A tag has been placed on C. K. Rhodes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Copyediting the article splurge you've created.[edit]

the article at C.K. Rhodes was a complete mess. I mean completely complete. It looks nothing like a Wikipedia article should look like (try looking at some featured articles)

You are very lucky that it's not being deleted, because its lack of quality made someone nominate it for deletion.

  • WP:LEAD should summarise the article, not just say that Joe Bloggs was the son of Tony and Mary Bloggs.
  • Don't include direct quotations from primary sources. Just don't do it. And don't reinsert nonsensical primary sources that I've removed for your own good.
  • He was awarded the CIE in the 1936 New Year Honours. He was not invested with the order from the King on this date (as you wrote), but at a later date, although from the announcement he was entitled to wear the medal and use the CIE post-nominal letters. You need to understand the British honour system if you're going to write about it.
  • There is some information that isn't in the citations we have. Is the golf stuff really relevant? Where are the citations?
  • He served with the North Staffs in the First World War (not "World War One" or even worse "WW1" - there was a perfectly good way of distinguishing wars by using ordinal prefixes, and the Americans have to invent a different way) (anyway) which Battalion? (this is a number like 1/2). Was that on the Western Front? (probably) When was he promoted from 2nd Lieutenant to Lieutenant? (this should be in the Gazette).
