Welcome!

Hello, Reedy/Archive 2005, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Vsmith 17:13, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

Looks like you have the 4 tilde thing figured out :-). I'm glad that you didn't take offense at my editing of your edits (now that was quite a phrase). You called my attention to some other things needing improvement and that's what it's all about. Enjoy! Vsmith 17:52, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

No that is perfectly fine. I just added the information as when i was researching this stuff for an assignment i noticed it wasnt on here, and other people may require it. Thankyou for your help. Reedy Boy 17:55, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

Wiki clock

Hi RBoy. I am not sure if I got your question right. Anyway, if you need to know about your local time on your WP page than you have to add this tag {NOW} (use 2 {{}} instead of one) and the result is this: The current date and time is 26 May 2024 T 12:22 UTC.. Svest  Wiki me up™

Cheers for that!

Article creation

Hi, Reedy Boy, welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you created an article with the text "To be created." While I appreciate your enthusiasm, please don't do that again, as it will most surely be deleted. If you would like to have an article on the topic but aren't able to write it yourself, list it at Wikipedia:Requested Articles; if you can write it yourself, then do so, but don't post it until it has content. Thanks, and if you have any questions, let me know.

By the way, while I'm here:

Welcome! (We can't say that loud/big enough!)

Here are a few links you might find helpful:

You can sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date.

If you have any questions or problems, no matter what they are, leave me a message on my talk page.

We're so glad you're here! -- Essjay · Talk 17:24, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia was playing up, so i just created the page, and then was going back to add the redirect later

So, if you check that deleted page, it has been recreated, and the relevant redirect added

Archiving 1..2..3..

Hi - been a bit busy today. Anyway, I had to remember what to do - so I just archived mine again :-).
Create a redlink at the top of your user talk page, named User talk:Reedy Boy/Archive1 or some such. Then cut the stuff you want to put in it, right click on that red link to start the subpage in a new browser window, and paste what you cut from here. Save it and this gutted page and you are done. That's what I just did with mine, I hope that makes sense. When you open the archive it will have a backlink at the top back to your (this) talk page. Vsmith 01:51, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

OK, that was for archiving your talk page. The same procedure will work for an article talk/discussion page as well. Just hit my head that you may have been thinking of other than your talk page as it is rather short :-) Cheers, Vsmith 01:57, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks very much!
