It looks good, but perhaps if there was anything I would change, it would be the lower tier, to make it into a single block without the gap, because although there is a gap its counted as just one tier. Maybe you could fit the stand names in if you had North Stand, South Stand, West Stand and East Stand inside the according stands, instead of round the outside, and just having the Kronenburg Upper and Premier Concourse on the outside, with the lower tier being merged, it'd make a little bit more space for them to fit inside, but your choice. Hi, I've left a comment at the Stadium of Light peer review about the stands. The bottom tier stands are named North, South, East and West. The upper stands are called Kronenburg upper (which is the higher tier of the North stand) and the Premier Concourse (on top of the west stand). Hope this clears it up a little bit. Tah. Sub-categories of football competitions

Hi,

I really don't think it's necessary to include the various World Cup articles directly in Category:FIFA competitions as well as in the sub-categories. Articles should only be placed in the most specific categories they fit in. For that reason I think the additional cat should be removed from FIFA U-20 World Cup. Unknown United players known?

At MUFCInfo.com, I found a few first names for some of the unknown players.

• G. Felton seems to be named George Felton
• G. Foley is George Foley
• Rattigan is William Rattigan
• F. Sawyer is Thomas Sawyer (A F and a T might be confused and they both made their first appearance at the same match)
• J. Sneddon is John Sneddon

See, the bits I'm worried about are the "their own knowledge" and "other people" bits. If this specific information can be attributed to books/match programmes/official media, then that's fair enough, but I wouldn't deem their own knowledge to be a reliable source. I've expanded the Jimmy Murphy (footballer) article a bit and added his WBA playing stats. I've made a couple of corrections (his place of birth and when he joined Albion) so if these conflict with your sources please let me know and we can discuss and maybe footnote if necessary.

Tevez loan

I noticed you removed my cited loan, on the Tevez article, saying "it is not a loan. you cannot be on loan from a company". Please note that football clubs are companys, and while not on loan from West Ham he is on from Kia Joorabchian (MSI). You can be on loan from companys per all these reliable sources. [1][2][3] And more recently (this week) [4][5][6]. I think this is quite strong evidence that he is on loan.

CL 2008 Edits

1. a lot of material was not relevant ot the match (and hence the article). 'reactions' was an open ended section that drifted off into things that had nothing to do with the match. this is an article on the 2008 final, not the whole 2008 CL, the city of moscow, or what arsene wenger, capello or joe bloggs said about the result. 2. the road to the final is given in the CL 07/08 article itself. extensively. 3. the intro needed tidying - how is the teams that play at the Luzniki stadium relevant to the match and the article?

When writing an article, the writer should assume that the reader knows nothing of the subject. Obviously, in this case, this doesn't mean explaining what football is, what the Champions League is, etc., but it should require a short explanation of how the teams got to the final, a short piece about the match itself (as a concept) and its marketing/branding, and the aftermath with respect to the two teams. That is what we have at 2008 UEFA Champions League Final, and I think it's rather well done. It could do with a little trimming in the "Road to the final" section, but other than that, I believe you went a bit OVER THE TOP with your edits. – PeeJay 21:47, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

explanaton of how the teams got there is in the CL 07/08 article. the match summary is unaltered and ok. 'aftermath' is too open ended - you could have reactions from everyone and anyone; look at articles on european cup finals from 20 years ago - do they record the reactions of minor journos, managers who werent even there, etc.. no they don't. quotes from the managers present, players, etc. may have a place here, but it's scope should be strictly limited - what was there simply rambled! it is not necessary to explain what the champions league is, where the logo came from (that's not a new thing btw), who plays at the ground, what a coincidence everthign is, who roman abramovich is and where he comes from, etc...see my point! I got it out from the library when I was getting City of Manchester Stadium ready for FAC; it details pretty much every sports venue ever to have existed in Manchester. Premier League season articles

