would they; and it's curious as to why the different treatments of the two pairs of new football schools.
