Dave Ramsey Article[edit]

On the subject of the Jack Russel link, I rewrote the entire Dave Ramsey article about a month ago after a very long revert war between an anonymous user claiming that anyone removing his slanderous comments about Dave Ramsey was a Dave Ramsey lover and should be banned from Wikipedia for doing so. It took an enormous effort on my part to bring in enough editors and finally admins to agree to the nature of the comments he was using. One legitimate concern through this however was that the article not be "pro-Dave Ramsey," only written in an encyclopediac fashion, and some believed (as seems to be fashion amongst wikipedia unfortunately) that any valid criticism should find its way into the page. My arguement was that unless you included blogs or Amazon.com reviews (which we agreed were not valid) there really wasn't any criticism besides what was documented through his books. Then I found a number of Realty websites pressing basically the same Jack Russel view, but I felt they were not legitimate because they included a link to a "the only way to get rich!" type of deal. Then I found the Jack Russel page, and as far as I could tell, it was simply a legitimate self published author with a section of his page reviewing other peoples "get out of debt" programs. I didn't see anything on the page pushing anything in particular, so I includeded it. Unfortunately, by removing that link you've invalided the point, and it is a valid one. It is the authors point of view of course, has nothing to do with pushing anything, just his opinion on Dave Ramsey. Which he admits he doesn't have a huge knowledge of anyway, but it is one of the few legitimate criticisms of him that you can find out there. I guess my point is, if you want to do anything with this, I highly recommend opening a dialog on the talk page about removing the point if you feel it represents a minority point of view. Under Biography of Living Persons guidelines, the point would have to be removed. But by putting it on the talk page, you'd give people a chance to find enough evidence to support it one way or the other. My own personal feeling is that there are a lot of cocky real estate agents out there who think this is the case. I think they're wrong, I agree more with Ramsey. But I feel the point is valid, and I'd like to see some discussion on whether it belongs, simply for protocol sake. (because after that huge revert war, you get tired of having to defend yourself, feeling like no one else out there is supporting you) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arkcana (talkcontribs) 07:54, 27 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

AfD Nomination: Anthony Minnuto[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Anthony Minnuto meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthony Minnuto. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article.

PS Take a look at the detailed exchange I had with another editor at Talk:Anthony Minnuto. It was about this article's notability issues and how to quickly fix them.--A. B. (talk) 20:40, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Johnny Fratto, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
