Thank you for the reply. Made a big message but found out what it really was, so I edited *blush*. So how do processes make themselves hidden? Man... I really wish there were easier ways to remove viruses manually with Windows. Seems like they give you limited tools, and being a novice with PCs, I can only do so much.--Hellogoodsir 02:01, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Bot?

My message comes quite late. I just noticed that your edit [1] at Romanian nouns was mistaken, because you "corrected" a Romanian word according to English spelling rules... In the past the same mistake was made (twice!) by a bot; I hope you were not running a bot too, were you? As you might know, unattended spell-checking bots are not allowed on Wikipedia: [2]. No. I have not inquired as to how bots are used or where to use them; therefore, I do not run one. That day I was just correcting spelling errors. But thanks for letting me know about the error and I apologize for it. --Proficient 00:55, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Request for edit summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. It's not the first time I've seen that. I've also seen people remove a {{nn-bio}} and replace it with {{db-bio}}. Again, kind of pointless, since one redirects to the other. Fan-1967 07:10, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
