John Layfield (wrestler)

I moved the article to John Layfield (wrestler) in preparation for writing a biography of John Layfield the 17th century theologian who helped translate the King James Version. While I was busy editing the 1000 linked pages to avoid redirects, User:McPhail reversed the move and created an in-article redirect. I really feel that the theologian has a greater claim on being the most notable Layfield and bearer of the primary article name, but I didn't realize the unbelievable depth of professional wrestling coverage on Wikipedia when I started the task. I was about to spend the rest of the morning making things "right" before I was undermined. At this point I'm quite happy to turn my back on the whole mess and let you guys sort out the redirects. -- Dystopos 17:48, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

The tables could probably be improved upon; I don't know a great deal about coding. I think most of the issues in the Featured Articles rejection and the Peer Review have been addressed, though, so the article might be ready to be nominated once again. McPhail 19:39, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

LOD Vandalism

I blocked that IP address of at vandal you mentioned earlier indefinetly because of the threat. I think his IP is shared, so it may be lifted later on. You're welcome. The first few times I ran into him, I left messages on his talk pages explaining about the manual of style and the various other things he was doing. I've since stopped doing that because he changes his IP everytime and I doubt he would listen anyways. He obviously doesn't read edit summaries, or he would have seen you trying to explain it to him. Well, I now have all his favourite pages on my watchlist, so whenever he pops up, I pull his contribution page up and rollback his edits. Maybe, one day, he'll notice. Edit the article to remove the prod notice. You'll want to provide a short reason in your edit summary, and possibly a long one on the talk page. The person who proposed its deletion felt the event to be "non-notable", so you might want to review WP:NOT and WP:N if you haven't already and try to improve the article.

When you remove the prod notice, someone may feel that the article still should be deleted and send it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for discussion. That'll put a new banner on the article giving you a link to the discussion where you can make your case. (You wouldn't want to remove the new banner, but don't worry, the deletion notices all say right on them whether or not it's okay to take them off.) NickelShoe 12:39, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

UKWA British Tag-Team Championship

Hi Paulley. Whilst I thank you for taking time out to document the history of the UKWA/RBW Tag-Team Championship, I do however find that your version has some errors. you have since reverted my "version" of events back to your own, claiming "un needed info" or something like that. As the owner of the UKWA I would like to point out that a clear consise history of the championship is alot better than general facts. You claim ross jordan and stixx where "rbw" wrestlers, I can assure you I hired them on the 1st show and they where as much RBW as they where UKWA, so where you get this "Title in RBW Camp" talk from I dont know. The Southern Alliance was formed back in the February of 2003, not later that year as described. if you wish to edit the championship, or would like the complete breakdown and history of the championship so you can wikify it [im useless atit really] I'd be more than happy to supply the information. but you can understand where Im coming from, If I was there and it was my creation, you can see how and why Im a little uneasy with the version thats present. contact me at ukwa@hotmail.co.uk

Happy Humphrey

I did create the inital versions, sometimes just stubs, of a few articles: George Wagner, Haystack Calhoun, Paul Edward Anderson, but the Wikipedia has gotten too...formal...for casual me. I'm not complaining, it was bound to happen. Oh, about George Wagner, I've tried and tried to find out on the internet about the guy who was supposed to have been his inspiration, Lord Patrick Lansdowne, and there's hardly a mention of him. Too bad, I'm really kinda curious about him.

In some cases, he does have a valid complaint - some of the more succinct articles are basically copy-and-pastes from OWW. Crediting a particular person within an article isn't really appropriate, though - adding a link to OWW under references should suffice in most cases. McPhail 17:47, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

The ROH one was not the only one he hosted on that site; he also hosted the CZW, XPW, NJPW, WWE, TNA, etc. etc. etc. all my other move lists, too. This point of yours holds no validity.

Ashley's signature moves

It has come to my attention that you have been deleting Ashley's signature moves, although Ashley is not that much of an accomplished wrestler she has got a few signature moves that she has used on a number of occasions and even to win matches that are televised. For example if I can remember correctly, Ashley has used the magistral pin in almost every match she has wrestled in the WWE, aswell as clothesline varations. Deleting Ashley's moves and saying that they are not signature moves, is the same as deleting Stratus' Spinebuster, or Victory Roll, becasue she doesn't use them to finish matches. If that is the case, we should go on every wrestler's profile and delete every move that is not used to finish matches because they are not "signature". I agree with you on most of what you said, but I also think that the Crucifix roll up should remain and the Springboard into a double axe handle should remain, becuase she uses those frequently aswell. Every thing else can go e.g-- like the generic "Double Clothesline".

I'm sure she will be training to get better, but from the tag team matches she was in weekly, you could see that she was developing a repetoire of moves. From her Royal Rumble match with Mickie James, you could see that she has come leaps and bounds from her first matches with Victoria and Torrie! Molly Holly is good but the thing is we need to have the Smackdown Divas compete for the Women's Championship aswell! I still belive that Melina is still the most dominant Diva in the WWE and the best female wrestler-- much better than the stale Trish with the same moveset! Yes your'e right about Jillian Hall! Jillian is an 11-time Women's Champion is the Indy Circuit! She definately needs to go to RAW, and that is probably why JBL fired her. If you notice the WWE have taken everything away that might hinder he from getting more involved in the ring: "the mole" and her managing JBL-- she is ready to be drafted! By the way when is the draft lottery? Back to Melina-- she has more wrestling talent than most Divas, as I have watched her in the Indy promotions and she is on point!! She needs to start using the KyraPractor again, and her new finisher the Spinning facebuster adds a great touch to her arsenal of offensive moves. (Fr3nZi3 21:28, 26 April 2006 (UTC))
