Image copyright problem with Image:Cochinel.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cochinel.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 08:45, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

TfD nomination of Template:User Perumpadappu Swaroopam[edit]

Template:User Perumpadappu Swaroopam has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu_Joseph |TALK 13:08, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again! The template was put up for deletion, because wikipedia only allows templates that cater to some specific need to categorise people or those that are requested by many people on it. However, Template:User Perumpadappu Swaroopam is used only by you, and is not of relevance to wikipedia, as only a few people, belonging to your family can use it. Instead of creating it as a template on wikipedia, you can write the code directly onto your userpage. That is allowed. I hope you understand. If you have any strong reasons for keeping the template, please feel free to express them at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page, and it will certainly be considered. Thanks! (And oh...by the way, I'm from Kochi too.) thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu_Joseph |TALK 09:23, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a message to all Category:Kerala Wikipedians

I want your opinion on this particular person Pradip Somasundaran. He claims to be a famous singer in Kerala. Now being a Malayalee, I have not heard of this person before, so I wonder whether or not you have heard of him before and set this issue straight. If so, then please let your opinion be counted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pradip Somasundaran. Please note that by voicing your opinion as a Malayalee/Keralite will add more weight to your words.

Many Thanks --Ageo020 21:42, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ramavarma. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Cochinel.gif) was found at the following location: User:Ramavarma. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 22:29, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cochinel.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cochinel.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

date formats in Kerala[edit]

Hi Ramavarma,

I understand that that in India, the date convention with numerals only is to write day first, so for today 16-11-2008. However, when writing in Malayalam, do people put the year first, 2008-11-16? (I know you do when writing out the words, but am wondering specifically about the order when you write only numerals—what kids learn in school, what newspapers use, how people date personal or business letters, etc.) Also, is the US month-first convention (11-16-2008) ever used in India?

Thanks. I'm trying to update the map at Calendar date. kwami (talk) 22:44, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
