comment about 'List of U.S. state budgets' article

Hello, 'List of U.S. state budgets' is a very interesting article, nice idea. I just wanted to make one comment about it and that's that I think it could use some clarity on the budget figures, specifically whether the budget number is just the state general fund (revenue from direct state taxes like state income/sales/etc taxes) or the all funds budget that includes special and federal funds in addition to the state general fund. For example, the $97 billion figure cited for California's 2014 budget refers to its general fund only and ignores both 'special funds' and federal funds. When those are all added together in the all-funds budget, the 2014 California state budget totals $200+ billion [Reference#1].

I wanted to point that out because it can be confusing. For example, I live in Oregon and the $60 billion figure cited for that state budget is the all funds budget and its also a two year budget as opposed to an annual budget [Reference#2] so it'd probably have to be cut in half if the article is comparing 12 month fiscal year budgets across states. I was like "no way California has a $97 billion budget while Oregon is $60 billion when there's a ~10x difference in population between the two states." I don't know much about other states but I imagine there could be similar issues with their numbers. Just my thoughts, thanks.

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

RPOTD

There appears to be a problem with some of your RPOTD pictures when the user is a commons user. See, for instance: User:Presidentman/potd/27 February 2010. The credit text looks like it should be assigned to the "credit" parameter, not the "user" parameter. Compare the rendering of the "Image credit" line:

|user=Commons user Kymi (talk)

A Mourning Cloak, (Nymphalis antiopa), state butterfly of Montana
Image credit: Commons user Kymi (talk) (talk · contribs)
|credit=Commons user Kymi (talk)

A Mourning Cloak, (Nymphalis antiopa), state butterfly of Montana
Image credit: Commons user Kymi (talk)

If your archived picture subpages are auto-generated, maybe your script needs to take this into account. Or if there's a better way to fix this, I'm sure you know it better than I do. I just thought I'd let you know in case the problem escaped your notice. --Fru1tbat (talk) 14:38, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 29

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Timeline of United States history, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Battle of Yorktown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thank You

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
I thank you so much for your edits on Timeline of United States history. I've been trying to figure out how to add images on the side for so long, but I could never figure it out.

I would like to float some ideas out there regarding the images in the 21st century section. Though I personally think you did a fine job representing history with the pictures that you added, I just think that in some instances it should be more focused on events rather than just portraits. I don't want to seem like I'm motivated to censor images based on the 'showing pictures of the enemy is commemorating them' argument (which I just plain out view as silly), but for instance, instead of a portrait of Osama bin Laden representing his death, some may think that The Situation Room (photograph) would better represent the event. Or instead of a lesser known image of Sadam Hussein that was taken after being captured, the picture of Colin Powell addressing the U.N. with the vile of anthrax or George W. Bush delivering his speech on the invasion of Iraq may be seen as more symbolic in representing the Iraq War.

I don't want to advocate this timeline be a random collection of images of politicians or anything like that, but I just thought I'd throw some ideas out there. If you would like to correct an image or discuss some of the images that I added, please feel free to visit me on my talk page.

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot

We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.

IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.

Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. Regards from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 23:59, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 22

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Military leadership in the American Revolutionary War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sir Henry Clinton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