Hi PeeJay, I was wondering whether you had any ideas about how to cleanup the season articles for the Premier League because at the moment they seem to follow completely different standards. For example, some give season summaries for each of the teams (but in some cases, as for the review for Arsenal in 2002-03, they are much longer than all the others and Charlton do not even have a one line review). Some give statistics and others don't, the leads are of completely different lengths etc. I added the rest of the results for the 2002-03 article and feel this needs to be done for all the other articles. If you can prove to me, by your OED, that stadium comes from latin and only latin then i shall concede to your "stadia" My 1974 OED and everyone i've asked agrees with me, some of them studying latin. i know people get confused about words from latin like some saying "a bacteria" when they mean "a bacterium" but i am not one of them. Have you ever considered that the word isn't second declesion Latin? In fact if it is a borrowed word it is more likely to be a masculine word in the third declension and therefore will not decline stadium/-um/-i/-o/-i/-a/-a/-orum/-is/-is. (Yeah i know my Latin) Besides what you said is that the word is Greek so we have borrowed it from Greek and therefore it pluralises in the way we want it to, which is usually by adding an "s". Hey, looking at the article, it looks like all of the points have been taken care of except for one I made about Cantona; the sentence: "From then on, it seemed to some that the match had ceased to be primarily a tribute to the Busby Babes and more about Cantona." - is a very bold assertion by an encyclopaedia. I think it needs to become "...was criticised by the press as ceasing being primarily a tribute to the Busby Babes, and more a testimonial to Cantona." This would need to be sourced, I'm going to assume that source 52 covers it. It's one of those which seems obvious to those of us who actually follow English football, but needs some external verification for WP:OR grounds. I also want to say thta I'm not looking at the article on prose grounds, as I consider that my weak point, so you may want to ask for some feedback on readability etc. from those experienced in the area of FAs. The reason i put the colspans in is because Leicester were out of all the competitions before he joined and so was never available in them, the colspan generally act as a form of N/A symbol, where as he has been available for selection in those comps for man utd. Disruptive editor

Hi there PEEJAY, VASCO from Portugal here,

Just witnessed your "interactions" with User:Bruninho, which led to an exhaustive revert battle in Gerard Piqué's article. Well, let me tell you a little story about this "user" (contributions here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Bruninho):

His former user name is User:Bruno P.Dori, who had the following editing habits: 99,99999999999% percent of his "contributions" (seen here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Bruno_P._Dori) consist in players connected past or present with FC Barcelona. Also, he has the habit of overusing caps in infoboxes and enlarging them needlessly (Piqué is a good example, but others such as Sergio Busquets, a page which had to be protected due to his continuous disruptions (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sergi_Busquets&diff=260741413&oldid=260737132), Sergio García de la Fuente or Damià Abella, also formerly at BARCELONA, are also good options).

He writes no edit summaries, and does not respond to messages, as you very well know by now, and as Piqué is a shining example (i have had my share with him as well), if you revert something 5 times he will revert it 6, without any interactions whatsoever. Well, as i was saying, the account BRUNO P.DORI was finally blocked (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Bruno_P._Dori) and now he has this one, BRUNINHO. Charming, eh?

Another good tip may be this, which i already presented, without any success, at several reports pages (WP/ANI, WPFOOTY, etc): i have found over 40 different IP for this "user" so far, of which i now present to you the registered ones: (Sockpuppets - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Suspected_Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Bruno_P._Dori), some of those and new ones can be found at Antonio Longás and Albert Jorquera (see? BARCELONA players at some point), two articles that also had to be protected. Also in LONGÁS' article, he proves his disruption patterns: in "current club", he writes one thing, in last club in infobox, which is also current, he writes a different name, and if someone dares to revert it, he re-reverts it how many times necessary. This not to mention the enormous "CENTRAL MIDFIELDER / ATTACKING MIDFIELDER" in player position...

Make no mistake, this guy is not willing to work as a team and has endless ways to evade a block, he will not engage in any dialogue...Pityful.

Also regarding PIQUÉ's article, i saw that you removed the FC's in infobox, which led to my commenting (there, but also now) i do not understand (i have seen it in various articles) why is it a problem to display those two letters when they take up absolutely no space at all?

P.S. Incredible!!!! Visited now PIQUÉ's article, before clicking "save page" here, and BRUNINHO, anonymously, has already reverted your actions (the chart you keep removing and infobox with caps). See what i mean?

1986 World Cup Final

Hi PeeJay - I've been attempting to write a merged 'England v Argetnina (1986)' article and I can't for the life of me work out why the line-up section won't go into two columns. I was trying to create a system whereby I could generate an 'edit conflict' so that I could compare the wikicode to see where I've gone wrong. Hence having to make a couple of minor changes (Match details > match detailsx) so I could generate the change. How can something vital be of mid importance?

