User talk archival[edit]

Hey and long time no see! I just happened to notice that in your most recent user talk archival, you moved the page to User talk:ArchiveSept2019, aka the talkpage of the fictional user ArchiveSept2019. I'm going to guess you intended to move it to User talk:Pegship/ArchiveSept2019 as with your other archives? AddWittyNameHere 01:21, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

indeed! Error corrected. (I hope.)
Seems fixed now, yes. Other than the lack of signature on the above comment, anyway. AddWittyNameHere 22:33, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Category Barnstar[edit]

I've remastered your 2007 barnstar and added it to Template:The Category Barnstar. I know there was a Categorization Barnstar, but I thought your design was way better. I've added both templates @Wikipedia:WikiProject Categories. Jerm (talk) 14:01, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stub categories[edit]

Hello, I have not worked much in the stub category creation and related work so far. However, I miss some stub categories every now and then when I work on stub-sorting. These are mostly non-controversial, and mostly related to India. For example, there are 30+ states in India, however a few states are missing here: Category:India stubs by state or union territory (and hence subcategories as well). Should I propose stub categories/templates Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals as Speedy/General after doing precheck.
Could I guide me a little while I try to explore this area? Regards, --Titodutta (talk) 23:33, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Titodutta (talk · contribs) - Hello, and thanks for asking. Firstly, if you decide a stub type is needed, by all means propose it at the project page. Secondly, I'm not sure why some states are missing from Category:India stubs by state or union territory, unless perhaps there are not enough articles to create a sub-category for a particular state/territory. In that case, an upmerged template for a state could be created, but project guidelines are not to create a stub category for a template until the template is used on more than 60 articles. Does this information help at all? Her Pegship (I'm listening) 23:28, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:23, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nepal-geo-stub[edit]

Your Pegship, {{Mechi-geo-stub}} is now orphaned. And {{Terhathum-geo-stub}} needs to be moved to {{Tehrathum-geo-stub}}. Regards! Usedtobecool ☎️ 06:22, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I also wanted to ask you if there is a way to check if there are red geo-stub templates in mainspace. I have started using AWB, and I am worried I might miss a typo and accidentally put an article into a non-existing geo-stub. Usedtobecool ☎️ 06:26, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Also orphaned {{Dhawalagiri-geo-stub}}, {{Seti-geo-stub}} and {{Mahakali-geo-stub}}. Last of the bunch, I think. Best, Usedtobecool ☎️ 07:39, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Nepal Barnstar of National Merit
Thank you for your diligent work organising thousands of stubs on Nepal's geography—for hours of research and homework it must have needed, dozens of new templates and categories that needed creating, and thousands of edits adding them to the articles. Is the nominator supposed to create the category? If yes, how is he even meant to notice his discussion was closed? 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 10:38, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, @1234qwer1234qwer4:! If the nom prefers that someone else create the category, they may just say so as part of the proposal, or contact someone who seems to be active in that area. Also, using the "watch this page" function when making a proposal will normally give someone a heads-up when the discussion is closed. Her Pegship (I'm listening) 22:06, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Check stub template and category[edit]

Hi Pegship,

I have created the template and category for pyrotechnics stubs as was approved at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals/Archive/2020/June#Pyrotechnics stub by a big amount of votes ;-) I think I have done it correctly, but , if you have time, I'll appreciate if you could check it. Thank you. Alexcalamaro (talk) 06:54, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: I just now noticed the PetScan query linked in the proposal returned all the articles about pyrotechnics, not just the stubs. I think the created stub category (only 9 articles) should better be upmerged for now. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 14:06, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 1234qwer1234qwer4, if you check the "Templates &links" label, you'll see that in templates box is selected asbox , this means that the article has the stub template in it. Depending on the Depth selected in Categories label, we have 40 articles for depth=1 to 126 articles for depth=10. Alexcalamaro (talk) 08:19, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexcalamaro: Oh, I'm very sorry. Still, it seems many of these don't quite fit the pyrotechnics stub cat, especially the rocketry stubs. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 11:34, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sports seasons and bulk deletions[edit]

Hi Pegship,

If you have any time, I would appreciate it if you could bring your knowledge to this discussion.

I was hoping to solve a problem of excessive deletionism which is based on poor arguments and evidence, but it's becoming the same go-nowhere debate as on the Deletion pages - it really needs an outside view.

Re: How do I do it??[edit]

Hi, I use AWB for most of the sorting I do. For some of the more complicated sorting I use a javascript tool, that I came across years ago and no longer understand that lets me change stub tags, it allows me to select stub tags for the article. I also use petscan to create lists which helps. Waacstats (talk) 18:28, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
