regarding title change, and citations[edit]

In response to your email regarding title changes to Mesenteric Organ, that is discussed at WP:MOVE. Please note that under WP:TITLEFORMAT guidelines, titles should be lowercase except for proper nouns. You might also be interested in the Manual of Style for Medicine-related articles, and an introduction to referencing, since the citation style currently in Mesenteric Organ (e.g. [1,3]), while sufficient for print-based articles, is not suited to the dynamic editing style of Wikipedia, since subsequent additions may change the reference number, and it would be quite easy to lose the footnote-to-source correlation, which would reduce verifiability. A referencing style in the form of "<ref name=Smith03>Smith, Joe (2003). Article. Journal, etc.</ref>" is the best way to automatically generate line footnotes and a numbered list of references. Thank you. Would it be possible for me to mesh my article (which as you can appreciate is very extensive and up to date) with the 'mesentery' article, which is poorly written, poorly cited and out-dated? I dont seem to have a MOVE option in my account. I really appreciate your help. Rishabh Sehgal, MD, MRCSI (talk) 19:14, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid human anatomy is out of my league, so I cannot give good guidance on what should be merged. You might want to discuss how best to merge content on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page: there is already a discussion of your article here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Anatomy#AfC_article_of_relevance, and the WP Anatomy editors will have better suggestions and insight than I. Thanks for your edits to Mesentery, RishSeghal. A quick google search reveals you have a close connection with an author of a large number of references you have inserted in mesentery. Whilst your edits are most appreciated and benefiting thousands of readers, please note that you are likely to have a conflict of interest. See here for more WP:COI

Here on Wikipedia we give preference to secondary, rather than primary sources. See here for more WP:MEDRS. We tend to lag behind the "cutting edge" until theories become accepted conventionally fact. See here for more WP:UNDUE.
