File source problem with File:Tresheadshot06.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Tresheadshot06.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:02, 17 June 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 03:02, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Tresheadshot06.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 15:48, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Tres Hanley 2017.jpeg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Tres Hanley 2017.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Train2104 (t • c) 22:29, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm William Allen Simpson. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Aunt Jemima have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. It was a copy of other copyrighted material, and most of the references were already in the article. In fact, you ruined one of the proper refs.

PleeUK, you wrote this on my Talk page: "You are looking to delete my friends page. Is there a place to discuss and supply proof of the work. I know some of the reference links seem to be dead now. They were not 10 yrs ago but now they are. But there is other proof of all this work being legit. I am novice at doing wiki. You offer assistance you say here. Could you perhaps help me with the page? PleeUK (talk) 14:35, 24 April 2024 (UTC)"[reply]
  • 1. You didn't even bother to tell me which page you were accusing me about.
  • 2. I am actually not looking to delete the page. I did not nominate it for deletion. What I did, actually, was improve it a great deal by adding dates and the names of her roles and removing cruft and adding a source that may, actually, help to save the page.
  • 3. Yes, there is a place to discuss it, as noted in the above Nomination message. The link to the discussion page is in bold blue type.
  • 4. If you want to save the page, you need to do research about Hanley and find citations to WP:Reliable sources that support statements made on the page from reviews and feature articles about her performances or herself. Please read these guidelines: WP:RS and WP:V.
  • 5. As you note above, you have a WP:COI with respect to this article, so you should not work on it directly. If you find citations to WP:Reliable sources that support assertions in her article, post them on the article's Talk page, and I will be happy to help you to format them and can insert them appropriately into the article.
  • 6. When you begin a discussion or question on a Talk page, begin a new section, at the bottom of the Talk page. -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:53, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tres Hanley issues[edit]

So I see two issues right off the bat. One, you said in this edit, "You are looking to delete my friends page." But in the deletion discussion, you said you "cannot say I am a friend". So, bad start. Please read WP:COI to see why this is a problem, and try to be forthright from now on. Misleading statements will get you into trouble faster than anything else.
Second, you say that "all her works are also verifiable on IMDB". Unfortunately, IMDB does not meet the requirement laid out in WP:RS (mostly because it is user-generated content and editorial oversight by IMDb staff is minimal). For more on why IMDB doesn't qualify, read WP:CITINGIMDB. Those links should be enough to get you started, if you'd like to continue to contribute to the project in a positive way. Let me know if you have any questions. Fred Zepelin (talk) 17:01, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am copying here some messages from the AfD discussion that are more appropriate here:
You wrote: "I have a scrap book with information but i cannot track it to the periodicals online today. This is from over 20 yrs ago not now all online. PleeUK (talk) 17:14, 24 April 2024 (UTC)"[reply]
They don't have to be online. Here is how you can succeed: We need the name of the publication, the title and date of the article or book, the name of the author and the page number on which the information appeared. Post those things on the article's Talk page, and also type out the exact text from the article that verifies a statement made in Henley's article, so that I and other editors can see it, and if it does verify WP:NOTEWORTHY facts about her from a WP:RS, then I can add an appropriate cite to her Wikipedia entry. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:27, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