Hi, I have seen your remark on my talk. I think this will be a challenge for this particular project. In my opinion, this project aims at the whole of Wikipedia (i.e. no specific project); and within Wikipedia aims at improving the articles of utmost importance (top 100, 1000, or 10000). Hence, in my view, compared to normal standard in Wikipedia, this project tags only articles that are of High (or even more) importance to Wikipedia as a whole.

I agree this is a tricky position, but I stand by it. I would not mind if in this difficult light, the importance label was not used in this specific project (as it is not in many other project). Arnoutf (talk) 22:44, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

In my view, a "winning goal" is a/the goal that is decisive in that given moment, and PIQUÉ's was not (it was, as i wrote in edit summary, the 3-0). Or in that case, as Barça scored 3, then all of them were winners, not just his.

Since i respect your work, i will not revert it anymore (except for the wikilinks i provided and were removed when you, possibly, clicked "undo"), rest assured i am no vandal like BRUNINHO, with his endless IP addresses.

Yes, but the Investigation section doesn't say how the accident was caused. Say you're driving through slush at 10mph. You will encounter a certain amount of drag. Go twice as fast in slush, and you get four times the drag; go three times as fast and there's nine times the drag; four times as fast and there's sixteen times the drag. Disruptive editor

Hi there PEEJAY, VASCO here,

I bring to you a highly disruptive editor, anonymous IP 92.4.253.48 ("contributions" here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/92.4.253.48). I checked, out of sheer hazard Bruno Alves' article and, there it was: POV/WEASEL, but the most important, this person inserts info that is not true, at all. For instance, it says there that he bought the club Varzim Sport Club alongside his brother and bought João Vieira Pinto (38 years old) out of retirement. By the way, if you check ALVES brother's article, Geraldo Alves, you will see that my anonymous IP removed a lot of info, which was full of the three things i duly acuse him of (POV/WEASEL/LIES), you will see it says ("said") in "PERSONAL LIFE" that he is married to actress Lúcia Moniz and they have two sons, one named BRUNO to honour his brother. What a load of rubbish!! I checked several sites on this singer/actress, and it is not true.

Also, and in another striking pattern of this person's obsession, he also inserted that former players João Pinto (already mentioned in this message, above) and Ricardo Sá Pinto (both retired) now play for Varzim (also mentioned above)...LIE!!! I mentioned pattern because the ALVES brothers were born in that city (Póvoa de Varzim) and began playing football at that club. He also operates with many, many IP, and also gave me a hard time with Arnaldo Edi Lopes da Silva and Juanfran (both AEK players, as GERALDO ALVES, more patterns).

He keeps engaging in infobox wars (nearly, if not, 100% of his editing space) and writing no summaries or messages. Most of those new IP can be found at Albert Jorquera, Antonio Longás, Sergio Busquets and, as you already had the painful experience of knowing, Gerard Piqué.

Also, could you add those new addresses to the list of sockpuppets? Last time i checked it contained 26 and, almost 1 month after, still 26, when he has nearly 40 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Suspected_Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Bruno_P._Dori)

date confusion over Tony Adams' sacking

Each competition season article uses the round-naming scheme as defined by the competition organisers, e.g. the FA for the FA Cup or UEFA for the Champions League. Being this a football "user" and you a member of "the force": Check out this new contributor, JESSEMON111 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Jessemon111), he logged in today. Incredibly, while most vandals seem to almost exclusively edit anonymously, this idiot (don't fret, i know where i'm heading) went through the trouble of registering to write foul language, lies, the whole ordeal.

Here's an example (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Salvador_Ballesta&diff=prev&oldid=269917615), hope he can be put offside. By the way, that BRUNINHO and his endless IP show no signs of slowing down, i have received advice that sometimes, it's better to just stay put a little bit, ignore the vandal, let them bore themselves out, and then arrange what's to be arranged.

Well I think it would cause confusion if someone is listed as a winner of a national title without playing for a national team. I just heard the sad news that you received a minor block, regarding the edit war on Gerard Piqué. I understood the point of view of the person who blocked (KEVIN), stating that it takes two to edit-war and you were as much a culprit as the vandal (by the way, i already "info'ed" Kevin about the dirty deeds of BRUNINHO aka whatever).

