Mastram (web series) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Mastram (web series), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A lengthy welcome[edit]

Hi Ritabharidevi. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 15:44, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Eka[edit]

Welcome and please note that disambiguation pages like Eka are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory
  • Do not add articles to acronym or initials disambiguation pages unless the person or entity is widely known by that name (in which case it should be stated in the linked article).

Thank you. Leschnei (talk) 13:06, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Demchok, Ladakh does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Glad to have you :) I just wanted to let you know that I removed part of your edit on Meena Harris, because it wasn't verified by the source you provided.

Specifically, the info that said Harris met her husband at Facebook in 2007 wasn't in the inline citation that you added. When you add a citation at the end of a sentence, it needs to support all of the facts in that sentence - not just some. Otherwise, the sentence loses its text-source integrity.

The children's names and years of birth also were not sourced, so I removed those. Names and birthdays of living people (that aren't written about widely) usually shouldn't be added to an article, since it can become a privacy issue for those people (please read WP:BLPPRIVACY).

In the future, please make sure that the sources you add at the end of a sentence verify all of the facts in that sentence. I hope these explanations were helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Best, - Whisperjanes (talk) 16:48, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ARBIPA sanctions alert[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Repeating the same issues again and again is disruptive. Please don't do it. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 21:04, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is another prod to write edit summaries for your edits. (see alert above). Less than 5% of your edits have edit summaries according to the system. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:10, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please avoid adding citations to content that is already well-cited. If the existing citations are not adequate, that should be explained in the edit summary or on the talk page. Once your edit carried no edit summary!-- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:36, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Mastram (web series)[edit]

Hello, Ritabharidevi. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Mastram".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. Notice

The article Khushboo Atre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable actress with a few minor roles. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NACTOR.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Edit summary[edit]

Firstly at the top, it was stated that he is a medical physician so no need to repeat that later. Secondly "He has published booklet versions of lectures on Islam and comparative religion" was added in the publications section. Thirdly, no valid reference found that buttress he is promoting Wahabism or Salafi Ideology. Let it clear, suppose you are a public speaker I am alleging that you are promoting terrorism but I have no evidence that exactly where you promoted or by which lecture or part of lecture you promoted terrorism, is it make any sense? Fourthly, his preaching is not banned his TV channel is banned only but it can be accessed through the internet. Emdad Tafsir (talk) 17:07, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, re: this edit, when changes you make are reverted, your recourse is to open a discussion on the article's talk page to seek consensus for the change you wish to make, not to re-revert it. This constitutes edit-warring, which is a disruptive behaviour at a community-based editing project. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:13, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding citations[edit]

Hi Ritabharidevi, first of all, it is a poor idea to add citations to content that is already well-cited. It is even worse, if you stick your citations in the middle of paragraphs so that it is not even clear any more which content is sourced to what. If you do this again please assume that it will get reverted. Please read and understand WP:INTEGRITY. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:07, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
