Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address currently is 185.211.158.234. It says it’s from Krasnodar, which is not where I am located, but it is just the IP I got when I turned on cellular on my mobile device. The IP I was blocked from is in the range: 185.211.156.0/22, and it does show the approximate location of where I actually live: Moscow. What I also noticed, is that I didn’t have this problem when editing the 3blue1brown page, which was in April, and the block is there from November. So I am almost certain, that this block is a misunderstanding. Platongoextreme (talk) 05:08, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

It isn't clear exactly what your message dated 20:45, 3 May 2024 is intended to mean, but it appears to be saying that you appear to now be able to edit, and expect to remove the unblock request after a week if there are no new problems. It is now more than two weeks since you said that. Dead or otherwise unnecessary unblock requests can waste a large amount of administrator time, as we spend time checking them instead of doing more useful work, such as checking active unblock requests, so I am closing the request. Please post a new one if necessary. JBW (talk) 21:28, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Are you using a VPN to avoid government restrictions or surveillance? 331dot (talk) 08:17, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That’s the thing: Wikipedia is not restricted; in fact, a lot of the things I use daily are not restricted and don’t need VPN for me to use. The only time I used a VPN is to check stats for amount of podcasts and episodes (the site is restricted), but when I used it, it said I was blocked for a year. Now, I understood what happened, and turned it off, but after that, I was still blocked with the Krasnodar IP. The VPN wasn’t even Russian, it was Dutch! Platongoextreme 13:31, 3 May 2024 (MSK)

That IP address runs the following proxies: NEXUS_PROXY (RESIDENTIAL), HIGHSPEEDRABBIT_PROXY (RESIDENTIAL), LUMINATI_PROXY (RESIDENTIAL), OXYLABS_PROXY (RESIDENTIAL). --Yamla (talk) 11:29, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but I don’t use a proxy. I’ll just use my computer instead, I’ll tell how it goes, maybe the blocked IP is dynamic. Platongoextreme 19:33, 3 May 2024 (MSK)

Okay, so it does work, IP is 80.251.235.234 (obviously it works), I'll just make note of this and won't edit pages from my phone and expect it to work. Will delete this entire discussion in a week maybe if I won't have any issues. Platongoextreme 20:45, 3 May 2024 (MSK)