I said i understood the blocker's reasoning, but i also think a person who engages in on-sight revertings, as much as needed, without answering to a single message or writing one edit summary whatsoever, so i am on your side in this issue, hope it turns out well for you mate, not for the vandal. When i saw the blanks yesterday, I thought that someone forgotten to fill in, so I went to check for the attendance so that I can fill it in. I found out that it was yet to be counted. You know, I'm pretty certain that the flags-in-infoboxes thing only relates to not having it where people are born and/or died. I've read WP:MOSFLAG, and nowhere does it state that flags cannot be used to designate sporting nationality. Right - I remember that conversation too - but I'm 99.999% certain that the discussion only related to having flags next to, say, the country where players are born, or next to the name of the domestic club. In that circumstance, I absolutely agree - it messes with row alignment and looks awful. However, for national teams, I don't think it applies. WP:MOSFLAG clearly states that flags should not be used to designate places of birth/death - and I fully agree. However, the fact that the{{fb}} tag actively includes a flag in the syntax doesn't go against the flags guidelines; the only reason I was putting one on Terry Cooke's page is because there is no {{fb}} tag for England U21's, so I added the flag manually to be consistent. --JonBroxton (talk) 22:53, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi PeeJay - I have looked at the sources quoted above which do confirm the date of birth as 1921. User:Velpremus has already emailed www.englandfootballonline.com with his evidence and they have changed their website to give the Date of birth as 14-Sept-1921 (see [14]). Michael Joyce (www.allfootballers.com and "Football League Players' Records 1888-1939") also gives the date of birth as 14/09/1921, so I'm coming round to the opinion that all the other sources have got it wrong - they do tend to copy each other, especially if there was an error in the original registration papers. When I have time over the weekend, I will e-mail Michael Joyce and ask him for his sources. I may even apply for a copy of the birth certificate, although that will cost me £7, but if Wikipedia is to have any integrity, these details must be correct. Cheers. I saw your earlier revisions deleting footballboxes. I don't think the article gets too big with footballboxes. It goes from 37k to 40k. Also, there are no separate group pages where footballboxes would be more appropriate. Without them, you lose important info: the time of day for matches and match number. Old Trafford

Is Old Trafford one of two UEFA-rated five-star stadia in England? I reverted an edit to the Manchester article (which is on the main page at the moment) stating as much because it was unsourced. I searched for a reference of the Old Trafford article, and while it says Wembley is also five-star, I couldn't find a source explicitly stating OT and Wembley were the only two. Could you help? I'm playing on the "amateur" setting. I lost 3–0 to Wigan in the next game, so there appears to be no rhyme or reason. I have noticed, however, that when the computer team wants to score, nothing short of a machete is going to stop that player making it into the box and taking a shot. I forgot to mention that the one player I have acquired, I didn't actually buy. I brought him in on loan, but he's decided to stay of his own accord. INFOBOXES

Hi there PJ, VASCO here,

I am sorry for the edit conflict in Gerard Piqué; it's just it was the first time i saw an infobox so needlessly (in my modest point of view) elaborate that i "panicked" and reverted. After, i saw the same pattern in Sergio Busquets and opted to "stay put", only working in storyline.

Yet, could you please tell me why some infoboxes are the way they are (nationalteams1, nationalteams2, etc, etc)? I already sent a message explaining/inquiring/apologizing to User:Commander Shepard (seen here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Commander_Shepard#INFOBOXES), which i think, at least by consulting Piqué's edit history, was the original provider of new infoboxes.

While that's a valid reason for speedy deletion in general, this page does not qualify for speedy deletion under that criterion because per WP:CSD#I1, redundant images can only be deleted if they are in the same file format. Yeah it is definitely a nickname, no doubt caused by playing for Wales sides in which he was neither the only Jones or only Billy. Books which use Billy Lot Jones include Manchester City the Complete Record (and several other books on City by the same author) and the Billy Meredith biography. The Manchester City Story uses Lot Jones and The Maine Road Encyclopedia goes with Willy Lot Jones. I guess now I've dug them all out I ought to expand the article... List of Welsh rugby union players

Took me an hour or two; cut and paste job and a bit of formatiing between Excel and Word. I'm hoping it will eventually look like the list you began, my only concern is the cap information. We are so short of Wikipeadians on WikiProject rugby, without having people to update the caps issue for present players. The list needs formatting and the ability to sort. I would have split the groups up like the Irish list, but then you can't sort all the players.

