ClueBot template

I've removed the autoarchive template from your talkpage. Setting it so that any threads are archived within two hours to a page not easily findable or linked to is not conductive to Wikipedia's collaborative editing environment. I will reiterate my previous message as well; your oppose at Rambo's Revenge's RfA has been commented on. You might like to reply when you have a moment. Ironholds (talk) 00:43, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Its not an Oppose its a neutral. I won't oppose a candidate solely because of their username, ever. Please don't remove anything from this page or it will be identified as vandalism. Also I'm very busy this eve I've to go out sorry! PirateSmackKArrrr! 01:22, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Do you mean "it will be automatically identified as vandalism" or "you will interpret it as vandalism"? Ironholds (talk) 01:27, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Dear PirateSmackK,

Thank you for applying for NPWatcher! Unfortunately, your application has been declined because it seems that you don't have at least 500 edits. When you fulfill this requirement, feel free to re-apply.

Please don't use templates inappropriately like this. Ironholds (talk) 13:13, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Its not inappropriate use; you don't have access to their deleted contribution. PirateSmackKArrrr! 13:16, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I assume, then, that they created an inappropriate page? I can't see any kind of "page X has been tagged for deletion" message on the talkpage. Ironholds (talk) 13:17, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Gorgosnov. I decided to give them {{welcomevandal}} instead. PirateSmackKArrrr! 13:19, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough, then. Ironholds (talk) 13:21, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

(archivenow!) PirateSmackKArrrr! 13:22, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your feedback, but I think you may have misunderstood. It depends entirely on the situation:

  • WP:AIV is appropriate for vandalism-related issues which is one such instance of what I was referring to. It certainly isn't the end-all-be-all of places to report issues
  • WP:ANI for Incidents
  • WP:RFPP for issues needing page protection
  • etc.

My point is that you should report the appropriate problem to the appropriate venue, not that WP:AIV is where you should go for everything.

If there is anything I can clarify or say/do to get you to change your mind, please let me know. In any case, have a pleasant day/evening. — BQZip01 — talk 13:23, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your opinion

Just in case you haven't had had had had had had had had had had had enough...

I'm hoping to keep the conversation about this article active and avoid the usual fleeing from a topic that takes place after an AfD has closed. There was much talk about merging this article but little agreement on where to merge it to. Therefore I am informing everyone who participated in the debate of the ongoing conversation here in order to bring this matter to a close sometime in our lifetimes. Beeblebrox (talk) 03:05, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Red Matter.

So why is By NC not allowed? I thought WikiPedia is nonprofit, which is non commercial?

So basically nothing from Wikia would be allowed on WikiPedia even if it adds to the build of a fictional database for a popular fictional subject?

RE: Cobi

No, although someone may have pointed him towards the ANI thread, I dunno. Ironholds (talk) 04:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

If you're asking "did you ask him on IRC to disallow the use of Cluebot, still no. See the post directly above this one. In future, it is easier to just ask rather than linking your question to WP:IRC. Ironholds (talk) 04:45, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Really? How nice for you. It is nice to think things. I think that I didn't, and I'm telling the truth. I'd know, of course, being as unlike you I can see inside my head. Try Assuming good faith, avoiding accusations.. heck, maybe ask him yourself if you want. I have never contacted Cobi - hell, until you linked him I had no idea who maintained cluebot. Ironholds (talk) 04:48, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
WP:AGF is not violated if I point my suspicion at you. Infact you are the one who had problem with archiving of my talk page. PirateSmackKArrrr! 04:56, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

You got round to any GA work? Jolly Ω Janner 16:14, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

No but I will do now. Some users were trying to harass annoy me by disallowing me from using cluebot, making frivolous ANI complaints etc so writing GA completely slipped out of my mind! I will do now, thanks for the reminder. PirateSmackKArrrr! 18:10, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

