Minor edits?

Hey, it looks like all your recent edits are marked as minor edits. But many are not simple typo/formatting fixes or changes. If your user preferences are set to mark all edits as minor, maybe that should be turned off. Review WP:MINOR if needed. Keep up the good work. I'll check back here if you want to reply. Thanks. -fnlayson (talk) 13:37, 19 December 2010 (UTC)  Done

Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 04:22, 20 January 2011 (UTC)  Done

Category:Rail lines in Utah

Question about "Light Rail in New York" category.

I don't see that light rail is mentioned in this article, with no construction work started or completed in Rochester.

I noted that you modified the category of "Light Rail" to reflect "New York" being more appropriate.

Do you think the category of "Light Rail" or "Light Rail in New York" is warranted?

--Allamericanbear (talk) 18:11, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Just checked it and you're correct it likely doesn't. I'm not sure why it was ever included in "Light Rail" so I'll remove it from the "Light Rail in New York" category. Plasma east (talk) 03:27, 11 February 2011 (UTC)  Done

Rapid Transit cats

I've got to give you credit, because you're really kicking some ass tonight. Not only did you split the PANY-NJ AirTrain category, but you made state-specific rapid transit station categories. I've been looking to have separate MBTA Station categories by type for a while, and I think AirTrain Newark needs their own station templates now. Keep up the good work. ----DanTD (talk) 03:10, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks - the Category:Rapid transit in the United States was getting a bit cluttered. I've also split out Category:Rapid transit stations in the United States but not sure if I got them all. Plasma east (talk) 21:04, 14 February 2011 (UTC)  Done

Empty or single-page Categories

Hi, I wanted to know what is the point of creating arborescence of categories for 1 single article...

Inside the "Category:Transport in Macau", there is now:

  • Public transport in Macau (1C)
    • Passenger rail transport in Macau (1C)
      • Light rail in Macau (1P)

There is also:

  • Rail transport in Macau (1 C)
    • Passenger rail transport in Macau (1C)
      • Light rail in Macau (1P)

So if I am looking for the page Macau Light Rail Transit by browing the category Transport in Macau, I will not find it until I expand twice the public transport or the rail transport...

This arborescence may be good for countries with a developped rail network but Macao isn't, believe me, actually the LRT there hasn't started yet... but that is another story.

--Pignoof (talk) 06:55, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Looking back and with your input, I agree - 2 categories too far. I was basing it somewhat on the Hong Kong categories but wasn't sure if Macau had further potential for light rail, passenger rail or rail transport articles.Plasma east (talk) 21:06, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Category:Underground rapid transit in Finland

While I appreciate your interest in my home country, I have to ask what is the point in creating the category Category:Underground rapid transit in Finland when the Helsinki Metro is the only underground rapid transit system Finland has ever had, and the only likely change in the near future is the ongoing expansion to the neighbouring city of Espoo. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:18, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Minor edits and edit summaries

Hi,

You did a nice job with your improvements to the Montreal, Maine and Atlantic Railway article. Just curious: is there a reason why you mark all of your edits as minor? Many of your edits were not minor in nature, and as such should not be marked as minor edits. Also, if you could provide an Edit Summary before saving your edits, that would be enormously helpful to your fellow editors. Thanks and happy editing, BMRR (talk) 00:01, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

RCN, RCAF

Please be careful with edits such as this not to introduce anachronisms. While they were once and are again called the RCN/RCAF, at the time of interest for this article they were not, as reflected in the cited sources. Otherwise, it's a nice edit. NF Railway logo?

Hello. I'm not sure of what your source is, but would it be possible to get the old style NF logo in a vector art format? Perhaps an EPS or SVG?

Thanks!

Re move Comd RCN to CMS

See User talk:Geoff NoNick#Comd RCN. MARGEN 036-11 is not publicly available but there is no reason to doubt the editor's word. I was myself surprised at the name change and the drop of the CMS title. — CharlieEchoTango — 18:34, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks - didn't see the discussion before I made the change. No issues here if this change in the appointment's title has been made. Plasma east (talk) 16:32, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Well the issue is that the article is inaccurate since CMS is not the title anymore, the page needs to be moved back to where it was moved by Geoff NoNick in this edit. I just wanted to let you know before doing it. :) Best, — CharlieEchoTango — 18:14, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
I'll move it back. Checked the Senior Appointments list here and it is called Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy DSA Vice-Admiral Maddison Plasma east (talk) 20:11, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Maps of PEI

Hi,

I see that all the maps like: "Map of Prince Edward Island highlighting Lot 1.png" are nor in the Commons, could you move them to the Commons, so that a newbie like me could reach them. I'm afraid to make a mistake while moving them.

I need them there so that I can reach them from the french wikipedia, I do a lot of translation.

Thanks, vir cotto — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vir cotto (talkcontribs) 10:00, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

I'll look into how to do it - I've never placed anything in the Commons before so might take a few days.Plasma east (talk) 11:28, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Commander of the Canadian Army?

While I agree with you that the above title might sound better, (and even "Commander, Canadian Army" seems more grammatically correct), I could find no source to support either. The only source I could find was this one (and its subordinate link). Do you have a source for your change? Sunray (talk) 01:45, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

This note is just to let you know that your recent edits to this article introduced some problems. First, the RCAF did not exist between 1 February 1968 and 15 August 2011 so to call it that in between those dates is inaccurate. It is also inaccurate to refer to people who only served in the CF and not the RCAF as "retired RCAF Colonel..." etc. Second, you changed a few of the dates in the article from the WikiProject Aircraft consensus standard of ddmmyy to mmddyy format, making the dates in the article inconsistent as well as against consensus. You also introduced changes to direct quotes and spelling errors. I have fixed all these problems. Please discuss if you have questions. - Ahunt (talk) 11:57, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