What help are you looking for?

• OK, I've added a column with surnames first, so we can sort the players like your original table, plus I've added DoB and DoD. I've added caps (but will probably only add to those players who have retired from international rugby). Plus I've added the scoring types, as points can't be correlated between the eras. Deletion of FA Cup Final 1990 Replay entry re last all-English line-up

I would like to discuss your removal of a fact from the 1990 FA Cup Final entry (i.e. that the line-up of the Crystal Palace team in the 1990 Replay was the last all-English line-up in an FA Cup Final). You say it is of no importance and say that for many years other British nationalities have been in Final team line-ups. I would say it is important as it would be surprising to many people that the last all-English line-up occurred as recently as 1990 (and not 1975 with West Ham as many people suppose). Moreover, it is the English FA Cup and it is therefore in my view perfectly legitimate to point out the last occasion when an all-English line up was fielded. I would respectfully suggest that you undermine your own argument in favour of deletion by saying that many Scots, Irish and Welsh were in teams over the years. Surely the fact that an all-English line- up was playing as late as the 1990s makes it notable and thus of at least some importance. You also undermine your argument by saying that teams reaching the FA Cup Final "rarely" fielded all-English sides (surely all-English sides were commonplace since the inception of the competition in 1872 and for several decades thereafter) Moreover, in the 1975 FA Cup Final entry, it is mentioned that West Ham were the last all-English club to win the FA Cup - if you feel that such facts are unimportant, why have you not deleted this from the 1975 page? If you do not remove the 1975 fact, then your logic for deleting the 1990 fact is highly flawed and contradictory. If you do not remove the 1975 fact, then there is no reason why the 1990 fact should be removed.

I disagree with your deletion for the reasons given. However I appreciate you giving your reasons as opposed to an unexplained deletion, even if they are, in my view, flawed and the original 1990 fact should be restored at the earliest opportunity. I reverted many of his edits and warned him again today. I hope this will make it stop vandalizing. But don't worry about this, i will keep a close watch on him.

However, I have some troubles asserting if some of his edits are good contributions or vandalism. I can't access sport-related website so i can't check date changes such as [17] or [18]. Moreover there are some things i'm not sure about like this one [19] (it seems Piqué had a contract with M.U on the date of the final, but he doesn't appear in 2008_UEFA_Champions_League_Final). In theses cases I did nothing.

So it would be very nice of you if you could check theses cases and other contributions by this IP that I didn't revert so that we can be sure no hidden vandalism stay on theses articles.

Champions League Final

Really? I thought it was the home team which got first choice and I doubt that Barcelona would not want to wear their classic home kit (they could technically choose to wear their away shirts - Milan did this a few years ago against Liverpool).

We could wait for confirmation from ManUtd.com, but I think that there's less than 1% chance that Barcelona will choose to wear their away kits, so IMO it's pretty safe to put the kits back on the article now. Hey look. Stop reverting me. Have a little common sense and common courtesy. There is no logical reason for the date to be changed. Both are valid date formats. Are you really suggesting that people can't understand one version over the other? The article was originally formatted that way as have previous years. It is customary to continue in the way that the article has been formatted with the most major additions/edits etc. As the date format has not been a problem until now, I can see no valid reason to changing it. Quadriple?

first of all when you won the world club cup in 1999 along with a 18 point win in the title race in the same season, did you or any other united fan label that as a double win? No. Is that stastistic labeled as a double win in the history of english football books? No. Will 90% for Man U fans label the world club cup as part of a quadriple win? Because the press are not really intellegent. In the league cup you can play up to 6 to 7 games to win as does the F.A Cup, Champions League 13 games plus if you pre-qualify. Premier League obviously 38 games, World Club Cup used to be 1 game now 2 games if you are from europe as Man u are. Some United fans (usually the glory-hunting fans who don't live in Manchester or Salford and know nothing about football) will count as a quadriple but the real fans who live in Manchester & salford and parts of lancashire will not count the world club cup as part of a quadrible because it is worldwide tournament and not part of UEFA football tournaments as well as it not being neccessary hard work playing a maximum 2 matches. Oh tell a lie you're right it's being moved from Tokyo next year to Dubai so they won the inconternal cup in 1999 but I am still sure that both trophies are joined up to make the World Club Cup because in the Interconternal Cup does not exist anymore and World Club Cup did not happen for 5 years from 2000 onwards. I was under the impression that the contents of the interview would be of biographical interest to people reading the article, especially with regard to his career and background. I'm new to Wikipedia, so by all means please point out where I may be infringing a guideline, but I don't think the word "immaterial" can be fairly applied. The interviewer is David Parry-Jones, the author of "The Rugby Clubs of Wales" (Ref. 1), and the interview corroborates several of the biographical details in the article.

