Conflict of Interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Reckon Her. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Belfield FM, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. An editor here has said you're a volunteer at the station. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 14:40, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Getting help and citing sources[edit]

Hi, in reference to this comment [1] ANI is not intended for getting help with editing articles. You should try the WP:Help Desk or WP:Teahouse instead.

WP:Citing sources provides general guidelines on citing sources and specific recommendations for various kinds of sources. You should seriously consider using templates like {{cite news}}. You may also want to consider reading Help:Referencing for beginners which provides more detailed info especially suggestions on the use of tools which can help.

Probably the two key take away points from these guides for you may be this. One is that the key thing to remember when citing a source is you need to provide enough info so that someone else can reasonably find the source and the reference based solely on the info you've provided. This means you should give info like the title, the author/s, what publication it's in or who published it (if it's standalone), page numbers of some other info if it's long enough to need such info, and whatever other info that's needed depending the specific source.

The second take away is that there's actually not so much difference between citing offline and online sources. Simply providing a URL is not actually good practice when citing sources. While providing a URL is ideal if the source is legitimately online, it's not sufficient. If the URL dies, it can be difficult for someone to find the work elsewhere without the additional info. Likewise if what's on the URL changes, it's unlikely anyone will know if you only provide a URL. Many of the tools can partially add the necessary info for online sources if you use them, but the info should be added somehow.
