Information removed

How do we chat about taking information off of my page? I removed the material in question but you restored it. Can we discuss why I took it down?

I backed it out before noticing on your talk page that it was about you. I placed a tag on your talk page to notify Wikipedia Admins to look into this. I have also removed the information. RegistryKey (talk) 23:01, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Dorje Shugden entry

Why has the edit from yesterday been removed and restored to the previous version? As I stated in the edit explanation the "minor protector" information is disputed by Geshe Sopa in his autobiography - a reference for this source was provided.

Also there are several references taken from Bultrini, Raimondo (2013). The Dalai Lama and the King Demon: Tracking a Triple Murder Mystery Through the Mists of Time. New York: Tibet House / Hay House Incorporated. ISBN 978-0-9670115-23. This is acknowledged clearly by the author as a work of semi-fiction, so why is a fiction source being used as a factual source?

Is there any point in my editing this entry to try and improve its accuracy or will my edits simply be removed for the current inaccurate version?

Please explain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tsangpa (talkcontribs) 20:42, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi Tsangpa and thanks for taking the time to contact me. If you look at the talk page for Dorje_Shugden you will see that there is some dispute with regards to the information in this article, including possibly your revisions. Please feel free to post in this talk page to discuss any issues with your contributions. RegistryKey(RegEdit) 20:59, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi Registry Key - my revisions weren't objected to by anyone in the talk area - you changed them - why? It was a referenced and explained correction, no-one else objected to it so why did you revert it? There's no point in my contributing anything to this discussion if you're simply going to revert it without any explanation or refutation, it seems unusual for wikipedia.

Please explain what your objection to my revision is? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tsangpa (talkcontribs) 09:59, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi Tsangpa, as the discussion on the talk page says, there seem to be some issues with using self-published sources in this article, and also POV issues. Again, please discuss those issues there, not here. Also as Cullen328 advised when he undid your revision, "Provide a citation to a reliable sources and seek consensus". He was the last one to undo your revisions after you put them back from my reversion. To avoid an edit war and potential violation of the 3-revision-rule, again I would highly recommend continuing the discussion on the article's talk page, as that is what it is designed for. Hi! Thanks for your thanks. I am currently editing from my not smart not java equipped phone and I have had enough of this dude. However, I cannot access either the open report on him at AN-EW or WP:ANI due to the limitations of this stupid phone. Would you consider hitting him with a twinkle (or huggle or stiki) warning for edit warring, altho I really dont think he's looking at his talk, and then making a request at ANI for an admin to go over to AN-EW and deal with him? If you reply, be sure to ping me cause thats the only way i will be able to get to the message. Not having my puter sucks! Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 02:39, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I would be happy to help, but I do not log on often, So zip me a message on when you want to do it and we can work something out!

Thanks,

I am not logged out

Hi. I noticed the message you left on my user talk page. I do not actually have an account so I am not logged out. I just edit a few times a year without an account and reverted vandalism edits. 206.188.87.3 (talk) 04:13, 19 October 2014 (UTC)

Fair enough, just thought I'd offer the suggested. Thanks for your contributions as well! RegistryKey(RegEdit) 04:14, 19 October 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the Royal Adelaide Show image

I am blocked from Wikipedia Commons and one of the conditions on me staying unblocked on here is that I use this upload process for now. Ashton 29 (talk) 01:03, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

Re: image request at FFU

Regarding the image I requested to be uploaded at FFU (2014 Sydney hostage crisis), I cannot upload it myself to Wiki Commons as I am blocked. One of my conditions for my unblock on Wikipedia was that I use the Files for Upload method. Could it please still be uploaded? Ashton 29 (talk) 00:54, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

RfA

Hi. I notice you've nominated yourself for adminship. I'm disappointed you didn't read up about the position and Wikipedia's collective expectations before doing this. While you've gotten off to a good start editing, you're not qualified to serve as an admin. I think you ought to withdraw your nomination and return to editing. There are many WikiProjects that could use your help and there are backlogs you could work on, all without being an admin. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:02, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