As far as self-promotion goes; in the spirit of disclosure: the interview was conducted by David Parry-Jones on behalf of the Wales Video Gallery before my company was in any way involved in the charity. I immediately saw the potential of Wikipedia to make this information freely available to any and all interested parties. As far as I was aware, the interview was as material as, for example, the photo at sporting heroes and didn't require any textual content to be inserted to the article to justify making it available. I didn't think there would be anything unethical about linking to it, as I was simply providing free access to the material in line with the Deed of Trust of the charity.

Irish Flag

You contradict yourself by saying that Ireland partake in the Heineken cup and that Ireland have won it four times with 2 runers up. What you are arguing is that Ireland never won it, rather, the IRFU did and in that case Ireland should be replaced with IRFU. Since the IRFU is an Irish organisation and all the players are contracted to it, they therefore play under the Irish Flag, Irish rugby is not governed by politics! I don't know how you think you can argue this since you are not Irish. You reverted another edit I made to Trevor Brennan in the Stade Toulousain article. Not contracted by the IRFU, he was an Irish International and therefore is Irish and should have an Irish Flag beside his name. The IRFU is not an international body, it is Irish. The Ulster players, when they play for Ireland, they do not play under the Union Jack or under the IRFU flag, they play under the Irish flag. If you have ever been to an international, the flags in the stadium are the national flags not the flags of the rugby body. Similarly, the Ulster players with British citizenship have a choice to play for England or Ireland, there is not one british player in the lineup. Also, when Ulster win anything, the Heineken Cup for example, that win is not designated British, its not designated Northern Irish, nor is it designated from multiple nationalities, it is designated Irish. Hope you don't mind me intruding. I'm an ITFC fan who either believes all publicity is good publicity, or that thinking that way is a good way of coping. I found a match report from the time, with lovely stats like the table positions after the match, some goal times, it was their "biggest League win in 97 years." It even has a video of all 9 goals (I think the 8th is dubious). MSN lists it as one of "sport's most baffling blunders". I see you're running into the same issue witb Bruninho on Gerard Pique's article as I did on Albert Celades's article. It's always the same with him - he ignores WP:FOOTY consensus with team link piping by having the "FC" in place, reverts any changes instantly without explanation, fails to enter into any conversation... he has probably the worst case of WP:OWN I have ever come across on here. I honestly don't know what we can do. Yes, he is a regular contributor, but I do often wonder why he doesn't just stick to working on the Portuguese WP - an exuse I often hear for his lack of dialog is that he doesn't write or speak English... in which case, why is he editing an encyclopedia in a language he doesn't speak? I don't edit the Finnish WP, or the Hungarian WP, for that very same reason. Also, if the language barrier makes him incapable of understanding consensus, how is he ever going to edit properly? Regarding the user at hand, per Ed Johnston's request, i'll update you: I messaged BRUNINHO after ED asked me too, and he responded. His "beef" his the following: he feels that too much emphasis has been being put in Gerard Piqué's article, with all the other players from FC BARCELONA being "left to die" (that is to say, he says - not my view, i am only conveying what he said - all other BARCELONA players are allowed to have FC BARCELONA in boxes, safe PIQUÉ).

I remember you once told me you had no preference on whether it should be "FC" or "no FC", and i'll tell you (with a Portuguese example at hand) that this club, alongside Portugal's F.C. Porto, is often/commonly referred to with the FC's upfront, although it is also "spoken of" without...Confusing i'll admit it. Following ED's suggestion, i guess it could also be cool to present (maybe it has already been, but not in these molds) a WP/FOOTY discussion. What are your views mate?

