Stop the trolling[edit]

Alright, let's consider it resolved if there's going to be no more editing from matt (or whoever's IP) from your account, and peace? Femto 22:45, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me chemaddict 08:35, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well then, no lasting damage done I hope, though you have to concede that edits from dubious varying identities, from interrelated sources, some of questionable honesty or clearly unhelpful, easily may fall under anybody's definition of troll user. It can only be your responsibility to keep your own identity distinguishable from that. Femto 12:22, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Femto 20:17, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

few pointers - i am not removing this so dont get stressed - have you ever considered the fact that more than one person uses this computer?! Also, look at the edits, NONE of them are malicious so stop playing God. If you actually take the time to read chemadicts comments 100% are truthful and have helped ppl with question. My edits of pages are also 100% helpful and i feel i have added good detail. Do you feel satisfaction when you block someone? chemaddict 15:56, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unless he slipped by while I wasn't looking Femto is not an administrator, and therefore cannot block users. Please stay civil. Also messages to other editors should go on their talk page, not their user page. Petros471 21:01, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sure thanks, although i have been civil, its Femto who has accused me of wrong doings chemaddict 15:55, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Considered this computer shared, yes, but not this account. So, are you Dr "John" Parker, or "matt", or Quantumchemistryfan|chemaddict, and why would 81.129.189.192 vandalize User:G N Frykman if 81.129.* hasn't talked to Frykman, but Quantumchemistryfan has? If you don't want this account get accused of wrongdoings, watch a bit better what it does. Femto 21:20, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

maybe chemaddict didnt sign in, thus having the same IP address. According to Petros you aren't an administrator so stop threatening me. I know this is the only 'power' you will ever have in your entire life, i would appreciate if you would stop victimising me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Quantumchemistryfan (talkcontribs) .

I think you misinterpreted what I said. By saying Femto wasn't an administrator I was pointing out that your question "Do you feel satisfaction when you block someone?" was not applicable. Femto, like any other editor, is perfectly entitled to warn you about inappropriate behaviour. This is especially true when an editor knows (by experience) that an admin is willing to back up those 'threats' (i.e. warnings).
"I know this is the only 'power' you will ever have in your entire life" - that is a personal attack, if you continue, you will be blocked. Please also sign all your posts with your username (i.e. don't sign as 'chemaddict' when you are 'Quantumchemistryfan'). IP addresses have nothing to do with that, as you are clearly the same person (logged into the same account). Petros471 08:44, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay then, who is matt? Why should he have something against Frykman or even know him? Is matt the idiot (your word), the vandal, or the professor with two names?

Why does 80.229.237.12 ask something, signs with Dr J Parker, the name from Quantumchemistryfan's account, [9], 2 minutes later 81.129.189.192 calls it a good question [10] and Quantumchemistryfan (Dr John Parker, remember?) re-signs that post with his account? [11]

You can explain all of this? I'll apologise. - Until then, every bit of trolling and sockpuppetry accusations seem warranted, and boy, do I get a kick out of it. If you want to keep this account, make sure it stays separate from the vandalism, inanities, and insults that come from the associated IP. Femto 10:37, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to Petros, i am both Quantumchemistry fan and Chemaddict, chemaddict is my nickname, this is 100% legitimate because you can change this on preferences when logged in. Im sorry for the all the 'vandalism' from my IP, however i feel the entire thing is rather petty - if you call that a personal attack (which i will refrain from doing so in the future) then i am very sorry, i didn't realise how incredibley sensitive you lot are.Femto, if you get a kick out of blocking people - get a life - i see you have been a valuable asset to wikipedia and I do not doubt you sincerity in any way at all. I appreciate what you do here, yet i do feel victimised and in my personal opinion i do feel just that. As a person, i do not like people who use power and prowess to discriminate against people. I have a network and people on my network, my self included, are wikipedians. People, therefore with the same IP address and with the same interets, make edits on wikipedia. I would understand if my information was not correct but all the edits that chemaddict (quantumchemistryfan) has made to articles are all 100% correct. Under the United Nations convention of human rights i am allowed to speak my mind, and although i understand there has to be some restrictions, i do not feel i have ventured beyond these.chemaddict 15:32, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you can change that option in your preferences, however choosing a name significantly different from your username can be confusing, especially if you do not sign consistently. I rather tend to agree with "i feel the entire thing is rather petty", so I'm going to drop this unless you carry out clear vandalism, use sockpuppets, carry out personal attacks, or otherwise continue being disruptive. Basically if you do some decent editing and stop arguing then I'll have no need to bother you further. Petros471 21:01, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can i also point out that two different IP address have been mentioned 80.229.237.12 and 81.129.189.192. So both of these are me i presume? This is ridiculous, i am getting blamed for multiple things. chemaddict 15:57, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can I also point out that 1) the sharing of one log-in account by several people on a network is not allowed by Wikipedia policy, for the very reason to avoid unclear user accountability situations like this; and 2) it's not just the anonymous IPs that behave strangely.

Femto 18:15, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(*) Ah, I see after your correction, the "Hi, my name is Dr John Parker" at the top of this page wasn't a message from you but to you, so that IP is cleared with respect to this account and I indeed apologize. No one's throwing blockings around, but you definitely need to get your login situation sorted out. Someone else using your account at least twice in a few days must not be. Especially when you all talk to each other, on the same Wikipedia page no less, and a few edits of the involved IP already weren't exactly helpful. It also helps keeping your image clean to keep a consistent signature, and not to call anybody an idiot (even if they recently showed they are) with your name over an edit from their own IP. Femto 22:45, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And this is defined by trolling how? You do realise if people dont sign out of accounts, the next person goes on i.e matt goes on, asks a question and signs his own name. Is this such a big deal? Why are you so pedantic? chemaddict 18:42, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this is a big deal. Is matt the vandal or the idiot, or with who am I talking right now? Don't want to get accused of other people's wrongdoings? Easy enough, don't let them use your account. It's in your own interest to be pedantic about your personal login. Femto 19:06, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good evening, all. Let's try and get a civil response now. G N Frykman 19:52, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There has been no damage done at all, no trolling or the likes. I would be civil if people would stop trying to intimmidate me with blocking. If you are going to throw blocks around like confetti then i think you should consider a shuffle round in admin. This is meant to be a pleasureable experience, but Femto has destroyed it for me - though i suppose he gets a kick out of it chemaddict 20:04, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am fairly new to Wikipedia myself. If there are any chemistry questions that I can help you with, please do not hesitate to ask. G N Frykman 20:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, much appreciated. chemaddict 21:20, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How were the chemistry papers? G N Frykman 22:33, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't as bad as i anticipated thanks, so im fairly optimisitc, but ill have to wait for results day with baited breath chemaddict 20:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