I've unlisted your adminship request. You can put it back on the page if you really, really want to, but I strongly advise against it. Ten or eleven years ago, you'd probably have passed, but WP:RFA these days has evolved rather ridiculous standards, and at this point you're really just opening yourself to a meaningless pileon. —Cryptic 17:09, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
Good work so far though, what you've been doing has been very helpful to the project. It's just that you need more experience in all areas, especially Wikipedia project space and article development. As was mentioned on your RfA, you can be of incredible assistance to many areas of Wikipedia without the need for the administrative tools. You must consider whether you wish to take on the extra responsibilities and commitments of a sysop in the future. Until that time, have fun editing and carrying on your positive contributions! Regards, Orphan Wiki 17:14, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks guys. I figured it wouldn't make it that far, to be honest I moreso was taking a chance in conjunction with trying to get a feel of where I stack up after reading the info mentioned. RegistryKey(RegEdit) 17:17, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
BTW, left you a cup of tea here. ;) Orphan Wiki 17:24, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Personally, I would've supported you if I had noticed your RFA in time in light of your excellent CSD work and whatnot and you clearly do understand what adminship is. Basically the only reason for people opposing you was your edit count. With 6000 edits and maybe creating a couple of articles, you should have no trouble passing. --Jakob (talk) 14:49, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Always read the instructions

Hi. Looks as if I hit the nail on the head about you not reading instructions. Instead of trying to get involved in maintenance tasks that you are really not ready for, why not just create some articles or add content to others? If you have an eye for detail you might wish to help with the clean up backlog at the WP:GOCE, or just do some counter vandal work (read all about it at WP:CVU). By doing these things you will quickly accumulate the knowledge you need for other tasks without even thinking about it. Above all, remember we are all here to help. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:11, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

If you want to be an admin, at least look at a user's talk page before you leave templated messages

Generally speaking, you don't need to create a new talk page section and leave a templated message (like this) precisely identical to one left an hour earlier ([1]) by another editor. You particularly don't need to do it on the talk page of an admin who already explained what was going on, directly above your new redundant template.

Using automated tools is a fast way to build edit count, but it won't help you in a future bid for adminship if you can't demonstrate that you were paying attention to what you were doing when you accumulated all those edits. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 18:25, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Özge Bayrak

Hi! I'm not sure whether this is a bot. Anyway, your revert of my latest edit on Özge Bayrak is incorrect because I had saved the article unintensionly after copying the content from another article (Neslihan Yiğiy). I cleaned it up for further expansion. Pls, undo your revert. Thanks. --CeeGee 16:17, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

All fixed! Didn't see the Copyvio template until after I had submitted. The large blanking to correction the copyvio is what threw me off heh. Thanks for letting me know! RegistryKey(RegEdit) 16:20, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Edit-warring

You've reached 3RR yourself at caisson over a quite minor issue. Andy has reverted twice. Please use the talkpage first to work out the correct article title, and please exercise care in reverting. Acroterion (talk) 13:13, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

It would be kind to leave a note on User:Leigh richardson's talkpage noting that the article they started has been reinstated and expanded, and thanking them for their contribution. Acroterion (talk) 17:38, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
All done! Andy and I discussed it on the talk page and realized where the misunderstanding was. All good now! RegistryKey(RegEdit) 18:36, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
No, you and I haven't discussed a thing. You have reported me (once? twice?) at ANEW and been rebuffed for it. I have asked why you want to see this article deleted but you didn't respond. Now I discover that the article you had deleted the first few times wasn't just a redirect (as I'd thought) it was a first article by a new editor, Leigh richardson's first work. Never mind, I'm sure you've driven them off now. Another of those tiresome content creators got rid of, all the better to leave time for Serious Admin Bizniz. As to User:RegistryKey/CSD log, then you ought to be ashamed. Do you seriously equate this to something constructive? You obviously prioritise yourself far above the petty little editors you've worked so hard to drive off.
Congratulations on your RfA. I'm sure it won't be long. Andy Dingley (talk) 20:18, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
I suspect you've confused me with AndyTheGrump who pointed out your mistake on Talk:Caisson.
Still, if one word in three matches, they're obviously the same thing! Andy Dingley (talk) 20:22, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
