October 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that in this edit to Mediterranean Science Commission, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 17:48, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adakiko
Please re-instate my (very) careful, informed editing. I read today for the first time the Wiki page on the Mediterranean Science Commission (CIESM) and remarked that it was full of factual, historical mistakes / or inaccuracies, and based on ancient, partial knowledge. Therefore I made the effort to carefully edit that text, based on my long practice of CIESM. I will be happy to provide sources in the next few days. In the mean time I invite you to compare my text with that of the official, authoritative webpages of CIESM www.ciesm.org (which reflect the collective wisdom of 24 Member Governments); you will note that I mostly removed factual errors and inconsistencies. Thank you.
Cheers, RFosca RFosca (talk) 18:01, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Mediterranean Science Commission, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Hi Riverbend21
I discovered today the Wiki page on the Mediterranean Science Commission (CIESM). Based on my long practice of that Commission, I immediately remarked that it was full of factual, historical mistakes / or inaccuracies, and relied on ancient, partial knowledge. I made therefore a (substantial) effort to carefully edit that text and I will be happy to provide sources in coming days. In the mean time, may I invite you to compare my text with that of the official, authoritative documents of CIESM [www.ciesm.org] which reflect the collective wisdom of 24 Member Governments- nothing less. You will note that I mostly removed the dust and focused on correcting factual/ historical errors and inconsistencies. RFosca (talk) 18:07, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Words that may introduce bias[edit]

Hello, RFosca. Thank you for your contributions, including editing Language. I removed your most recent addition, however, since phrases such as "It is interesting to note" can introduce editorializing or bias. The Manual of Style recommends avoiding loaded, value-laden, or other potentially editorializing language, and favors more plain statements of fact. Happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 03:44, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Cnilep for your useful remark - I will think of a way to avoid this unintended problem. RFosca (talk) 09:02, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Language, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Donald Albury 17:14, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me! I have inserted (from a file previously and properly loaded in Commons) an image showing the "Map of 24 CIESM Member States in 2022" but it is outsized. Can you please reduce it and insert it on the right of the first paragraph as in the French version?[edit]

Please help me with...

I wish I knew how to do this trick.

Citation in Bacteria[edit]

I have removed the citation you included in your recent edit to Bacteria because the link you provided did not work, and the source you cited was a master's thesis, which we do not use for sourcing, per WP:SCHOLARSHIP. I left a citation needed tag on the paragraph you added. If you can find another reliable source that supports that content, please cite it in the article. - Donald Albury 21:48, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Donald Albury for your timely alert. Indeed I had inserted a wrong source by negligence. This is now corrected. RFosca (talk) 15:16, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mediterranean Science Commission, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Climatic change. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
