Topic 1[edit]

Why the heck do you keep on deleting the part of the trivia section in Rocky (series) that mentions Rcoky having fought African Americans? I put that one there in the first place, and I have to keep putting it back after you take away my previous work! In the most recent time you took it off, it said you were removing false info. How is that false?!! JYMoore 01:59, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New question: Why did you delete the thing about the characters/actors appearing in nearly all of the Rockys, and leave only the info about those who were in all of them? Your reason in that edit was "removing POV".

Blocked: You have been found at Wikipedia talk:Requests for adminship/Bobak to be running multiple abusive sockpuppets. This is not the oldest account but it is the one with the most edits, so I'm declaring it the master account. All the other accounts are indefinitely blocked. If you wish to continue editing with this account you should explain your conduct and be prepared to serve a block of at least one week. Thatcher131 01:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

Decline reason: You have been blocked directly as stated in your block log. Since you have not provided a reason for being unblocked, your request has been declined. You may provide a reason for being unblocked by adding {{unblock | your reason here}} to the bottom of your talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I have not engaged in any sockpuppetry and you will see that my IP address is not shared by anyone else. It is being blocked as part of a series of IPs addresses that belong to one of the largest IP companies in the world. So I should not be lumped into the same category as certain sock puppets. I have a long history of constructive edits on Wikipedia and have never engaged in anything inappropriate. Please remove this incorrect block ASAP. RPrinter 01:30, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Decline reason:

The editing patterns of the accounts are suspicious for sockpuppetry or meatpuppetry. Using the accounts to vote-stack at an RfA is an abuse. The checkuser IP data confirm the impression that these accounts are related. Please see the policy on meatpuppetry as well - multiple accounts used in concert by real-life associates also violate Wikipedia's policy. You have made constructive contributions to Wikipedia; if you'd like to be unblocked at some point, think about the above and please provide an explanation here or email it to the unblock mailing list at unblock-en-l@mail.wikimedia.org. — MastCell Talk 03:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Explanation[edit]

After looking at the accounts it appears they were created around the same time which does constitute suspicion of sockpuppetry and after an IP address check done by an administrator it appears that you do own these accounts. The administrators felt since the comments were so similar there was sockpuppetry going on and confirmed this. I now support their actions and believe this block should continue to be enforced. Xtreme racer 01:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You should not jump to such a conclusion. My IP address is totally different and once they see that my IP (which is listed above) does not correspond to any of the sockpuppets, then this block should be removed immediately. This is completely absurd since my IP is not shared by anyone and should not be blocked at all. RPrinter 02:05, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You can e-mail Dmcdevit who ran the check, or any member of the arbitration committee, to ask for a review of your situation. Only the arbitration committee, and the two or three checkusers who are not members of ArbCom, are authorized to view the checkuser evidence against you. I will say, however, that the checkusers have access to more detailed information about you than just your IP address. The public evidence of your edit warring over Mark Sanchez is pretty convincing even without technical confirmation. Thatcher131 12:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:BillChamplin.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:BillChamplin.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 07:09, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:HootersBand.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HootersBand.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
