Image tagging for Image:Harlan_ellison_bio.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Harlan_ellison_bio.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Deepshag logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Deepshag logo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 14:31, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The above image is not used in any article you linked to on my talk page. Since you removed the orphan fair use tag, I will be nominating the image using the more formal IfD process. You will see the notice posted shortly below. You are welcome to comment on the deletion process; follow the link in the notice to the IfD page.--Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 02:18, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The image that is used on the page for the record label is Image:Deepshag logo-small.jpg. Please note that the name is different. The image in use is not being deleted, this duplicate one is.--Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 02:23, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Deepshag logo.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Deepshag logo.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 02:21, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apparent copyright violations[edit]

I just flagged Fish Karma as a copyright violation of [1] and Sussman Lawrence as a copyright violation of [2]. I also note that you've put some copyright tags on the images Image:Fish karma logo.jpg, Image:Fish karma.jpg and Image:Sussman.jpg that in light of this look extremely dubious. I should warn you that Wikipedia's copyright policies are pretty strict about this sort of thing and repeated violations are a very serious manner. I'd recommend going through your edit history and double-checking the tags you've put on your uploads to make sure they're accurate, make sure the sources for the images are given, and if there are other articles you've copied from deepshag.com you should go flag them so they can be rewritten before more editor effort is wasted on doomed material. I'm going through your edit history myself right now and will be flagging other problems as I find them. Bryan Derksen 05:33, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Stress cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Stress cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:16, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Himmelman-sussman7.jpg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Himmelman-sussman7.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Fair use disputed for Image:He-v3.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:He-v3.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:58, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem: Lunch with the Devil[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Lunch with the Devil, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from , and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Lunch with the Devil and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Lunch with the Devil with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Lunch with the Devil.

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at Talk:Lunch with the Devil/Temp. Leave a note at Talk:Lunch with the Devil saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Wolfer68 (talk) 20:14, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. If Deep Shag records released the material at the website, they seem to have revoked that release, as it is not currently displayed. The article has unfortunately had to be blanked again pending some permanent display of release. There is more information about this at the article's talk page. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:21, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. If you don't wish to keep that notice displayed on the page, please follow through by resending the letter to the Communications Committee. The boilerplate release is generally the best way to be sure that you have covered every aspect necessary for us to display the material. Once an OTRS ticket is logged, it doesn't matter what the website says. The material won't be a concern for copyright reasons. It's generally a good idea to include a link to the external site in the e-mail and a link to the article on Wikipedia as well, and be sure that the e-mail address that sends the release is visibly associated with the website. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 03:02, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Lunch devil cover.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:57, 8 December 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 13:57, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ellison1 cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ellison1 cover.jpg. File permission problem with File:Assassin band.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Assassin band.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.50.172 (talk) 22:21, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If you continue to add back copyrighted material you will be banned from editing and creating articles. ttonyb1 (talk) 23:50, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{permissionOTRS}} {{GFDL}} --Powerofshark (talk) 03:10, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Deep Shag Records has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable record company - fails WP:CORP ONLY claim to any form of notability is one of inheritance through a notable author (no ref however) that has released via them.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Codf1977 (talk) 20:07, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, On the Road with Ellison Volume 7, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption.