Man, some apologies are in order, even though you thanked me for my SOCK post: in my sentence there (it's already been corrected) i first said "...i have no reasons to believe his judgments regarding the MAURICY sockpuppetry...", when i meant "...no reason NOT TO BELIEVE..."!! Also, i see that it is sad, even though i told BRUNINHO about your approach towards MAN.UTD players (such as he has one towards BARCELONA players). This past year, i have been dealing with a much much worse case, PARARUBBAS. This guy, as BRUNINHO, did not write one summary, did not engage in no talkpage conversation, removed REFS/EXT.LINKS without a word, etc. Opposed to BRUNINHO, he did try to write in English, with appalling results. He has now ceased, at least from what i am aware of, to open accounts, but still "contributes" anon.

Good. You get the point. However, this version is considered outdated one comparing to the regulation one. Also, the regulation strongly differentiate the qualifying phase and the play-off round. Please be attention that I am talking the word "phase" instead of "rounds". That's why I split the play-off round out of qualifying phase, as it is only a qualifying round, but not a part of qualifying phase.
Also, plenty of articles shown that play-off round is out of the qualifying phase. Please be kind to refer to the Article 7.01, 7.02, 7.03, 13.01 (Turf standard requirement), 19.05 (Names at the back of shirt, which would not forced to be printed before), 19.11 (Competition logo must appear since play-off round instead of group stage). By the way, i don't think BRUNINHO has stopped, i have seen some anon edits (from Brazil) in past/present FC BARCELONA players (A or B sides) with the everpresent "subject" FC/no FC. Either way, i'm backing off from this, have had enough, having had to deal with the other vandal i told you about. Also, as BRUNO's edits are not seen as "bona fide" vandalism, it's not all that worrying (the other "user" was much much more worse!), methinks ;) It's just sad that he may be coming across as an unreliable person (i.e. checkuser showed he and MAURICY are same person, he denies it)...

My doubt: there is chap (anon and without a single edit summary to make it "better") that has been inserting (at least here and here) unofficial honours in player pages (i.e. friendly tournaments). I would like to know: is this "encouraged", non-allowed or indifferent? Problem is this guy seems unreachable, much more if he has a dynamic IP (in addition to already mentioned - no summaries).

Also from MATA's article, to give you an idea of how people are in their "contributions", more worried in making their mark on the wiki-world than improving article, look at this charmer i removed:

I have added all I can, with references, on this subject. Whilst I do not dispute the "MUFC Halt" sentence, I can find no published reference to back it up, so I cannot help to render the "fact" tag unnecessary.

It was a pity you deleted the photo of the ground in its original state. This would have interested many MUFC fans. Where do you think you can find another? The original shot is uncredited and may have been taken any time after about 1923, but I was "ultra honest" in saying "circa 1930". The photo cannot be traced. There is no mark or clue to its taker. It is on sepia paper (and therefore fairly ancient!) and came to me many years ago from a now deceased woman acquaintance. Other high-quality articles on other unrelated subjects which I've contributed to, have used my 'mystery photos' for the benefit of Wiki readers, the leading contributor having used the attribution wording which I therefore adopted when loading this particular photo.RuthAS (talk) 22:31, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Regarding this last chap with whom a lot of people dealed in the last year, i'll leave too "weekend" notes: first of all, he still operates anon, for sure.

Second, you might want to keep an eye on his "wiki cousin", Fleshly. This guy does not operate solely on FC Barcelona, but you just try and remove the FC's from BARCELONA A or B, you will be shot on sight!! It would be nice (i don't know how to do it or if it's possible) to see from which country is this new user operating.

At least on this matter (i'll admit to you i do prefer FC BARCELONA, but FC BARCELONA B is just too much, at least in box), i give up, just too much trouble and no gain...

