Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the London Transport WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of London's transport system.

A few features that you might find helpful:

  • You may want to join or create a task force which attempts to drive the improvement of articles within a smaller scope.
  • The project also provides templates to help you make the perfect article.

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around!

I think possibly, when trying to illustrate a historical point. If the day and the month are already there, those two may be linked together but it seems the practices of some bots to delink these. See: WP:DATES. Simply south 18:37, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I was wondered a similar thing earlier but, looking at the similar BBC ones, it doesn't look like they do. I hope I'm sorting these Channel 4 ones out correctly - it's sometimes difficult to distinguish what is classed as 'comedy' and what is a 'sitcom' - I suppose an on-going story is the main distinction. Harry Potter Assessment[edit]

Hey, I see you're about to start doing this. I actually had a go at it this morning and got everything done except creating the actual WP:HP/Assessment page. All you'll have to do is create that and then we're good to go at rating articles (which you can still rate in the mean time, even without that page). --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 20:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, go ahead and make a big banner! I've only rated about 15 pages, though the bot hasn't updated the chart yet. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 20:23, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not entirely sure. I have to leave right now, but why don't you try reverting all his edits with an edit summary of "testing Mathbot" and then see if it works. If not, revert your edit and see what you can do. It may be that the bot isn't working now. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 21:24, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the edit since I still got the message: "Bot is down due to weird behavior. May come back later today." I think this is truly a bot error, and since it doesn't even refer to the template (just categories), it's probably not due to what Sandpiper changed. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 23:32, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like the bot is back up. I'm running it right now and things should be updated fairly soon. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 03:33, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm… perhaps we can put something in the template that will change if the namespace is Image:? Ask the WP:VP/T about that if you don't know how. And the class and importance would just be overridden and it would be "image-class." Or ask at WP:PJ. I would definitely put tags on all the actors specifically related to HP, though the adult actors who haven't been "found" due to HP would be questionable. Yeah, direct all questions to WP:PJ. Thank you for your help. I got fed up with rating after a little while, especially on some of the smaller articles which needed so much work and should really be merged anyway… --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 06:22, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki project England[edit]

Hi, just a line to say I've committed myself to the England project you have set up. I'd be very much happy to help.

I must say that the first article which needs attention is England itself; indeed the opening line states England is a nation - this of course is incorrect as the English people/inhabitants are the nation, whereas England is a country/constituent country/division/state etc.

Any thoughts? Any thoughts on how to use the project effectively? Hope so, Jhamez84 14:05, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've since found a reference used for the United Kingdom article which stipulates England is a Country, within a Country at 10 Downing Street Official Website. Hope that helps. Thanks, Jhamez84 14:15, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
We're going ahead and listing the new project on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals page. With any luck, you'll get some more response there. Also, a mildly related question. I don't think that there currently is an active project covering Wales, or the UK in general. I know it's asking a lot, but I wonder if you might be at all interested in maybe creating another project dealing with the UK as a whole. That way Wales and maybe the Channel Islands and a few other areas would be under the scope of a project as well. Just a suggestion. Also, if you want any help expanding the project page, just let me know. I've done a lot of project pages and might be able to make it a bit more appealing. Then again, as I've never really gotten any specific praise for my project pages, maybe not. I dunno. Badbilltucker 19:48, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
One suggestion might be to do what I've done with WikiProject Religion, which is to make the project one that helps in assessment (and maybe peer review and collaboration), but also one that specifically focuses on only those articles which are not currently within the scope of any of the "child" projects. That way, you can help out those projects which don't do some tasks, and focus the project's content-related activities on the content which all the other projects out there have yet to address. Multiple accounts[edit]

I myself have two accounts, one specifically for use for AWB and other such activities, and I've seen quite a few others do as well. You just have to make sure that your new account name is different enough to not raise immediate concerns and to have the new account registered for AWB use. Also, generally, say on the account's user page that it is a multiple account. Badbilltucker 13:45, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't required, but it is requested. However, as you have 1089 mainspace edits right now, you would qualify anyway. Badbilltucker 13:51, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, just let them know when you request it that it's your alternate account for tagging articles, and have the userpage of the new account say that it's an alternate account as well. Badbilltucker 13:55, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If that is your alternate account please use this account to sign (or edit saying that you are really in control of that account) in the userpage to confirm that it's your account, otherwise we have no way of knowing since there is no connection between the two accounts. --WinHunter (talk) 14:23, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
