August 2017[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America has been reverted.
Your edit here to C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exnwTwfFRM8) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Article moves[edit]

Hi, I have reverted several of your recent TV series article moves, which I believe you disambiguated excessively and were fine at their existing titles. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television) before moving any more articles to further disambiguated titles. There are very few cases in which, for example, both a year and country are required, because one or the other will adequately differentiate two shows with the same name. Further, any differentiation in wording is usually enough disambiguation between articles, as in The Cops (TV series) and Cops (TV series). If you believe the title of a longstanding article is potentially confusing, you should start a move discussion rather than boldly move it, which could be controversial. You should also check talk page activity, because previous moves may have been performed or discussed, as was the case with Dynasty (1981 TV series). Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 18:10, 18 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright-infringing links at Batas Militar (film)[edit]

Hello, Ralph. For the third time in two weeks, I've reverted your addition of links to a YouTube channel that hosts video clips of the above-named film. You haven't demonstrated that this YouTube channel holds the copyright to the film, and so your links run afoul of our WP:COPYVIOEL. Please do not add those links back. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. NewYorkActuary (talk) 16:51, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And now I've had to remove that link for the fourth time. I am beginning to get the impression that you are willfully violating Wikipedia's prohibition against linking to copyright-violating material. Ralph, you really do need to stop doing this. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. NewYorkActuary (talk) 08:05, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ralphjerald. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for December 7[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Filipino cartoon and animation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Davao (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 20:30, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Batas Militar (film), please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube or Sci-Hub, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. NewYorkActuary (talk) 14:42, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Foundation for Worldwide People Power requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://opinion.inquirer.net/34001/the-eggie-apostol-foundation. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. The article Anthem of the United Federation of Planets has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable music. Page creator is advised to add a sentence ior two into the page on United Federation of Planets.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nick Moyes (talk) 08:06, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see in Anthem of the United Federation of Planets you included material from a webpage that is available under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:10, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Anthem of the United Federation of Planets is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthem of the United Federation of Planets until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. The Mighty Glen (talk) 09:14, 13 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ralphjerald, in late May you started this nomination for DYK (Did you know), but you never completed the instructions so the nomination was not made available for reviewing. At the moment, it is in limbo.

More important, the article has only 524 prose characters and would require a minimum of 1500; it is far too short to qualify for DYK. Also, it needs more inline source citations. In particular, the sentence It is the most expansive documentary film produced in the Philippines. makes an extraordinary claim—I'm assuming you mean "most expensive" rather than "most expansive"—and needs to be backed up with a verifiable source, as do all facts in your proposed hook.

If you wish to pursue this nomination, the article will need to be expanded by nearly 1000 prose characters (lists and tables and long quotes do not count for this purpose). If you can do this in the next seven days or so, then the nomination can continue; otherwise, it cannot proceed. I hope to hear from you soon; thank you for your interest in DYK. Re: Please edit HBO, 1994–1996 United States broadcast TV realignment and The Movie Channel with information from Broadcasting Magazine at americanradiohistory.com[edit]

Refs using content from American Radio History for HBO is doable. It’s possible that I exhausted any additional refs from that site relating to the 1994-96 realignment. As for The Movie Channel, that’s trickier; American Radio History’s search engine sets limits on search terms containing too many “common” words, which “The Movie Channel” would qualify as under their search formatting. I’ve attempted to retrieve articles from “Broadcasting & Cable” via that site in the recent past for use in the TMC article, only to run into the limitations of the search engine. A tag has been placed on Category:Television series by Brightlight Productions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Your draft article, Draft:Wanted: Perfect Mother[edit]

Hello, Ralphjerald. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Wanted: Perfect Mother".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 21:24, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Flood warning. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:12, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Batas Militar (2006 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable film, couldn't find any professional critic reviews in a WP:BEFORE or anything else, except videos/database entries. Fails WP:NFILM
