Note that styles of editing being already established should not be changed unless there is a reason. See WP:Retain. Avoiding cut-and-paste article moves[edit]

Hi. I see that you created a new page for Frederica de Laguna, then mined the information from the existing page and redirected the title to your new page. I believe you started the new page for a very good reason -- because the new version of her name appeared as a redlink on a "missing articles" list. Unfortunately, the result of these actions was something that is considered a "cut and paste page move", which should be avoided for a variety of reasons -- in particular because it loses the page history that Wikipedia needs for copyright reasons (see Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves for more information than you want to know about this topic).

I fixed the situation by merging the histories of the two pages, and I'm telling you about this for your future information. Also note that I chose the previous article name of Frederica de Laguna. This is consistent with Wikipedia's guidance on article titles, which says we use the names by which people were most commonly known, not their full legal names.

If in the future you find that you accidentally created a new page that duplicates an existing page under a different name, please don't try to patch things up on your own.