My Twinkle is not working, why? I installed it from Gadgets and cleared browser cache and logged in back but it won't work. Did someone blacklist me from using twinkle? I'm just trying to revert vandalism PirateSmackKArrrr! 21:14, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Are you autoconfirmed? I think it needs that before it lets you use it. Hang on, I'll take a look at your monobook. Ironholds (talk) 21:31, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh, and does your browser have Javascript active? Ironholds (talk) 21:34, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the feedback

Unfortunately, my RFA was closed today with a final tally of 75½/38/10. Though it didn't succeed, I wanted to thank you for your participation in it. I intend to review the support, oppose, and neutral !votes and see what I can do to address those concerns. Special thanks go to Schmidt, MICHAEL Q., TomStar81, and henrik for their co-nominations and support. — BQZip01 — talk 20:15, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, PirateSmackK. You have new messages at Wuhwuzdat's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Wuhwuzdat (talk) 13:09, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey

I'm not new to Wikipedia, you know, but thank you for the double welcome, I guess? Oh, and could you stop reverting my changes? :D--POWERCOMPUTER - TALK 20:40, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Please tell me why you declined speedy deletion on this article. I can't fathom what criteria you were thinking of. It clearly does not assert to satisfy Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Athletes. Toddst1 (talk) 10:29, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

It was unsourced, but did assert significance. Failing WP:BIO is not a criteria for speedy deletion.
It asserted significance for being a winner and/or representing India in the following competitions:

- Runner-up: Northern India Sub Junior Golf Championship (1988)

- Represented India in Optimist World Junior Golf Championship, San Diego - California, USA (1989)

- Represented India in British Boys Championship, Nairns - Scotland, UK (1989)

- Represented India in Doug Sanders Australia-Asia Zone Junior Champioship, Sydney - Australia (1990)

Being unreferenced or "not passing Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Athletes" is an AfD/prod issue, not CSD. PirateSmackKArrrr! 10:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Winning all of those competitions does not assert notability according to Wikipedia:Bio#Athletes so CSD is very appropriate. You should become more familiar with CSD rules before you decline further speedy deletions nominations. Toddst1 (talk) 10:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
And the administrator alone decides what does and doesn't pass WP:BIO? :) I think this biography might pass WP:BIO#Any biography because he has won so many awards. The only problem I see with this article is its being unreferenced. PirateSmackKArrrr! 10:58, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

ANI

Per the ANI discussion on you I've offered to act as a mentor. If you'd be interested, give me a poke on my talkpage. Bear in mind that this may be the best offer you'll get - while the oppose/support ratio for a topic ban is about 50:50 at the moment, you being seen to turn down any offers of mentoring/assistance could very well push some people over to the other side. Ironholds (talk) 11:01, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Mentorship isn't designed to restrict editing - essentially I'll keep an eye on your contributions, tell you if you're doing something wrong, so on. If you have queries/problems, you come to me and I try and sort them out. In this case it would be an excellent alternative to the topicban. Ironholds (talk) 14:18, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm going to echo Yintan's (now removed) urge that you accept the mentorship; I think it will do you some good, and help address some of the concerns that many editors (including myself) have. EVula // talk // // 14:24, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry EVula, he left me a message on my talkpage accepting. It'll effectively start from tomorrow, when I get to a PC I can damn use properly cure you, netbook, with your tiny tiny screen . Ironholds (talk) 14:30, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Please see my reply to your comment there — [1]. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 04:19, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

RE: Expansion

Google normally works best for stuff like that, in my experience, although with my articles I use a lot of books. I note in addition that the references linked to in those articles contain a lot more information than found in the articles themselves - weaving that in might be a good start. Thanks, Ironholds (talk) 07:58, 31 May 2009 (UTC) (archivenow!)

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. It needs to be 87kb before I'll be happy with it :). In future could you leave messages like that on my talkpage? I don't always see them if they're stuck at sub-talk-pages like that, I only found it because I was browsing your contributions. Ironholds (talk) 08:22, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

In addition, and on an unrelated subject, I suggest linking your talkpage to your talkpage archives. Ironholds (talk) 08:58, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
