Hey Patrick,

This is a very thought out article with lots of information in regards to the context. There are a few grammatical errors that I found while going through it. I don't believe that "change should be capitalized here:"By 1899, Catholic schools in Toronto were beginning to Change" I also like how you made the distinction between the beginnings of the school system and the end of it. Your topic has a lot of history so it's nice to see how to dissect it all. I don't know much about the topic so I can't say much else then what I saw.

I found this that might need a citation as this can be debated:"Although Catholic elementary schools were developing and expanding at a high rate, Catholic high schools and post-secondary schools developed far slower. The High-School buildings available were in terrible condition, and were unable to have the necessary components to compete with the public high-schools"

You did a good job of expanding on the funding section and how it changed throughout the history of the school system. Your information on the Catholic Schools compared to Public schools section was interesting and I believe is relevant to the topic but can be expanded upon a little by giving a little more context of the public school system itself.

Furthermore, your topic is something that is ongoing so I believe a section on Catholic schools today would be a nice touch to summarize your article. Overall, well done.

You've done a good job identifying Patrick's strengths Ben. You're also wise to draw his attention to some of the stylistic aspects of his article. More critical engagement with our course content would help. Yes, it is true that we have not done much on Ontario schooling. We did, however, spend a whole class discussing the broader themes of Patrick's article. What impact did the BNA, Caraquet or Manitoba schools have in shaping these ideas. Some of this is clear, I think, though that more could be made of the BNA Act. - tp — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tpcanoe (talkcontribs) 15:50, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