Twenty20 Cup

Hi mate, I was wondering whether you thought it reasonable to have standalone sections for the different stages of the Twenty20 Cup. I created 2008 Twenty20 Cup group stage this morning to put the results of last year's competition that were filling up the main article. There is also 2008 Twenty20 Cup knockout stage and 2008 Twenty20 Cup Finals Day, which probably need a bit of clean-up. How is it counter-productive? The match result is not ratified until the referee submits his report to the relevant association, so any changes that take place between the start of the game and the submission of the report are plainly wrong. If you have a problem with this, take it up with the people who draft Wikipedia policy and the IPs who keep mistakenly reverting me. Its counter-productive because its inevitable that the information displayed will reflect what the referee - and not just but media. Since you believe it is wrong why don't you disappear for duration of games and then come back and is see if the information is wrong. How is it that for football you play the dictator for the end of the match but for cricket I noticed you don't wait for the end of the game? Whats the difference? Excess kit detail

Hi. I saw that you'd done some good work tidying up the images for the current Chelsea kits, getting rid of logos, etc. I'm not sure how to do this, so wherever I find these types of images I've just been changing to a simpler version from the kit pattern list. This often gets undone. So, do you think that you might be able to look at a few files where editors have insisted on creating a unique and overly detailed version of a kit for (presumably) their club? Manchester United FC: IPA for English‎

Why did you just remove that? I added them to all the Premier League and Football league clubs, surely having the IPA is only improving the article? What possible reason can you have for removing it? Well the fixture list seems public knowledge also to me, as all the media outlets copy it to their newspapers, magazines, websites. I don't think it's copyrighted material, but I wasn't clear how it can be the "Intellectual property of"! I beleive we should be able to put the whole list down if we want, I think it just means that the Premier League has the right to change the fixtures around if they so wish. re: Edits to Template:Manchester City F.C.

Is there a new manual of style going around for these templates? I see you edited ours. I have to say (slightly tongue-in-cheekly, and with no malice, I assure you) that I prefer our previous one. No, no. Your edit was fine, you didn't lose anything, I have no reason to hold you to account. I just don't like the new style ;) I just liked the old thing and am not a big fan of the left-alignedness and the extra classification involved. But you pointed out the real problem - there's a Manual of Style now - so I'll stick with it. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Thanks for clearing it up. Hi mate, I have been working on creating navbox templates for the seasons in English football, adding the preferred "Club seasons" section instead of "Transfers Over £10million". Could you take a look at them (I have done quite a few for the last 10 years) and amend any links or ommisions. I have been adding the team names to the template so that it serves as a record of the season, but left them as black-links until the articles are created - I hope this is OK. PeeJay, the whole think about isolating the quotation marks from being bolded is complete nonsense, so I think you should just leave it alone frankly. Hi, why did you revert my comment in the criticism section of the FIFA ranking page?! My friend, I searched all over the internet and couldn't find anyone who noticed this issue. Now you don't need to have it verified by an article somewhere, because you can do the math yourself, as I show in the example, and you can verify it. I think no one noticed this, but it's blatantly unfair. And mine are not just concerns, they are mathematical truths, so I don't see the need to go look for a reference for them. It's like your asking me to find a reference for 1+1=2.

Longtime no see, hope all's fine by you. About my edits at Raimond van der Gouw, i'll explain about the infobox, since the rest is pretty much clear: my approach for its compression was the following - and since you told me "WEST HAM UNITED and RCK WAALWIJK are no longer than MANCHESTER UNITED": i compressed to WEST HAM, RKC and AGOVV because i thought those sufficed, being the names of clubs (WEST HAM is in London, RKC is from Waalwijk (and the same for AGOOVV)), but i could/would never compress MAN.UNITED to MANCHESTER, for obvious reasons, mate.

That said, don't worry, i will never revert that box again, i respect your approach, just wanted to let you know on my "tactics". By the way, about MANU's last match, do you know why was Ben Foster benched? Kind of weird to "rotate" your keeper in a CL match :) And still about the main point in my message, like i said, no worries, i am not BRUNINHO/MAURICY/LAVOTANOVO/etc, etc, your last version at van der Gouw, at least from my "perspective", will stay untouched.

I have just added Template:1961–62 in English football to the Huddersfield and Blackpool articles for that season but it doesn't seem to be displaying properly (it is leaving extra white space). Do you know what the problem could be and how to sort it. Cheers. 03md 18:18, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Joshua King (footballer)

Hehe, I realized that... Quite funny, even though I live 500 m from where he grew up, I've never seen him play! ...until today! But I think he did quite well, the small amount of time that he got! Also nice to see two Norwegian players in United-jerseys again, brings back memories from the period with Berg, Johnsen & Solskjær (aka. the Treble season).
